According to the empirical analysis based on the Consumer Sentiment Index(CSI) of the Bank of Korea and other macro-economic indices, the following study findings are presented. First, individual consumer sentiment depends not only on GDP growth, but also on other macro-economic conditions such as wage, employment, consumer and asset price, and debt burden. Second, the degree of importance of the macro-economic indices on determining individual consumer sentiment varies strongly according to consumers' characteristics. These findings reveal that the gap between consumer sentiment and GDP growth can largely be explained by considering the other macro-economic indices and consumer's characteristics.

This study was conducted following the hypothesis that the organizational characteristics(organizational type, certification type, certification year, social service supply type, and external grants) of social enterprises affect social and economic performance, and that significant correlation exists between social and economic performance. This study collected the disclosure materials of 219 social enterprises certified between 2007- 2014 from the directory of the Korean Social Enterprise Promotion Agency. The study results are as follows: First, organizational characteristics affect social performance(i.e. jobs for the vulnerable classes). In addition, certification year and external grants had a positive effect on social performance. Second, the organizational characteristics affect the economic performance(i.e. sales), and certification year and external grants had a positive effect on economic performance. However, organizational type had a negative effect on the economic performance(i.e. sales). Third, analysis found a positive correlation of factors affecting social and economic performance. This study suggests the need to diversify support policies according to the number of authentication years in order to promote self-reliance and sustainability by maximizing the social and economic performance of social enterprises.

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate economic factors that determine characteristics of B2B e-Marketplaces. From a previous research work, we classify B2B e-Marketplaces into four forms: MRO Hubs, Catalogue Hubs, Yield Managers, and Exchanges. This classification is based upon "What businesses buy" and "How businesses buy." In an attempt to identify economic factors that determine e-Marketplace forms, we employ three economic factors: buyer/seller relationships, features of products traded, and characteristics of industries or markets. Through extensive literature reviews, we have selected six variables which can be used to explain reasons for different e-Marketplace forms: asset specificity and information asymmetry for the buyer/seller relationship, standardization and price variability for the product features, entry barrier and market volatility for the market characteristics. This research conducts six in-depth case studies to explain that "Why different forms of e-Marketplace emerge?" The research framework intends to provide link between e-Marketplace forms and six economic variables. Six case studies are based on interviews with CEO or team managers of e-Marketplace firms. This study has found six economic variables, explaining well reasons for different e-Marketplace forms. Research findings are summarized as propositions so that survey-type research can be conducted with a large number of samples in the future.

  • Legislation on pharmaceutical reimbursement decision using economic evaluation results was made in Korea in fm, but has yet to be fully implemented. We evaluated the quality of Korean economic evaluation studies of pharmaceuticals to understand gaps between legislation and implementation. From this evaluation, we propose policy options that might strengthen the research Infrastructure In order to support such studies. We reviewed 23 published studies for drugs conducted between 1996 and 2004. Evaluation criteria included methodological characteristics, healthcare system characteristics, population characteristics, and applicability of results. Large variation in study quality was observed, particularly with study design, outcome data, treatment patterns and interpretation. Korean clinical data used was mostly from observational studies of 1-2 hospitals. Foreign data was extracted from clinical trials that did not Include Asian population and their selection criterion was not clarified. With respect to treatment patterns, medical records and hospital bills were used without adjustment regarding area, hospital type, and others. And next frequent situation relied on expert opinion from academic physicians in specialty practice. preference measures, when used, were not elicited from the Korean population. $78.3\%$ of studies did not clarify the funding source. If the Korean economic evaluation policy is to provide meaningful data for decision makers, the quality of cost-effectiveness studies will need to improve dramatically. This may involve access to or creation of better data, more diverse funding, unproved training of researchers and evaluators, and partnerships with technology manufacturers.
