this study has dual purposes; one is to develope a new theoretical framework in consumer behavior area by applying the human ecological approach, and the other is to test the theory empirically area by applying the human ecological approach, and the other is to test the theory empirically by examining prepurchasing behavior of housing. Research methods adopted in this study are library search and survey research with self-administered questionnaires. The statistical methods used in the survey research are factor analysis, chi square test, and multivariate analysis with crosstablulations. According to the human ecological approach, ecological environments are important sources of consumer needs which , in turn, are satisfied by purchasing behavior in the market. Within this theoretical framework, consumers con improve the quality to life by perceving clearly what their needs are thereby making the most possible efficient purchasing decision making. The major findings of the empirical research on the basis of the theoretical framework are as follows; 1) Housing needs significantly vary with different ecological environment. 2) consumer information search behavior does not differ significantly by housing needs. 3) Housing needs turn out to be an intervening variable between ecological environments and consumer information search behavior. the results of this study show that the human ecological approach is useful in consumer behavior studies. The empirical result that consumer needs are not significantly satisfied by consumer behavior suggests a now direction in consumer education.

환경설계는 우리 사회의 생태적, 미적, 사회적 가치들의 조율을 추구하지만, 생태적 가치와 미적 가치는 쉽게 조율되기에는 복잡한 관계를 지닌다. 생태미학이라는 분야는 생태적으로 건강하고, 미적으로도 매력적인 경관설계를 그 목표로 경관의 지속가능성과 미학의 관계에 대해 탐구한다. 이러한 복잡한 관계를 다루는 학문 영역의 중요성에도 불구하고, 극히 일부의 연구들이 생태미학과 관련된 주제를 경험적 방법을 통해 연구했다. 본 연구는 생태미학의 기존 개념을 정리하고, 이를 연구방법론과 연결하고자 했다. 이를 위해 첫째, 경관과 대중의 인식과의 관계를 나타내는 개념적 틀을 생태 미학적 관점에서 재정의했다. 이 관계에서 특히 디자인 및 정보가 개입하여 나타나는 조절 효과에 대해 보여준다. 이 틀로부터 도출되는 세 가지 하위 주제는 다음과 같다. (1) 생태적 기능과 경관 선호도의 상호관계, (2) 경관중재: 생태적 기능도 보호하고, 미적 가치도 확보할 수 있는 절충된 디자인 전략, (3) 정보중재: 생태에 대한 정보가 미적 경험에 미치는 중재 효과가 그것이다. 세 가지 주제는 개념적 틀에서 보여지듯, 서로 영향을 주고받는 관계이며, 각 영역의 연구 시 다른 영역의 고려가 필요하다. 세 가지 하위 주제에 따라 기존의 이론적, 실증적 연구들을 방법론적 관점에서 검토하고, 한계를 지적하며, 보완 가능한 방법론 등을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 그 동안 해석적이고 이론적인 담론에 그쳐왔던 생태미학을 개념적 틀을 통해 정리하고, 각 영역을 넘어선 방법론적 고려를 제시함으로써 생태미학의 방법론을 보완하는데 그 의의가 있다.

In recent decades, as it becomes increasingly important to monitor and research long-term ecological changes, worldwide attempts are being conducted to integrate and manage ecological data in a unified framework. Especially domestic ecological data in South Korea should be first standardized based on predefined common protocols for data integration, since they are often scattered over many different systems in various forms. Additionally, foreign ecological data should be converted into a proper unified format to be used along with domestic data for association studies. In this study, our interest is to integrate ECN data with Korean domestic ecological data under our unified framework. For this purpose, we employed our semi-automatic data conversion tool to standardize foreign data and utilized ground beetle (Carabidae) datasets collected from 12 different observatory sites of ECN. We believe that our attempt to convert domestic and foreign ecological data into a standardized format in a systematic way will be quite useful for data integration and association analysis in many ecological and environmental studies.

Although people's anxiety about the environmental problem has been getting higher, they are not provided good quality of knowledge about the environment. Based on this situation, Ecoblog can be a new type of online community to educate the public in ecological knowledge. Especially, Ecoblog can be utilized as a method of "preventive education", and it will contribute to reduce great amounts of environmental budget to restore contaminated environment to previous condition. Ecoblog also utilizes the concept of blog which user can create and append their site with chosen themes. A weblog or a blog is a non-commercial webpage regularly updated through the use of a blogging software which allows the user to "publish" kinds of amalgamations of text and graphics to the page as posts. The technology offered in Ecoblog is utilizing the concept of 4D place and game metaphor in order to provide users the sense of participation, interaction and immersion among them and the growing community. Thus, it requires applying the CAAD technology by implementing semantically well-defined building data model as a core database to create a 4D virtual community. This research focuses on defining a 4d spatial framework suitable for developing an online ecological community. Through our study, the state-of-the-art of online community has been studied at the first step. Second, the scenario of using EcoBlog described with content, visualization and navigation are defined based on the critical features derived at the first step. Finally, a 4d spatial framework composed of semantic building data model, content and rule database is constructed to propose factors that are necessary to establish an ecological virtual community. In conclusion, our framework could enhance the comprehension and interaction between users and virtual buildings in the ecological community by integrating the concept of game design, 4D CAD and semantic data model. Such framework can be applied to any online community for an educational purpose.

The aim of this study is to examine the linkage between environmental theory and physical development such as housing estate developments. Firstly, this paper examines environmentalism to see varying approaches in the resolution of environmental problems. Here, Technocentrism, Econcentrism and Ecosocialism was seen as dominant theoretical approaches. Secondly, an international case study on ecological housing development was conducted. Four German, Australian, Japan and Korean examples were taken as cases which revealed a wide spectrum of development tendencies. An analytical framework of building methods evaluated by the environmental theories was established. And by evaluating the cases with this framework, we were able to find out the overall environmental character of each housing developments. The hypothesis of this paper is that these differences can be explained through the differences that exist in society which the theoretical represents. The research revealed strong linkage with social tendencies.

This paper focuses on the current internationally published literature on adolescent girls smoking prevention and cessation programs. Published literature on prevention and cessation programs that have been developed for and used with girls, especially those with published effectiveness data are reviewed separately. Using relevant literature and the results of a recent Delphi Study identifying program components experts cited as most effective for female smoking prevention, a human ecological framework for designing programs for female adolescents will be proposed. Areas for further research will also be identified.

This study was aimed at developing and providing textbook writers with information and materials required to introduce forest education ideas and paradigm into primary, middle, and high school students, responding to establishment of the new national curriculum. Research methods included interview with school teachers, literature review on forest education and policy, analysis of writings and drawings of elementary school students. As a primary result, the study produced a framework that can be applied to analyze and understand how people think of and put a value on forest, consisting of 1) Resource-Economic Perspective, 2) Environmental-Ecological Perspective, 3) Cultural-Educational Perspective, and 4) Existential-Ethical Perspective. To test its validity, the developed framework was applied to the processes of reorganizing and interpreting the outcomes of teacher interview and writings and drawings of elementary school students. The results of applications showed that current school education mostly focused on ecological-environmental (about 50%) and cultural-educational (about 30%) perspectives on forest. To improve the quality of current forest education in schools, five main directions including integration, balance, interrelatedness, identity, and systematic approaches were suggested.

Challenges brought by applications of advanced technologies in education call for new approaches that can best ensure the provision of quality e-learning experiences. This paper presents an ecological approach as one of such approaches to quality assurance in e-learning that can monitor, assess and improve the effectiveness and the links between the various elements of e-learning. The ecological model for QA in e-learning emphasizes interrelation transactions between elements (e.g. providers, learners, cultures and policies) and systemic integration of those elements, and stresses that all these elements within a QA system play an equal role in maintaining balance of the whole. The model focuses attention both on individual and societal/cultural environmental factors as cornerstones for QA efforts in e-learning. It addresses the importance of QA efforts directed at changing QA transactions from provider-centered to 'all stakeholder-oriented', from one-size-fits-all model to 'globally oriented, locally adaptive model' and from control framework to 'culture creation framework'.

Indonesia has undergone the rapid deforestation largely as a result of practical consequences of human overexploitation of the forest. Between 1950 and 2015, around 43% of the forest area in Indonesia had been lost (68.0 million hectares). The process of deforestation has partly been a response to the rapidly intensifying 'global' and 'domestic' economic demands. Deforestation in Indonesia is also indirectly due to 'materialism-driven' value system and the corresponding weakening of Indonesian ethics. Therefore, given that socio-cultural expressions of modern Indonesian value systems have mostly taken place within a framework of Islam, the aim of the paper is to attempt to find Islamic ethics in general, which can provide the basis of ecological ethics to prevent rapid deforestation in Indonesia. The paper is composed of the followings. First, following the 'Introduction', it outlines the historical process of deforestation in Indonesia and also its corresponding socio-economic contexts. Then it moves on to talk about ecological ethics in general, thereby emphasizing that the phenomenological problem of deforestation needs to be conceived at a philosophical level beyond ecological phenomena. After discussing the ecological ethics, the paper proceeds to examine Islamic ethics as a canonical framework of ecological ethics in Indonesia. In doing so, it attempts to apply the Islamic ethics to the diverse Indonesian society and then considers 'Pancasila' as a potential framework for a pragmatic link between Islam ethics and Indonesian society. Having said that, in conclusion, the paper argues that there is a need for 'concrete' translation of 'Pancasila' into implementation in an Indonesian context, thereby various agents (government, policy-practitioners, concessionaires and also all the Indonesian) may agree in saying 'no' to overexploitation of the forest, to rapid depletion of the forest and to 'unsustainable' development practices.

생태계는 우리의 생존과 삶의 질을 유지할 수 있게 하여 인간 복지에 직, 간접적으로 기여하고 있다. 그래서 생태적 기능의 계량화 방법이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 응용생태공학에 생태계서비스를 도입하고 적용하는 것에 대하여 논의하였다. 하천의 경제적 가치, 도시 블루-그린-화이트 네트워크 구축, 생태복원 및 통합 물관리에 생태계서비스 개념 및 평가체계를 적용할 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다. 생태계서비스 개념 틀과 평가는 이해해당사자의 생태계 혜택 이해에 도움을 주고 응용생태공학 적용을 증가시켜 생태적 보호와 복원 가치의 증진에 이용될 수 있다.
