  • Digital ink-jet printing technology using ceramic ink, which is thermally stable at high temperature above $1000^{\circ}C$, has an advantage of eco-friendly process applicable to manufacturing products with an excellent durability and various designs. Recently, replacement from conventional manufacturing process to digital process using ink-jet printing technique has been significantly accelerated in ceramic tile industry. In this study, we investigated ink-jet printability of ceramic ink on ceramic tile. Cyan, magenta, yellow, black ceramic inks, which are digital primary color of ink-jet printing, were printed on glazed surface of ceramic tiles, and their printabilities were comparatively analyzed. High temperature sintering process is generally required for manufacturing ceramic products, thus effect of sintering process on printed pattern of ceramic ink was also investigated by analyzing ink penetration depth and ink dot area.

  • Due to the increase in consumers' interest about well-being, interest in eco-friendly products has been increasing due to the harmful effects of various harmful substances contained in textile products and environmental issues. As a result, natural dyes of less potential risk than synthetic dyes and digital textile printing(DTP) textile products with less environmental pollution are drawing attention. However, due to the lack of evaluation criteria for DTP textile products with natural ink and the nature of many colors are stacked layer by layer for dying, the need for simultaneous analysis is emerging. To evaluate whether the natural dye is derived from natural ingredients, the biocarbon content is analyzed. However, in the case of ink made using natural dyes and DTP textile products using natural ink, it is difficult to analyze the biocarbon content due to the limitation of the presence of a small amount of dye contained therein. In this study, we were shown the possibility of natural derived verification by cross-checking the analytes of natural dyes (Persicaria tinctoria, an indigo dye; Dactylopius coccus, a light red; and Curcum longa L., i.e., turmeric) and natural ink with HPLC-MS/MS. The coefficient of determination was 0.999 or higher, the limit of quantification was 0.647-3.664 ㎍/L and a %RSD of each indicator material was less than 10. Then, the extraction amount of natural dyes for five patterned fabrics was analyzed.

  • While art and culture always actively intervene and send messages to social issues and issues, there are critics who say that the way they show them goes against environmental issues. Therefore, this study compared and analyzed the environment-friendly methods applied to four types of exhibitions held at existing domestic art museums in order to derive environmentally sustainable exhibition content planning and operation plans. By deriving the method commonly applied to the four exhibitions, the wooden temporary walls that are discarded through local remanufacturing, use of waste resources, and prefabricated module walls were minimized. In addition, when printing/publishing, there were methods such as grafting eco-friendly inks and materials or avoiding the production of unnecessary printed matter. Based on these common factors, a plan that can be applied to each stage of exhibition hall construction and construction, printing and publishing, and exhibition hall operation was derived. However, it is necessary to approach more diverse cases in the future, and it is necessary to supplement the points to enhance scientific explanatory power in quantitative terms.

  • Ink-jet printing technology with ceramic ink of the four digital primary colors (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black; CMYK) can provide stable coloration even in the high-temperature firing process. Ceramic ink-jet printing can be widely applied in construction and ceramic industries due to the advantages of accurate and fast printing process of digital images for various products. Generally, organic solvent with proper viscosity and surface tension has been used in digital ink-jet printing process. However, the needs of ceramic ink without VOCs emission is increasing. In the present study, eco-friendly ceramic ink was synthesized by combining alumino boro-silicate glass frit and $CoAl_2O_4$ inorganic pigment based on an aqueous solvent that does not generate VOCs. The rheological properties and dispersion stability of aqueous ceramic ink were optimized. Jetting behavior and printing characteristics of the ceramic ink were also investigated in detail. As a result, the formulated aqueous ceramic complex ink showed a suitable jetting behavior without satellite drop by adjusting viscosity and surface tension. The ceramic ink can be printed on glass substrate with minimized spreading phenomena duo to high contact angle.

  • In this paper, trends on technology of metal and ceramic nanoparticle inks using eco-friendly process were reviewed. There are two types of eco-friendly processes, dry and wet. In case of dry process, gas evaporation process was being used to synthesize the ultrafine nanoparticles. Also, in case of wet process, low temperature process excluding harmful elements such as $Cl^-$ and ${NO_3}^-$ was being used to synthesize the ultrafine nanoparticles. Sizes of nanoparticles were less than 10 nm using the eco-friendly processes, and the nanoparticles were well dispersed into ink solvent. The ink was successfully applied to fabricate directly printed pattern.

  • Every day a huge amount of paper is being used, most of them are thrown after using. This directly impacts on the environment. Therefore, waste paper management is necessity to protect the environment from its annihilation and pollution. Paper recycling products consist of printing paper, newspaper, corrugated containers, magazine paper and so on. Reuse waste paper will reduce the consumption of wood and virgin pulp as recycling one ton of newsprint can save approximately 1 ton of wood, meanwhile recycling 1 ton of printing paper can save more than 2 tons of wood. With increasing recycling rates, lower quality paper fractions may be included. Thus the selection of a paper recycling technology is a crucial first design consideration. The paper recycling must be accompanied by appropriate technology to manage a huge volume of wastepaper. The specific objectives of this study were as follows: (1) comprehensive literature reviews of paper production and consumption, (2) figure out about paper recovery and utilization, (3) investigate the paper recycling in the sustainable times, (4) introduce eco-friendly recycling technology to paper industry.

  • Fused filament fabrication (FFF) is a process extruding and stacking materials. PLA materials are one of the most frequently used materials for FFF method of 3D printing. Polylactic acid (PLA)-based materials are among the most widely used materials for FFF-based three-dimensional (3D) printing. PLA is an eco-friendly material made using starch extracted from corn, as opposed to plastic made using conventional petroleum resin; PLA-based materials are used in various fields, such as packaging, aerospace, and medicines. However, it is important to analyze the mechanical properties of theses materials, such as elastic strength, before using them as structural materials. In this study, the reliability of PLA-based materials is assessed through an analysis of the changes in the linear elasticity of these materials under thermal degradation by applying a hyperelastic analytical model.

  • Appearance finish is important for amorphous buildings to maximize amorphousness, and GFRC, glass, and metal are mostly used as exterior materials for amorphous buildings currently applied. However, the existing exterior materials showed limitations in amorphous expression, texture, and color expression. In this study, a 3D stereoscopic panel mold was manufactured using the FDM method, one of the 3D printing technologies, and 3D stereoscopic panel production was reviewed using Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC), which has excellent physical and mechanical performance and expression. In order to overcome the limitations of unstructured expression, a UHPC 3D stereoscopic panel using the FDM method, one of the 3D printing technologies, was manufactured. Unlike steel molds, FRP molds, and EPS molds, the FDM method can be applied to various materials, and complex shapes are implemented. If it is used using recyclable materials as well as PLA filaments used in the FDM method, it will overcome the limitations of amorphous expression and activate the production of 3D stereoscopic panels that have secured eco-friendliness.

  • Recently, the demand for eco-friendly parts has increased to reduce materials and parts that use fossil fuels. This has exacerbated the increase of energy prices and the enforcement of regulations by environmental agencies. Currently, polylactic acid (PLA) is a solution, as a common and eco-friendly material. PLA is a biodegradable material that can replace traditional petrochemical polymers. PLA has great advantages since it is resistant to cracking and shrinkage. When it is manufactured, there are few harmful byproducts. Improvement in the brittleness characteristics is another important task to be monitored throughout the production of industrial parts. Improvement in the brittleness property of products lowers the tensile strength and tensile elasticity modulus of the parts. This study focused on the mechanical properties of 3D-printed PLA parts. Tensile tests are performed while varying the infill print parameters to evaluate the applicability of PLA in several industrial areas.
