Has Eco-friendly Management Influence on the Customer's Purchasing Intention at Franchise Korean-restaurant

  • The purpose of this article was to study the influence of eco-friendly management on customer's purchasing-intention at franchise Korean restaurants. In this research, factor analysis and multi regression analysis were used. Eco-friendly management was divided into 4 factors. Eco friendly service affected positively brand image (p<0.05). Energy saving positively affected brand image (p<0.005). Contribution to local society positively affected brand image (p<0.05). Menu composition affected the most positively brand image (p<0.001). At last, brand image had positive influence on purchasing intention (p<0.001). According to these results, we confirmed that the factors of eco friendly management influenced significantly on the customers' perception of brand image. As a result, food service corporations need to deal with the factors of eco friendly management efficiently. The findings of this research would help business management to build effective service marketing strategies and to satisfy the needs of customers at franchise Korean restaurants.

학교 생태 감사의 학교 환경교육 적용 및 효과 분석 (A Study on the Effect of the Application of School Eco-Audit in School Environmental Education)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out educational effect of school environmental education utilized school eco-audit. The result of the study is as followings. First, environmental education program based on school eco-audit was developed. Environmental education program was applied school environmental education. According to developed program, students surveyed environmental problem of school and drove to solution of environmental problem. Second, after environmental education, students became to recognize the fact we are responsible for the environmental problem and also affect the solution of it too much. Also, result showed that will to save energy and resource get higher. In conclusion, school eco-audit is effective cultivation of positive attitude for solution and responsibility of environmental problem. Therefore school eco-audit have to introduce school environmental education because school eco-audit derive participation for solution of environmental problem and learning of decision-making.

풍력 Sail 돛 제어장치를 이용한 친환경 태양광 레져보트의 하이브리드 발전시스템 관련 성능평가에 대한 연구 (Performance Evaluation and Technical Development of Eco-environmental Photovoltaic Leisure Ship with Sail-controlling Device With Respect to Solar-Hybrid Generating System)

  • As a new technical approach, an attempt was made to realize a photovoltaic system for an eco-environmental leisure ship by simultaneously actuating nine photovoltaic solar panels in association with the application of a sail-controlling system using wind energy. In this approach, the photovoltaic system consisted of a solar module, an inverter, a battery, and the relevant components, while the sail-controlling device was equipped with sail up/down and mast turning systems. The previously mentioned eco-environmental leisure ship utilizes a photovoltaic hybrid system that uses solar and wind energy as renewable energy sources. Furthermore, this research included a performance evaluation of the manufactured prototype, the acquisition of the purposed quantity values, and development of the purposed items. The significant items, including the sail up/down speed (seconds) and mast turning angle (degrees) were evaluated for a performance test. A wind direction sensitivity of 90% and maximum instant charging power of 900 W were also obtained in the process of the performance evaluation. In addition, the maximum sail time was also evaluated in order to acquire the optimum value. The performance evaluation showed that the prototype with a photovoltaic hybrid system was suitable for sailing an eco-environmental leisure ship using solar and wind energy.

  • The SK Chemical R&D center is an eco-friendly building designed as top score in the GBCC(GREEN BUILDING CERTIFICATE CRITERIA). This building has applied various eco-friendly technologies such as energy /water resource cutdown, improvement of indoor quality and improvement of user convenience, etc through eco-friendly concept from the design phase. In this thesis, an economic efficiency evaluation has been performed on building energy cwater resource cutdown technologies among them and the results are as follows. The building energy has cut down about 40% compared to ordinary buildings and the investment recovery period was shown as about 5 years. The water resource has cut down about 63% compared to ordinary buildings and the investment recovery period was shown as about 10 years.

Investigation of EVA Accelerated Degradation Test for Silicon Photovoltaic Modules

  • Renewable energy has become more popular with the increase in the use of solar power. Consequently, the disposal of defective and old solar panels is gradually increasing giving rise to a new problem. Furthermore, the efficiency and power output decreases with aging. Researchers worldwide are engaged in solving this problem by developing eco-module technologies that restore and reuse the solar panels according to the defect types rather than simple disposal. The eco-module technology not only solves the environmental problem, but also has economic advantages, such as extending the module life. Replacement of encapsulants contributes to a major portion of the module maintenance plan, as the degradation of encapsulants accounts for 60% of the problems found in modules over the past years. However, the current International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard testing was designed for the commercialization of solar modules. As the problem caused by long-term use is not considered, this method is not suitable for the quality assurance evaluation of the eco-module. Therefore, to design a new accelerated test, this paper provides an overview of EVA degradation and comparison with the IEC and accelerated tests.

FedEx Earth Smart: Practices of Environment-Friendly Management

  • With the recent increasing interest in sustainability management, the latest environmental report tends to be substituted by the expanded sustainability management report. In this work, I would like to introduce the management pattern of a global enterprise that values environmental soundness (environmental friendly) and implements eco-friendly measures. The enterprise chosen in this study is FedEx. In this article, FedEx case is presented how companies can adopt environmental friendly management in their businesses. FedEx has maintained an eco-friendly management since the introduction of the company's eco-friendly transport trucks in 2003, following its development in 2000. In 2005, it installed a solar power plant that can supply up to 80% of the electricity consumed by Oakland Logistics Center in California, USA. FedEx has published the "Global Enterprise Citizenship Report," which contains its business developments in 2009. FedEx has worked hard to minimize the influence caused by packaging of goods to the environment and appealed to customers to use recycled products as much as they can. FedEx also encourages customers to use packaging materials efficiently. A considerable amount of energy has been expended in the eco-friendly programs of FedEx. Although thousands of FedEx vehicles and aircraft operate daily with using large amounts of electricity and fuel, FedEx focuses on energy savings and global environment protection.

Fe(II)/과황산/전기화학적 산화 공정에 의한 2,4-D의 제거 (Removal of 2,4-D by an Fe(II)/persulfate/Electrochemical Oxidation Process)

  • The removal of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) in aqueous solution by coupled electro-oxidation and Fe(II) activated persulfate oxidation process was investigated. The electrochemical oxidation was performed using carbon sheet electrode and persulfate using Fe(II) ion as an activator. The oxidation efficiency was investigated by varying current density (2 - 10 mA/㎠), electrolyte (Na2SO4) concentration (10 - 100 mM), persulfate concentration (5 - 20 mM), and Fe(II) concentration (10 - 20 mM). The 2,4-D removal efficiency was in the order of Fe(II) activated persulfate-assisted electrochemical oxidation (Fe(II)/PS/ECO, 91%) > persulfate-electrochemical oxidation (PS/ECO, 51%) > electro-oxidation (EO, 36%). The persulfate can be activated by electron transfer in PS/ECO system, however, the addition of Fe(II) as an activator enhanced 2,4-D degradation in the Fe(II)/PS/ECO system. The 2,4-D removal efficiency was not affected by the initial pHs (3 - 9). The presence of anions (Cl- and HCO3-) inhibited the 2,4-D removal in Fe(II)/PS/ECO system due to scavenging of sulfate radical. Scavenger experiment using tert-butyl alcohol (TBA) and methanol (MeOH) confirmed that although both sulfate (SO4•-) and hydroxyl (•OH) radicals existed in Fe(II)/PS/ECO system, hydroxyl radical (SO4•-) was the predominant radical.

  • As interest in sustainable and eco-friendly energy sources is increasing due to various problems in the carbon society, a hydrogen economy using hydrogen as a main energy source is emerging. While the natural gas reforming method generates carbon dioxide, the water electrolysis method based on renewable energy is eco-friendly. The water electrolysis device currently being developed uses a 2 Nm3/hr class alkaline aqueous solution as an electrolyte and produces hydrogen based on renewable energy.   • Biodiesel is one of the most important renewable energy, since it is one of the most important alternative and eco-friendly energy source compared to fossil energy, especially for diesel engineequipped vehicles. It is now coming up for preparation of biodiesel as the alternative that applies the hetrogeneous catalyst, super critical state and various methods used in order to reduce the stages of the processes be converted and separation stages started from oil and fat which are originated from animals and wastes, and those new methods bring eco-friendly as well, though some of those are stand on research step so far. It is necessary that nation provides the tax exemption program for the supplier and strengthen the research system for the farming crops relate to fat and oil. It can improve the development of biodiesel which sustains stability against oxidation and keeps good mobility over the low temperatures in the winter season by new additives and develops new processes to show good harmony with diesel engine.

친환경농업을 기반으로 하는 에너지 순환형 마을조성 모델개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of the Model for Construction of Energy Circulating Village based on the Eco-friendly Agriculture)

  • The green craze has hit all the world lately. The green revolution which means immense changes for sustainable development under the new environment-economy system is foretelling that we should have new angle to the environment and economy. This paper is about the development of the model and indicators for construction of ECO(Energy Circulating Organic)-Village which is the green growth option of local community. This model is composed of three concepts - SPDC (about procedural methodology of Model), Virtuous Circle (about functional relationships of three requisites), Network (about spatial relationships between communities) - and evaluation indicators. Environment, tourism, industry (Energy & Organic Agriculture) are set as the three requisites for green growth of local community. Nations of the world plunge into the green war which is silent, general, sweeping changes. We can not win this war with the existing thinking system and policy. We need revolutionary changes reconsidering of environmental value and sustainable development strategy of the region. Each of us should go through the changes and this work would be the one among those efforts.
