잡음 상황에서 DUET 블라인드 신호 분리 알고리즘과 스케일 계수 추정을 이용한 음향 반향신호 제거 (Acoustic Echo Cancellation using the DUET Algorithm and Scaling Factor Estimation)

  • In this paper, a new acoustic echo cancellation approach based on the DUET algorithm and scaling factor estimation is proposed to solve the scaling ambiguity in case of blind separation based acoustic echo cancellation in a noisy environment. In hands-free full-duplex communication system. acoustic noises picked up by the microphone are mixed with echo signal. For this reason, the echo cancellation system may provide poor performance. For that purpose, a degenerate unmixing estimation technique, adjusted in the time-frequency domain, is employed to separate undesired echo signals and noises. Also, since scaling and permutation ambiguities have not been solved in the blind source separation algorithm, kurtosis for the desired signal selection and a scaling factor estimation algorithm are utilized in this rarer for the separation of an echo signal. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach yields better echo cancellation and noise reduction performances, compared with conventional methods.

  • In this paper, an efficient nonlinear echo cancellation method is proposed, whereby the fast block exact Gauss-Seidel pseudo affine projection (FBEGS-PAP) is further utilized for adaptive Volterra filtering. In particular, the proposed nonlinear echo cancellation approach requires lower computational complexity as in the conventional linear adaptive echo cancellation methods based on NLMS and GS-PAP, and still provides nonlinear echo cancellation performance similar to the GS-PAP method. Finally, echo cancellation performance of the proposed approach is demonstrated by providing some simulation results.

  • In this paper, a robust nonlinear echo cancellation is proposed, where a third-order adaptive Volterra filtering is employed along with an expanded correlation LMS (ECLMS) algorithm to compensate for nonlinear distortion in the echo path. (e.g., DAC of the hybrid network). Finally, the robustness in the echo cancellation of the proposed approach is demonstrated using computer simulations, where high attenuation of echo signals is achieved even in the double-talk situation (e.n., BdB improvement in ERLE).

  • 본 논문에서는 독립성분분석을 이용한 음향 반향제거 방법을 제안하였다. 음향반향제거기의 마이크로폰에 반향 이외의 잡음이 부가될 경우 반향제거기의 성능은 저하된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 두 개의 마이크로폰을 이용하여 반향과 선형으로 섞인 잡음을 받은 후 독립성분 분석 기법을 통해 반향과 잡음을 분리하였다. 그리고 분리된 반향 신호를 반향제거기에 사용되는 적응 알고리듬의 기준 신호로 이용함으로서 반향제거기의 성능을 향상시켰다. 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통해 제안한 방법의 타당성을 확인하였다.

  • In hands-free full-duplex communication systems, acoustic signals picked up by the microphones can be mixed with echo signals as well as noises, which may result in poor performance of the corresponding communication system. Also, the system performance may decrease further if the reverberation occurs since it is harder to estimate the impulse response of the demixing system. For blind source separation (BSS) in such cases, a time-frequency masking approach can be employed to separate undesired echo signals and noises, but, permutation ambiguities also should be solved for the echo cancellation. In this paper, we propose a new acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) approach utilizing the time-frequency masking and higher-order statistics, whereby a desired signal selection, based on coherence and third-order statistics (i.e., kurtosis), is introduced along with output signal normalization. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach yields better echo and noise cancellation performances than the conventional AEC approaches.

Acoustic Echo Canceller using Adaptive IIR Filters with Prewhitening Method and Variable Step-Size LMS Algorithm

  • The future teleconferencing systems will need an appropriate system which controls properly the acoustic echo for the convenient communication. The conventional acoustic echo cancellation algorithms involve large adaptive filters identifying the impulse response of the echo path. The use of adaptive IIR filters appears to be a reasonable way to reduce computational complexity. Effective cancellation of acoustic echo presented in teleconferencing system requires that adaptive filters have a rapid convergence speed. One of the main problems of acoustic echo cancellation techniques is that the convergence properties degrade for an highly correlated signal input such as speech signals. By the way, the introduction of linear prediction filers onto the structure of the acoustic echo cancellation represents one approach to decorrelate the speech signal. And variable step-size LMS algorithm improves the convergence speed through a little increasing of computational complexity. In this paper, we applied these two methods to the acoustic echo canceller(AEC) and showed that these methods have better performances than the conventional AEC.

  • An efficient echo cancellation method, which controls the echo caused from the PSTN, is proposed. In our situation, the PSTN is connected to the mobile subscriber and the base-station which use different bit-rate CVSD(continuously variable slope delta modulation) coders and echo canceller is installed at the location of the base-station. By using the symmetry of the coder pairs. the proposed method shortens the echo pate length and reduces the nonlinear distortion inherent in the coders. And it is implemented in the decoded signal region, so fitted to the general-purpose DSP implementation. We also proposed a echo cancellation method using the combined bit-stream so as to implement without the multipliers onto the VLSI. It has an improved echo cancellation performance by reducing the high frequency noises in the coders. And it has an reduced complexity by reducing the excitation rate of the bit-stream.

네트웍 반향제거기의 성능 향상 (Performance Improvement of the Network Echo Canceller)

  • In this paper, an improved network echo canceller is proposed. The proposed echo canceller is based on the LTJ(lattice transversal joint) adaptive filter which uses informations from the speech decoder. In the proposed implementation method of the network echo canceller, the filer coefficients of the transversal filter part in the LTJ adaptive filter is updated every other sample instead of every sample. So its complexity can be lower than that of the transversal filter. And the echo cancellation rate can be improved by residual echo cancellation using the lattice predictor whose order is less than 10. Computational complexity of the proposed echo canceller is lower than that of the transversal filter but the convergence speed is faster than that of the transversal filter. The performance improvement of the proposed echo canceller was verified by the experiments using the real speech signal and speech coder.

  • In this brief, Acoustic echo cancellation scheme is proposed to enhance the presence of multiple participants of hands-free voice and video conference. Synthetic stereo using head related transfer function and the stereo echo cancellation scheme are proposed. It is shown that the proposed synthetic stereo echo cancellation scheme is well performed by computer simulation.

  • In this paper, a nonlinear echo cancellation approach, based on a Gauss-Seidel pseudo affine projection algorithm and Volterra filtering, is proposed to compensate for echo path nonlinearity in the telephone network. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach yields reduction of computational complexity and improved convergence speed than the conventional nonlinear echo cancellation methods (NLMS, ECLMS, FAP, RLS).
