Our Digital Carousel enables user to share media objects through media synchronization mechanism. We implemented the Digital Carousel so that the users participated in collaborative work may refer shared media or error objects as the same view to others. This paper explains the design and implementation of the EC_DXS(Error Control in Digital Carousel System). EC_DCS is a system that is suitable for detecting sharing and recovering software error based on multimedia CSCW(Computer Supportes Cooperated Work). With error sharing system, a group cooperating users can share me. applications. From the perspective of multimedia collaborative environment, an error application becomes another interactive presentation error is shared with participant engaged in a cooperative work.

As metformin can inhibit endometrial carcinoma (EC) cell growth and the insulin growth factor (IGF) system is active in EC, the question of whether it can regulate endometrial carcinoma cell secretion of IGF-1 or expression of IGF-1 receptor (IGF-1R) is of interest. In this study, serum IGF-1 levels in EC patients were found to be comparable with that in the non EC patients (p>0.05). However, the IGF-1 level in the medium of cultured cells after treatment with metformin was decreased (p<0.05). IGF-1R was highly expressed in human endometrial carcinoma paraffin sections, but IGF-1R and phosphor-protein kinase B/protein kinase B (p-Akt/Akt) expression was down-regulated after metformin treatment (p<0.05). In summary, metformin can reduce the secretion of IGF-1 by Ishikawa and JEC EC cell lines and their expression of IGF-1R to deactivate downstream signaling involving the PI-3K/Akt pathway to inhibit endometrial carcinoma cell growth.

Many studies have reported ${\beta}$-catenin involvement in the development of esophageal carcinoma (EC), but its prognostic significance for EC patients remains controversial. Therefore, we conducted this meta-analysis to explore the issue in detail. After searching PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, we included a total of ten relevant studies. We pooled the overall survival (OS) data using RevMan 5.2 software. The results showed that aberrant expression of ${\beta}$-catenin was associated with a significant increase of mortality risk (hazard ratio 1.71, 95%CI 1.46-2.01; p<0.00001). Subgroup analyses further suggested that aberrant expression of ${\beta}$-catenin resulted in poor OS of EC patients regardless of histological type of EC, study location or criteria for aberrant expression of ${\beta}$-catenin, and the sensitivity analyses revealed that the result was robust. The meta-analysis revealed that aberrant expression of ${\beta}$-catenin could be a predicative factor of poor prognosis for EC patients.

Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) plays a central role in folate metabolism. This study with 381 esophageal cancer patients and 432 healthy controls was conducted to examine the association of MTHFR C677T and A1298C polymorphisms with susceptibility to esophageal cancer (EC) in a Chinese population. Compared with the CC genotype of MTHFR C677T, subjects carrying homozygote TT and variant genotypes (CT+TT) demonstrated reduced risk of EC with adjusted ORs (95% CI) of 0.44 (0.28-0.71) and 0.57 (0.37-0.88), respectively. However, no association was found between the MTHFR A1298C polymorphism and the risk of EC. Comparing to haplotype CA, haplotypes TA and TC could reduce the susceptibility to EC with adjusted ORs (95% CI) of 0.61(0.47-0.79) and 0.06 (0.01-0.43), respectively. In conclusion, the present study suggested that the MTHFR C677T polymorphism can markedly influence the risk of EC in Chinese.

Objectives: This study was conducted to evaluate the clinical efficacy of EC102, a composition containing oriental medicine, for relieving VDT syndrome, including eye symptoms and musculo-skeletal symptoms. Methods: The study was conducted by using a double blind randomized controlled trial design. 40 subjects were randomly assigned to the placebo group or the EC102 group. The visual analogous scale (VAS) was used to evaluate various VDT symptoms, including eye pain, eye fatigue, back pain, shoulder pain and so on. Refractory indexes were measured using refractometer, and tear film break-up time (BUT) were measured using fluorescein strip. Blood circulation was measured using photo-plethysmography. Blood pressure and blood biochemistry were also measured. Statistical analysis was conducted by a Mann-Whitney test using SPSS 9.0 software. Results: The EC102 group showed a statistically significant reduction of eye symptoms including eye fatigue, eyelid fatigue, itching, pain, and photophobia when compared with the placebo group (P<0.05). The EC102 group also showed a statistically significant reduction of back pain compared with the placebo group (P<0.05). No side effects on liver function and blood biochemistry were observed. Conclusions: EC102 has significant clinical efficacy for relieving symptoms of VDT syndrome.

The number of internet electronic commerce users has increased steadily and EC is now considered not only as the communication tools, but also as the economic activity. But in spite of these global trends, current studies limited to managerial approach are insufficient in the evaluation of EC policies and situations. The purpose of this study are to present satisfaction of customers who will operate foreign internet shopping mall, and to analysis after-purchase behavior on EC satisfaction. As a result of making regression analysis, for its satisfaction. the hypotheses on "Shopping Mall Contents", "Information supply", "Convenience of order process", "Economy", "The reliability", "Customer Service" were accepted at the p<.0.05 level of significance, for its after purchase behavior, the hypotheses on "Shopping Mall structure", "Convenience of order process", "Economy", "The reliability", etc factors were accepted at the p<0.05 level of significant in 4 factors. In order words, electronic commerce satisfaction became greater when better convenience and economy were provided, the ethics were observed better, more diverse information was supplied and better system support was given, and those who had a higher educational background or better perception of electronic commerce felt more satisfaction. Finally, more usefulness of electronic commerce led to bigger satisfaction after purchase.

Since realization of E-voting system expands participation of voters and efficient count of voting, political and social and technical revolution is possible. However, without secure e-voting system, practical usages are infeasible. In the paper, we propose an e-voting system which is able to open votes in server without decryption during midst process using EC-ELGAMAL homomorphic cryptography. Users ensure anonymity with pseudo id from server and check their voting with Bloom Filter technology. Furthermore, we combine attributes and voters' information, so we can collect information of voter under the condition of anonymity.

Recent concrete structures have been being constructed with higher strength concrete than normal strength concrete. Therefore, it is necessary to review the applicabilities of current design codes and models for the prediction of mechanical behaviors of concrete materials such as creep. To investigate the applicability of creep model with the consideration of the strength level of concrete, three current models (ACI 209R, CEB-FIP MC90 and EC2) were studied and compared with series of experimental results. It was shown that EC2 model which is the updated model of CEB-FIP MC90 better predicts creep coefficient for high strength level concretes and showed relatively good agreements with experimental data.

The behavior of de levels in rapid thermal annealed Fe-doped semi-insulating InP(100) was studied by photoinduced current transient spectrocopy(PICTS). In bulk InP, T2(Ec-0.24 eV), T3(Ec-0.30 eV) and T5(Ec-0.62 eV) traps were observed. After annealing the T2 trap was annihilated at 20$0^{\circ}C$ and recreated at 35$0^{\circ}C$. T3 trap was not affected below 40$0^{\circ}C$. With increasing temperature the concentration of T5 trap reduced and it was annihilated at 30$0^{\circ}C$. However the T1(Ec-0.16 eV) and T4(Ec-0.42 eV) traps were began to appear at 40$0^{\circ}C$and these concentrations were increased with annealing temperature. The T1 and T4 traps seem to be related to the isolated phosphorus vacancy( $V_{p}$) and $V_{p}$-indium antisite( $V_{p}$- $P_{in}$ ) or $V_{p}$-indium interstitial( $V_{p}$-I $n_{I}$) respectiely.respectiely.

In a PEM fuel cell electrode, backing layer has tremendous impact on electrode performance. The backing layer provides structural support for the porous electrode, distributes the reactants to the other layers and acts as a current collector. It has major influence on the water management in a PEM fuel cell. Selection of suitable backing layer material for the fabrication of electrode is thus very important to achieve high performance. In this paper we have compared the performance of PEM fuel cell electrodes fabricated using carbon paper EC-TPI-060T, carbon cloth EC-CCI-060T, (ElectroChem Inc.USA) and Carbon cloth from Textron, USA (CPW 003 grade). Mass transport problem was observed under non-pressurized condition, at high current densities, in the caie of EC-CC1-060T carbon cloth electrode (at $50^{\circ}C$), due to its higher thickness. The performance of carbon paper electrode was higher than EC-CCI-060T carbon cloth electrode. The performance of Textron carbon cloth was comparable to EC-TPI -060T carbon paper.
