The purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact of distributors on the movie exhibition by distributor types. For the analysis, the concept 'screen elasticity of box office' is adopted. Using the weekly screening data of 94 hit movies released in Korea in 2014 and 2015, the panel analysis estimates the 'screen elasticity of box office' with the Hausman-Taylor estimator. The results show that the screen elasticity of box office is smaller for vertically integrated distributors(CJ E&M and Lotte Entertainment) and Hollywood distributors than the local distributors(Showbox and NEW) that do not own integrated cinemas. This means that exhibitors allocate a larger number of screens to vertically integrated distributors and Hollywood distributors. As the two distributor groups had higher market share during the period, the results imply that the screen elasticity is related to the market performance of distributors. Smaller screen elasticity of the vertically integrated distributors might be related not to the ownership to theaters but to higher market share of the distributors.
Compared with other Altaic languages, Japanese and Korean languages are much closer to each other in grammar, and also to Ryukyuan language. According to the literature, Korean people are the first foreigners to record Ryukyuan language in a written form. In the passage "pronunciation interpreting the Ryukyuan Kingdom" from A Journey to the Eastern Countries (1512), Korean people perfectly preserved the pronunciation and meanings of words and sentences in Ryukyuan language in both Korean and Chinese languages, which is an extremely valuable material. Unfortunately, the later time period witnessed stagnation after a prominent beginning. In order to clarify the language family to which Korean belongs to, it is necessary to thoroughly compare Korean language with Japanese and Ryukyuan languages. Different from lexis, grammar underwent a slow and gradual process of variation. A comparative study of the three languages can provide strong evidence for defining the language family of Korean. Based on this rationale, this paper starts from the comparison of grammar elements of these three languages, aiming at case markers including the nominative case markers and the accusative case markers, and observes the procedures and functions diachronically. Based on the examples from the medieval data, it is found that the nominative case markers and the accusative case markers of these three languages vary from each other in forms and origins. Although they show some similarities in functions, it can be conjectured that there is no cognate for the three languages in the history.

In this thesis, it seeks to understand the diverse views of the traditional elites of the journal and the newspaper, which are published in the traditional education of the journal, and are looking at a variety of views. Moreover, we should seek to explore the traditional elements of the new tradition by discussing the aspects of the educational problems caused by the cause of the accidental break and the educational problems caused by its results.
This article is to search the aspects of realization and the characteristics of Gasa, Sijo, Japga among the Korean poetry genre based on Chohan-gosa. Chohan-gosa is a basic literary and historic discourse for the medieval intellectuals. The story had been realized its own literary value at almost every genres such as Chinese literature, novels, Gasa, Japga and Sijo etc. I focused on Gasa, Sijo and Japga among the genres in this article. First of all, I subjected to Wumiin-ga enjoyed in a area of boudoir culture from Gasa based on Chohan-gosa. I catch the meaning that the text has a characteristic that popularized history and normative ideology are mingled in through it. In the case of Sijo, I focused on the Sijo which Xiang Yu is appeared in because Xiang Yu has been most quoted person from people of Chohan-gosa. Xiang Yu was described as a strong man[hero] or a man who part with the beauty Wu. I understand that this point is caused by the theatricalized characteristic of the place where Sijo have been played. For the last time, Japga is played with the characteristic of stimulative reediting of the familiar normative ideology. Chohan-ga is based on contexts of former discourse eohan-yeonui but it was not plagiarized. Chohan-ga was organized for the way which attracted the interest of the public and stimulated the emotion of the public through using popular imagery or intensifying the sorrow.
This paper examines the aspect of the novel which appeared in the union of the male and female relationship of "OkSuki", one of the novels of the 19th century. "Oksuki" is a work focusing on the relationship between men and women. It takes a narrative structure based on the relationship. It shows various aspects of the relationship through the structure in which the pluralities of plural persons are repeated. Other events and illustrations, except for the talk, are both an occasion of the alliance and an auxiliary role. At the beginning of the work, the main character's parents are described in detail.By arranging the prophecies related to the relationship between the protagonist and the brothers, it suggests that subsequent narratives will flow into the center of the relationship. The male characters that make up the alliance are characteristically trained and have a good taste, and the Caines are colorfully colored. It is believed that the marriage pattern faithfully follows the medieval status order. This study aims to consider the effects that the type of Chinese characters of "Kangxizidian(康熙字典)" manufactured under order of Emperor Kangxi(康熙) had on the type of Chinese characters on Korea from the latter part of Joseon(朝鮮) Dynasty to the present time, and to look for the meanings it has in the studies on history of Chinese characters science and character type science in Korea. "Kangxizidian" was introduced to Joseon on the 5th year of King Yeongjo(英祖)' reign(1729), the type of Chinese characters of had great influence on that of Chinese characters in Korea at that time. This can be seen from the fact that the types of Chinese characters written in "Hongmoojeongwoon(洪武正韻)", "Yeboowoonlaek(禮部韻略)", "Saengsaengjabo(生生字譜)", "Kyujangjeonwoon(奎章全韻)", "Jeonwoonokpien(全韻玉篇)", etc. which were published after King Yeongjo mostly included the character types of "Kangxizidian". Also, as seen from the fact that Ministry of Education specified that the character types of "Kangxizidian" shall be based for the standard of writing for 'basic Chinese characters for Chinese writing education' which were revised and proposed in 2000, the influence are said to be great until now. However, the concrete consideration of the effects that "Kangxizidian" has had on the type of Chinese characters in Korea and studies on its significance has been partially made, and it can be said that the studies thereof has not been made in earnest. This study was intended to make concrete studies on the effects of "Kangxizidian" on the types of Chinese characters in Korea and the insignificance, supplementing materials not dealt with in existing studies. The subjects of study by period which were dealt with in this study are as follows. In this paper, we reinforce data not covered in previous studies. And studies of "Kangxizidian" and the relationship between the type of Chinese characters in Korea characters and the influences of the past. Lastly, I showed the significance of the shape of the "Kangxizidian" to the modern Korean character shape of Korea.
This study aimed to make clear the education process, from antenatal training to early childhood education, of Joseon Royal Family. Centered on the successors to the throne and reviewed also the education of other Royal Family members, this study carried out comparative analysis on them. Antenatal training is pregnant woman's essential physical and mental attitude. It is indispensable to the health and good nature of unborn baby. Antenatal training had been based on the theory of Oriental medical science that fetus can sympathize what mother see and feel. Such theory, combined with Confucian self-culture theory, had taken very important position in Confucianism. Not to speak of Royal Family, noble family regarded antenatal training very essential as beginning of education and root of nature formation. For firstborn son and firstborn grandson, Boyangcheong (輔養廳, special nursery agency) was set up before their age became three, but not for other sons and grandsons of Royal Family. When firstborn son or firstborn grandson grew up to read letters, Ganghakcheong (講學廳) was set up for their early education. Other sons of king also learned in their early ages at Ganghakcheong while other grandsons of king learned at Gyohakcheong (敎學廳). Education courses were almost same between successors and non-successors but there were wide difference in the ranks of their tutors; firstborn son's tutor marked 2nd Jeong(正) class, firstborn grandson's tutor marked 2nd Jong(從) class and other royal sons' tutors were just 9th Jong(從) class.
This study examines a study of communication factor in the Chinese augury bone, as a communication text, a communication history text and a communication thought text, in terms of sender message channel audience effects, interdisciplinary research. In many respects, it is generally accepted that the Chinese augury bone have been the generic references of the Oriental culture. Based on various research results about The Chinese augury boney as a communication text, this paper explores factors of communication text related with meta-communication as the definition of communication and a structure of communication, a method of communication. The Chinese augury bone consider graphic element as communication tool, its manager as sender or communicator, the record as message, the bone as channel, its reader as audience, text understanding and behavior as effects, the augury bone producer as journalist, the tying bone in a bundle as old style book. In the Chinese augury bone, one property of communication thought is that the political ideology, which is related to the strong and weak of the graphic style and determines the naming method of kings.
This paper is an essay on Chaekmun(Answer papers of official examination in Pre-modern period). Especially I tried to point out the possibility of practical use in the field of politics. For this purpose, I analyzed an examination paper written by Lee Ga-hwan, and the title is "a debate about construction of the Miang palace". Exquisite writing skill is also important in Chaekmun, but it is not everything. The subject of Chaekmun concerns various fields such like politics, economy, society, culture, and history. So that writers should have sufficient knowledge and opinion. The King, as an examiner, wants to test retainers' ability both in writing and politics. In this paper, I focused on using in field of politics between the King and the retainers. And as an good example, I analyzed a paper which dealt the event of building huge palace named Miang palace. That is because the King reflects his concerns by setting exam questions. And his concerns also could not be free of contemporary political conditions. Therefore we should be careful of reading those articles. Regarding this, Lee Ga-hwan's article had a distinctive characteristic. Unlike any other articles dealing with same event, he tried to access through creative point of view. And his thought were much close to the King's heart.
Yeoheon is a representative recluse and philosopher in the 17th Joseon dynasty. His contemporary intellectuals considered him as a sincere nobleman, Confucius in the Joseon, and moreover a saint, a cornerstone of culture, and a model for Confucianists. As a politician, he was regarded as practicing the stabilization of the people's livelihood and education, which are the key ideas of Confucian politics, when he serviced as a local governmental office twice. In addition, his ruler thought that he was right, wise, and modest, and therefore had the dignity of the old sage. His subordinates considered that he possessed the way of the old great ministers and the eye to see the current state of affairs. His theory of the Yijing is based on Cheng-Zhou learning, but developed their interpretation of the text. In addition, he discussed that Confucianism is a practical learning. His theory of the ritual was considered to follow Zhu Xi's works, but refer the old rituals and overcome the aspect of minor customs. His contemporary scholars thought that his theory of Neo-Confucianism revealed the essence of Li-Four and Qi-Seven theory regardless of scholarly parties, which were formed after Toegye and Yulgok. However, he proposed the Li-longitude and Qi-latitude theory in order to restore the real values, but it is similar to Yulgok's theory, which was criticized by the schools of Toegye and South Faction near Seoul. However, his theories revealed the fact that Joseon Confucianism cannot be simply differentiated as two major theories of "Centering on Li" and "Centering on Qi. In addition, his ideas of the universe and concern for the old showed that Joseon Confucianism is not just a theory, but is related to our lives and therefore practical in its nature.
