In the current paper, the effects of initial slug design on the earring of an Al rectangular battery case manufactured by impact extrusion were studied. During impact extrusion, non-uniform metal flow between the long and the short sides of the battery case leads to earring, which is subsequently trimmed. Process parameters such as friction, aspect ratio of the battery case, the die shape and the forming temperature tend to induce earring because they cause greater non-uniform metal flow. Large aspect ratio of the battery case and high friction between slug and die can greatly affect the earring of a rectangular battery case. To make a rectangular battery case without earring, it is necessary to control metal flow uniformly during impact extrusion. One of the ways to reduce the earring is to control the metal flow of slug at the initial upsetting stage. To analyze the effects of the initial slug design on earring, FE analysis was conducted using DEFORM 3D. Two types of initial slug designs were evaluated where volume was removed along either the width or thickness directions. The results show that the initial slug design can be effective in adjusting the uniformity of metal flow.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of earring(nothing, small, medium, large), neckline(round, low), and hairstyle(bound, unbound) on image formation. Sets of stimulus and response scales(7 point semantic) were used as experimental materials. The stimuli were 16 pictures manipulated with the combination of earring, neckline, and hairstyle. The objects of the study were 192 female undergraduates living in Gyeongsangnam-do. The results of this study were as follows. Image factor of the stimulus was composed of 4 different components, concentration of attention, attractiveness, gracefulness, and cuteness. In the concentration of attention, earring and neckline showed independent effect. In the attractiveness, neckline showed independent effect. In the gracefulness, earring and hairstyle showed independent effect. Significant interaction effects of earring and neckline on concentration of attention, attractiveness and gracefulness were found. Interaction effects of neckline and hairstyle on cuteness were found. The study results are highly expected to be used as useful sources in developing total coordination.

The purpose of this study is to classify of the Heart shaped Earring in old tombs of Three Kingdom States. First Heart shaped Earring is 7 part in according to heart styles. I-A type was original style and that was influenced by scythe style. I-A II-A type was general style that was found in most of the old tombs in Kokuryo Pacijae ancient Silla Gaya. I-B II-2-A type was also found in most of the old tombs except Kokuryo. Then II-2-A type was transmitted to Japanese Heart shaped Earring. I-A, I-B, II-1, II-2-A type was general style in ancient Silla gaya. Ii-1-B, II-2-B. II-3-A type was excavated from the only Pacjae tombs and II-3-B type was excavated from Kokuryo tombs. II-3-A, II-3-B type was unique style that was found in old tombs in Kokuryo, Pacjae.

In this study, relevant to impact extrusion process of the rectangular batter case for electric vehicles, numerical and experimental analyses were conducted to reduce the earring defects induced in the unevenness of metal flow. Since the earring is caused by the non-uniform metal flow induced in the friction and aspect ratio in the bottom section. As a way to reduce the earring, variable land die concept was applied. In order to analyze numerically the complex metal flow by using commercial finite element package, DEFORM 3D, impact extrusion process was simplified in upsetting mode at bottom section and extrusion mode at land section. The impact extrusion experiments were conducted to verify the assessment of process parameter for impact extrusion. As results, variable land die which has longer longitudinal section makes reduce earring defects. In addition, it was confirmed that the effect that slug shape like dog-bone also can reduce the earring. This study is expected to be able to present the useful design guidelines for manufacturing the battery case.

소환이식은 주환(主環)만 있는 둥근 고리형의 이식이다. 본고에서는 백제 분묘에서 출토된 소환이식을 대상으로 과학적 분석을 통해 역사적 요소와의 연관성을 알아보고자 하였다. 부여 합정리 유적에서 출토된 백제이식 6점의 조형적인 특징과 재료학적 특성을 현미경과 X선형광분석기를 이용하여 분석하였으며 분석결과를 토대로 이식의 성분조성비와 제작기법을 유추하였다. 분석결과 백제 웅진기에서 사비기에 이르는 시기에는 금과 은의 합금재료를 생산하는 기술, 가열 압접 기술, 아말감도금 기술 등 다양한 기술이 금공품에 널리 적용되고 있었다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 분석 연구는 차후 백제 이식의 시대별·지역별 상관관계를 알아보는데 비교자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 본다.

The objectives of this research were to find out factor of image perception about women's accessories, to test differences in image evaluation according to materials and forms, and to investigate differences in image evaluation according to total stimuli. The results of this study were as follows. First, the accessory image factor derived four categories: attractiveness, prettiness, gorgeousness, and soft. Second, in two dependent variables, material and form had no significant interaction effects on attractiveness, prettiness, gorgeousness, and soft. In main effect, there was a significant difference of attractiveness, prettiness, and gorgeousness according to form. That is, the lined types had better prettiness and gorgeousness than the attachable ones. There was a significant difference of attractiveness, prettiness, gorgeousness, and soft according to materials. That is, pearl was considered to be the most attractive and soft. Plastic was evaluated image of least fashionable and soft, gold did image of the least gorgeous. Third, the attractiveness of attachable diamond earring was evaluated the highest, and the lined plastic ones did the lowest. It was evaluated and concluded that the lined plastic ones is considered the prettiness and most gorgeous where as any earring with attachable gold earring were considered the least prettiness and gorgeous. The attachable silver or pearl earrings were considered to be projecting the softest image whereas the lined gold and attachable plastic ones the opposite.

Rectangular deep drawing process is widely used in sheet metal forming. But there are various defects such as earring, wrinkling, tearing, etc. In order to avoid the defects, an optimum blank shape is required. But it has not been generalized to determine the optimum blank shape because deep drawing processes are involved in complex process parameters. So, it is very necessary to do research systematically about determining the optimum blank shape of deep drawing process. In this study a rectangular cup drawing test has been carried out to determine the optimum blank shape for various stainless steel sheets. From the test, a new blank model, which has no earring, is proposed.

To determine whether hormone analysis of amniotic fluid could be used for accurate determination of fetal sex, we measured testosterone(T) and follicle-stimulating hormone in 19 amniotic fluid samples. The mean T in amniotic fluid of 8 women earring male fetuses was 310 pg. per milliliter and of 11 women earring female fetuses was 150 pg. per milliliter (P<0.05${\ast}$). The mean amniotic fluid FSH of 1.16 mI.U. per milliliter for 7 women with male fetuses was over trifold lower than that for subjects with female fetuses. The mean amniotic fluid FSH of female fetuses was 3.85 mI.U. per milliliter (P<0.01${\ast}$) Measurement of T & FSH in amniotic fluid may be an adjunct method for fetal sex determination.

Scythian Earrings in the Black Sea region had completely degenerated, stifled by motifs and shapes of Greek origin, retaining its representational realism and its full emotional vitality. The purpose of this study is to review and research the symbolic meaning and classifying the types of the Scythian Earrings style through the tombs bequests. The Scythian Earrings were divided into the styles according to the shape, Earring with Ends Shaped like animal's Heads, Boat-Shaped Earrings, Bird-Shaped Pendants earrings, Earrings with a Disc and a Pendant, Earrings Shaped like the Figures, Earring with the drop Pendant, Spiral Earrings. Earrings based on the boat shape enjoyed a long popularity among the Scythians. As that form became elaborated and combined with the disk-pendent, it reflected native rather than Asian or Hellenic tastes. Although Scythian earrings were produced based on the shapes of Greece earrings, they recreated these as Scythian unique style. In particular, the animal motive and the decoration have various changes. The exquisite earrings attest to the elegant taste and splendid wealth of the upper classes.
