  • This study is to consider varying factors of internal/external informational and operational environments in libraries, and develop a new evaluation indicators for university libraries in digital environments. In order to do this research, the previous works have been investigated, and the Delphi study and our own analysis have been performed. The main research results are as follows. First, the results through the Delphi method that was to adopted to verify evaluation items and indicators determined by the literature review show that the repressed values for each evaluation category is greater than 3.00. overall average is 4.02. and standard deviation is ranged from 0.40 to 0.62 for each category. This means that the evaluation indicators are valid. Second, the factor analysis was performed to verify the construct validity of evaluation indicators. As a result. the cumulative variance of evaluation indicators consisting of 11 dimensions per factor is 72.733%. In turn, this result shows that the validity of these indicators is very reliable. Third, t-test and one way ANOVA are performed within significance probability 0.05 in order to verify differences in each librarians point of views for the degree of importance in evaluation indicators. The results show that these evaluation indicators are verified to be appropriate since there is no significant difference. Based on the Delphi study and our own analysis. we developed a new evaluation indicators that consists of 7 evaluation categories, 35 evaluation items, and 92 evaluation indicators.

  • In this study, we have developed the performance evaluation model for the optimal soil remediation technology selection. Performance evaluation model is composed in the evaluation of two steps. In the first stage, the candidate technologies are derived according to the conditions of drilling, type and concentration of pollutants, and the saturated/unsaturated of target site. In the second stage, each individual candidate technology is evaluated by performance evaluation model. The performance evaluation model has 5 groups of evaluation items and 12 evaluation items which have their own evaluation index and their own weights through the AHP approach surveying 40 experts. From the case study of actual design cases, the applicability of the performance evaluation model was confirmed.

  • This paper mainly focused on research developing online game characteristic evaluation system based on game characteristic evaluation model design. Online game characteristic evaluation system is a system that evaluates game online in real-time using evaluation elements defined by model design. Game characteristic evaluation system uses heuristic evaluation method, which is used to execute evaluation in four parts, technical element, manage element, social element, and competitive element. To verify objectivity and validity of game characteristic evaluation, assessment was performed by three groups of beginners, intermediates, and professionals to increase the trust. And game characteristic evaluation forum was hosted to collect opinion from diverse classes.

  • The purpose of this research was to develop evaluation conformity to operate courses based on CIPP evaluation model dedicated to approval of training organizations. In order to achieve the goal, the researchers scrutinized related documents and precedent studies, initiated the draft for evaluation conformity to operate courses and secured validity for evaluation conformity initiated through Delphi Method survey. To secure validity for evaluation conformity, the researchers conducted two Delphi Method surveys of an expert panel of 22 professionals from relevant fields including officials from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, researchers from Korea Transportation Safety Authority, instructors from approved training organizations and officials from industries. Through the surveys, the researchers determined 4 evaluation areas, 13 evaluation items and 52 evaluation indexes as the evaluation conformity to operate courses for aircraft maintenance mechanics. On top of that, the researchers established evaluation system in the courses for aviation professionals (aircraft maintenance mechanics), and suggested a follow-up studies regarding managing the quality of education.

  • Emerging medical technologies for effective and lasting repair of articular cartilage include delivery of cells or cell-seeded scaffolds to a defective site to initiate de novo tissue regeneration. In this respect. the availability of an appropriate biomaterial scaffold is crucial to allow chondrocyte growth and cartilaginous matrix deposition in a three-dimensional geometry. Hyaluronic acid (HA) molecules are anchored to the chondrocyte membrane via receptors, such as CD44. (omitted)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the current status and investigate relevant indicators so that R&D performance evaluation suitable for government-funded research institutes can proceed. A suitable performance evaluation model was presented based on the surveyed indicators. Based on the presented performance evaluation model, the importance was analyzed to calculate the weight for each indicator of the performance evaluation model. Methods: The method applied in this study presented a performance evaluation model based on the organizational performance evaluation cases of advanced overseas countries. By using the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) technique, the weight of each indicator of the performance evaluation model was studied. Results: As a result of examining the indicators necessary for the evaluation model, focusing on overseas cases, 13 evaluation items were derived. A weight was calculated for the importance of the study results. And the scientific/technical research results showed the highest excellence. Conclusion: Key indicators of performance evaluation suitable for government-funded research institutes were derived and presented through detailed modeling in three stages. A realistic model that can objectively evaluate the performance of government-funded research institutes was proposed using the AHP technique.

  • Nitrate is a naturally occurring compound in plant and can be converted to nitrite in the nitrogen cycle and vice versa. Therefore, it is easy to find nitrate in plants including vegetables. Especially, it is known that high levels of nitrate found in leafy vegetables. Nitrate itself is relatively non-toxic but its metabolites and reaction products such as nitrite, nitric oxide and N-nitroso compounds, may produce adverse health effects such as methaemoglobinaemia and carcinogenesis. To execute the risk assessment of dietary nitrate and nitrite for the intake of vegetables, it is investigated that the levels of nitrate and nitrite in 23 vegetables (798 samples). The range of concentration were 0-6,719mg/kg for nitrate and 0-1,635mg/kg for nitrite, respectively. The Estimated daily intakes (EDI) were 0.85-1.38 mg/kg body weight/day for nitrate and 0.02-0.03 mg/kg body weight/day for nitrite by ages. We conclude that there are no health concerns for eating various vegetables since the EDI were below the Tolerable Daily Intake (3.7 mg/kg body weight/day for nitrate, 0.06 mg/kg body weight/day for nitrite) level established by WHO.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to survey the opinion and attitude of hospital managers toward the hospital evaluation program. Method : Managers of 157 hospitals which had participated in the hospital evaluation program were requested to respond to structured self-administered questionnaire. The questionnaire was composed with five categories: the preparation for the hospital evaluation program, the expertise levels of surveyors, the process and contents of the hospital evaluation program, the applying strategies for the result of the hospital evaluation to manager's work at their hospitals, and the main points to improve the hospital evaluation program. Result : 135 out of the 157 subjects completed the questionnaire, and the overall response rate was 86%. The hospital managers answered that they didn't have enough information such as the scoring rule of the standards, the process of the evaluation, and how to ask and get an answer to prepare the hospital evaluation. Furthermore, they estimated that the surveyors weren't specialized enough and didn't give a chance of checking over the result of the evaluation. In addition, they experienced that the result and feedback of the evaluation weren't enough information to be used as a guideline to improve in hospital management. Managers of the hospitals responded that the standards and method of survey in the hospital evaluation system should be reformed. Conclusion : Most of the responded managers seemed to have negative opinion on the hospital evaluation system, even though they were pushed up for interest in quality. Further studies and extensive evaluation of the hospital evaluation program are needed to bring up various information such as receptiveness and effectiveness.
