A Study on the Case of Inter-cultural Education in Germany: Focus on the Curriculum of SESB (독일의 상호문화교육 사례에 대한 연구 : 베를린 EU학교의 교육과정을 중심으로)

  • This research examines mutual culture education in accordance with Germany's immigrant social integration policy by analyzing the National European School in Berlin. In this regard, the curricula of Joan-Miró elementary school and Finow elementary school are analyzed. Germany maintains a multicultural policy which enables immigrants to maintain their native language and identity and simultaneously integrate them into the German society. In short, maintenance of immigrants' mother tongue and immigrant students' acquisition of the German language is the core of Germany's social integration policy. The National European School in Berlin is a public school established for the sake of an educational environment in which students can not only build up language capacity, but also create a culturally mutual environment for multicultural students. The school's educational objective is mutual culture education which can integrate and maintain the cultural identity and language of multicultural students. Joan-Miró elementary school encourages mutual cultural ability and bilingual ability while preparing students for the future intelligent society, leading their independent life and self-initiated learning. Finow elementary school encourages mutual culture ability, language capacity and directional capability apart from the basic capacities that can reinforce students to become citizens in demand of the future intellectual society. Korean foreign language education needs to be practically diversified as in the case of the Germany's National European school. Also, improvement of educational environment such as students' bilingual ability, students' ability development regarding their individual characteristics, and the capability of mutual culture understanding are issues that should be urgently treated.

A Comparative Analysis of Contents Related to Artificial Intelligence in National and International K-12 Curriculum (국내외 초·중등학교 인공지능 교육과정 분석)

  • As the importance of artificial intelligence(AI) education is emphasized recently, policies and researches are being promoted to develop the AI curriculum or courses for K-12 students in worldwide. In this study, researcher analysed a synthesis of contents and standards on AI education curriculum to present implications for AI education in the elementary and secondary schools. As a result, Korea and the United States are proposing national curriculum standards to provide the basis for AI curriculum establishment in school sites and to provide guidelines for various related policies such as teacher training programs. The EU's AI education is characterized by its curriculum and online courses to ensure that all citizens of the EU have AI literacy, rather than designating students or subjects at specific school levels. In terms of educational contents and levels, Korea, United States, and EU's curriculum or standards includes basics and applications related to machine learning and neural network based on the fundamental concepts and principles of artificial intelligence.

A Study on the ODR Dispute Settlement System of Consumer Protection in EU (EU의 소비자보호 ODR 분쟁해결제도에 관한 연구)

  • The purposes of this study are as follows: First, this study reviews the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) regulations of the EU to resolve disputes which can arise in international e-commerce in the future. Second, this study tries to seek out alternative solutions to dispute resolutions based on these regulations. Third, this study increases the efficiency of the transactions by proposing effective and satisfactory dispute resolution methods for international e-commerce. First, this study reviews the concept of cross-border e-commerce, generally explores ODR, and creates comparisons with Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Subsequently, this study looks into domestic ODR system and analyzes the regulations of EU ODR. This study suggests the implications of the European ODR regulations in the conclusion. The EU ODR platform is considered greatly significant in that it has increased the possibility of settlements in small disputes by enhancing consumers' accessibility to ADR procedures. Therefore, this thesis proposes a method for Korean companies to resolve disputes that may arise in e-commerce with EU by using the ODR platform. As a result, it is expected to increase the competitiveness of Korean companies in the EU market. Both legislative trends related to the ODR of the EU and establishment of the EU ODR platform have significant implications for Korean businesses in Europe. This study is expected to be useful for our businesses in the EU in reviewing the applicability of the EU ODR regulations and the dispute settlement procedures through the EU ODR platform. In addition, this study is expected to prove useful in relation to consumer protection by enhancing consumers' accessibility to dispute settlement institutions in domestic electronic commerce.

Rare-Earth Metal Complex-Functionalized Mesoporous Silica for a Potential UV Sensor (잠재적인 UV 센서를 위한 희토류 금속착물이 기능화된 메조다공성 실리카)

  • In this study, TEOS was used as a silica source, and a triblock copolymer (P123) was used as a template to produce mesoporous silica with a well-ordered hexagonal mesopore array through a self-assembly method and hydrothermal process under acidic condition. (Surfactant-extracted SBA-15). Surfactant-extracted SBA-15 showed the particle shape of a short rod with a size of approximately 980 nm. The surface area and pore diameter were 730 m2g-1 and 70.8 Å, respectively. Meanwhile, aminosilane (3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, APTES) was grafted into the mesopores using a post-synthesis method. Mesoporous silica (APTES-SBA-15) modified with aminosilane had a well-ordered pore structure (p6mm) and well-maintained the particle shape of short rods. The surface area and pore diameter of APTES-SBA-15 decreased to 350 m2g-1 and 60.7 Å, respectively. APTES-modified mesoporous silica was treated with a solution of rare earth metal ions (Eu3+, Tb3+) to synthesize a mesoporous silica material in which rare earth metal complexes were introduced into the mesopores. (Eu/APTES-SBA-15, Tb/APTES-SBA-15) These materials exhibited characteristic photoluminescence spectra by λex=250 nm. (5D47F5 (543.5 nm), 5D47F4 (583.5 nm), 5D47F3 (620.2 nm) transitions for Tb/APTES-SBA-15; 5D07F0 (577.7 nm), 5D07F1 (592.0 nm), 5D07F2 (614.9 nm), 5D07F3 (650.3 nm) and 5D07F4 (698.5 nm) transitions for Eu/APTES-SBA-15)

  • 국제적으로 관심이 증가되고 있는 지구 온난화와 환경문제는 제조업체, 유통업체, 서비스업체 뿐만 아니라 교육현장에 있어서도 매우 중요한 이슈이다. 창의성 증진에 대한 기대로 성장하고 있는 로봇교육은 OECD 및 EU 국가정부의 환경영향 카테고리인 유독성, 비에너지 자원고갈의 문제와 연결된다. 본 논문에서는 r-Learning을 위한 교구로봇교육에서 환경이슈를 고려하는 미래지향적 Green UCR(User Created Robots)에 대한 이론적 개념을 정립하고자 한다. 그리고 교과부에서는 '친환경 그린스쿨 조성사업'을 추진하고 있는데, 창의성 증진뿐만 아니라 환경보호에 대한 인지적 교육 효과가 매우 큰 초등학교의 Green 로봇교육은 제대로 조명받고 있지 못하는 실정이다. 이에 국내외 Green 로봇 제품 및 교육 현황을 살펴보고, 국내의 초등 방과후학교 로봇교실에서의 연간 전국 건전지 사용실태 추정수치와 교사의 Green UCR에 대한 이슈를 조사하여 제시하고자 한다. 마지막으로 이를 토대로 업체, 교육기관, 정부를 위한 그린 UCR 교육 서비스를 위한 가이드라인을 제시한다.

Analysis and Proposal for Mechatronics Education in South Korea (메카트로닉스 교육의 분석과 개선방향)

  • In this paper, mechatronics education in South Korea is analyzed and its improvement is proposed. For this purpose, discussion on the definition and evolution of mechatronics in South Korea, USA and EU is deployed first. It is revealed that most of the mechatronics education in USA and EU is remained in cross-disciplinary stage or curriculum stage, whereas that in South Korea is evolved to curriculum stage or organizational stage. The comparison of mechatronics curriculum between Korea and other countries and the problems of mechatronics education are included. The automation of machinery and factory plays one of major roles in mechatronics education in Korea, while mechatronics curriculum in USA and EU does not emphasize the automation. Mechatronics experiment in South Korea is organized to meet the National Qualification Test on mechatronics, and it is recommended to be more inventive. The way of improving the National Qualification Test of South Korea on mechatronics field is proposed. And, finally, efficient way of linking technical high school and university in mechatronics education is also proposed.

  • The current 2007 Mathematics Curriculum in Korea emphasizes mathematical problem solving, advanced mathematical thinking and effective mathematical communicating. Therefore, in order to assess and evaluate these important thinking attributes, performance evaluation using descriptive and essay type of assessments are emphasized. In this paper, analysis of the elementary mathematics curriculum is used to develop descriptive assessment problems and grading rubrics that could be used objectively and consistently by teachers of the grade 6 school mathematics. The assessment problems were developed, pilot tested, revised, implemented and analyzed in detail to understand the overall effectiveness of the descriptive evaluation method in school mathematics.

An Analysis on the Relationship of Computer Curriculums Between Dept. of Computer Education in Universities and IT-Related High Schools (컴퓨터교육과와 IT 관련 고등학교간 교과과정의 연관성 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore relationship of computer curriculums between department of computer education in universities and specialized vocational high schools. We sampled 15 computer curriculums from department of computer education, 17 computer curriculums from specialized high schools and 41 curriculums from vocational high schools. And we compare and analyze the number of subjects and times on all of curriculums. As a result, curriculums in department of computer education is lacking in subjects for domains of multimedia, computer graphics and practical computer graphics. It is low on the relationship of computer curriculums between department of computer educations and IT-related high schools. Therefore, this study concludes by proposing computer curriculums of department of computer education which should reflect the subjects.

Research of Recognition on the Horticultural Activities of Middle School Students in Ansan, Korea. (안산지역 중학생들의 원예활동 조사)

  • The current study was based on a survey of 429 middle school students (202 male and 227 female students) who lived in Ansan City. Most students (74%) had an experience in horticultural activities during or after elementary school years (male 43%, female 41%). Middle school students answered that they most frequently learned about growing up vegetables and plants among horticultural activities (male 73%, female 79%) and they thought horticultural activities are very important for education purpose such as environmental education. The most preferred horticultural activities program was utilizing vegetables and plants of which students generally had no experiences. That male students (46%) answered that the most interested aspect of horticultural activities in growth process of vegetables and plants while female answered (36%) the importance of plant life. However the most unfavorite aspect of horticultural activities was the time-consuming as a 58%, and then boring (33%).

  • 우리 농산업에게 2012년은 그간 예견되었던 위기가 표면화되고, 그에 대한 도전이 구체화 되는 시기가 될 것이다. 우리 농산업의 변화에 있어서 주목해야 할 키워드는 (1) FTA, (2) 건강, (3) 치유농업, (4) 농촌에 대한 재인식, (5) 애그리비즈니스, (6) 다문화, (7)신 소비문화의 등장, (8) 기후변화로 총 8가지가 대표된다.
