  • This study proposes a practical adjustment equation for the Embrittlement Trend Curve (ETC) to effectively apply it to reactor pressure vessel (RPV) materials in individual nuclear power plants. Traditional ETC adjustment methods have limitations due to constraints in number of group-specific measurements and a lack of statistical foundations. To address these issues, KAERI applied a Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC)-based mixed-effect model to the latest ETC model, ASTM E900-15. This approach quantitatively calculates the mean, standard deviation, and prediction intervals of the adjustment intercept by considering the grouping characteristics of surveillance data and uncertainties in unirradiated specimens. Although the KAERI model provides quantitative distributions of parameters and intercepts, it has challenges in practical applications due to computational complexity and low portability. In this study, a simplified equation was developed using the statistical calculations of the mixed-effect model, which retains the primary outcomes of the KAERI model while enhancing portability. This equation supports effective adjustments to the ASTM E900-15 ETC for nuclear power plants with diverse material properties and operational conditions. It enables reliable evaluations of RPV integrity using plant-specific surveillance data. The findings of this study are expected to improve the precision and practicality of ETCs.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the relationships among the elderly's self-esteem and life-adjustment according to decision-making power in their family. Interview survey was conducted and were selected. 296 over age 60 who lived in Jeonju. Frequencies, Percentiles, Pearson's correlation, t-test, ANOVA and Duncan's method were utilized for data analysis. The findings of this study were as follows ; 1) Decision-making power of the elderly in family had significant differences according to sex, coresiding with married children, and the sum of monthly personal expenses. 2) Elderly's self-esteem had significant differences according to sex, the present job, the situation of a spouse, and the sum of the monthly personal expenses. 3) Elderly's life-adjustment had significant difference according to residence type, the present job, the situation of a spouse, religion, education, and the sum of the monthly personal expenses. 4) Clothing and food in family had significant differences according to sex. 5) The elderly men's self-esteem had positive relationship with housing, sons and daughters guidance, grandchildren care, and family event and etc. But the elderly women's self-esteem had positive relationship with food, grandchildren care, and family event and etc. 6) The elderly men's life-adjustment had positive relationship with clothing, food, housing, family economy, sons and daughters guidance, grandchildren care, and family event and etc. But the elderly women's life-adjustment had positive relationship with food, housing, sons and daughters guidance, grandchildren care, and family event and etc.

The Influence of Role Strain on Stepfamily Adjustment

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the dynamics of stepfamilies and the adjustment difficulties such families may experience. The study describes some sociodemographic characteristics of a sample of 117 stepfamilies. The independent variables were stresses due to adjustment difficulties, which were defined as "role strains". Sociodemographic variables included gender, family income level, length of time since remarriage, type of stepfamily, and the existence of any children born to the new marriage. The dependent variable was the extent of stepfamily adjustment, expressed as a scale. The factors influencing family adjustment included stepparent gender, family income level, type of stepfamily, and various role strain variables (family boundary ambiguity, role conflict, etc.). Practical recommendations for social work are made and possibilities for future research in this area are discussed based on the results of this study.

  • Recruited from Korean-Chinese elementary schools in Shenyang and Harbin, China, 100 children living apart from their parents and experiencing non-maternal care provided information about the separation (reason and duration of parent-child separation, present location of parents, etc.), their adjustment to separation, and their perception of attachment with their caregivers. Results showed that although the separated children adjusted positively to parent-child separation in general, over 55% of them reported loneliness. Attachment with caregiver was the most significant influential variable on children's behavior problems. Duration of separation from father was related to children's hostility/aggression and hyperactivity/attention deficit problem, while duration of separation from mother influenced children's anxiety.

A Study on the Adjustment Method of Bicycle Shoe Cleat for Bicycle Fitting System

  • The nation's fraternity and elite players who have built up a global bicycle infrastructure often find it to be a problem with the bicycle's speed and speed reduction, pain in knees and hip joints, or even with the bike itself, or with the bike's own physical defects or a riding posture. However, we found that most cases of cleat adjustment errors were likely to be true. Accurate adjustment of the cleats is the most important of the entire fitting process and can be the basis for improving the ability of the bicycle rider and preventing injury. Therefore, the study was intended to give a prior study of bicycle fitting, which can improve bicycle efficiency and prevent injury when riding bicycle, and specific ways of adjusting bicycle shoe cleats, and the following results were obtained. First, the cleat characteristics of Shimano, LOOK and Speedplay, which are currently used in public, and the characteristics during the cleat adjustment process, were derived. In addition, the structure and characteristics of dedicated shoes using cleats and the method of using pedalling by the structure of shoes after adjusting the cleats were derived. Second, the position of the shoe and its relationship with torque in pedalling was discussed, and the method of adjusting front and back of cleats was derived. Third, leg length, ASIS, Q-Angle and Q-factor etc. were analyzed and the method of setting and adjusting cleat left and right values were derived. Fourth, the relationship between walking angle and cleat rotation was analyzed, the method was derived, and the torque size and angle behind the cleat adjustment were compared and analyzed using the spinner to indicate the torque and the effective mean torque angle after the cleat adjustment.

CG-5 상대중력계를 이용한 중력관측 및 중력망조정에 관한 연구 (Research for Gravity Measurements Using CG-5 Autograv System and Network Adjustment)

  • 중력측량은 지구중력장 결정, 지각의 수직운동, 지오이드면의 변화, 해수면변화, 기후변화 등 측지학적, 지구동력학적 연구의 기초이다. 국토지리정보원에서는 최근 들어 FG-5 절대중력계를 도입하여 절대중력 기준망의 구축을 위한 틀을 마련하였고 다차원 다기능 기준점인 통합기준점을 전국에 약 1,200점을 설치하여 상대중력측량을 실시함으로써 한국의 고정밀 지오이드모델의 개발에 큰 기여를 할 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구에서는 상대중력측량의 기본적인 이론 및 방법을 상세하게 설명하였고, 최신 상대중력계 Scintrex CG-5를 이용하여 총 21점에 대한 상대중력측량을 수행하였으며, 자유망조정 및 무게제한 망조정 방법을 이용하여 중력성과를 계산 및 비교 분석하였다. 결과, 두 가지 방법 모두 높은 정밀도의 중력성과 계산이 가능하지만 자유망조정이 무게제한 망조정 방법에 비해 상대적인 우위를 보여주는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 산업별 자료에 기초하여 무역거래 자유화 확대가 고용조정의 속도와 고용의 임금탄력성에 미치는 효과를 분석한 결과, 고용조정 속도는 취업자 기준보다 피고용자 기준의 경우가 좀 더 빠르게 나타나며, 수입 비율이 높은 산업들에서 수출 비율이 높은 산업들에 비해서 좀 더 빠르게 나타난다. 또한 경제개방의 확대는 피고용자 기준으로 볼 때 고용조정 속도를 조금씩 느리게 만들고 있으며 이는 주로 수출 비율 상승에 의해 주도된다. 고용의 임금탄력성은 경제개방률이나 수출 비율이 높을수록 상승하여 '고용 없는 성장(jobless growth)'의 환경이 강화되고 있다.

Factors Affecting Health Behaviors in Late School-aged Children from Multicultural Families

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate factors affecting health behaviors in late school-aged children from multicultural families. Methods: This study included 401 children (112 from multicultural families and 289 from non-multicultural backgrounds) in grades 4~6 in 11 elementary schools. Data on health behaviors and related factors (school adjustment, the mother-child relationship, self-efficacy, etc.) were collected from the children using self-reported questionnaires between May and June in 2019. The collected data were analyzed through a univariate analysis and multiple regression analysis. Results: The health behavior score of multicultural children was lower than that of non-multicultural children (t=3.32, p=.001). In multicultural children, school adjustment (β=.55, p<.001), mother-child relationship (β=.25, p=.001), and perceived health status (very healthy=1; β=.19, p=.011) were significant factors affecting their health behavior and explained 47.0% (F=30.93, p<.001) of the variance. Conclusion: Multicultural late school-aged children are at risk to engage in a lower level of health behaviors than their non-multicultural counterparts. More attention should be paid to ways of improving multicultural children's perceptions of their health status, maternal relationships, and school adjustment in order to promote health behaviors.

4세대 박형 CD 광학 픽업 개발 (Development of the 4th Generation CD Optical Pick-up with Small Thickness)

  • The 3rd generation optical pick-up used popularly in resent years is composed of many optical and electronic components such as laser diode, photo diode, beam splitter, objective lens, grating lens, concave lens, collimator lens etc. Therefore, the design of its optical system and its main base which the said optical and electronic components are set on, is complicated and needs high precision. Its assembly and adjustment in the production line is also difficult. This complication and the demand of high precision get its production cost to be high and its reliability to be low. In this paper, the 4th generation optical pick-up is designed and developed, with the hologram device which laser diode. photo diode, beam splitter. and grating lens are integrated in. This optical pick-up reduces the number of points of adjustment by 3, compared with the 3rd generation optical pick-up of which the number of points of adjustment is 6. This optical pickup also decreases by 4 the number of points of W bonding to have bad influence on environmental reliability, decreases by about 10 the number of parts, and establishes about 20% cost-down of material cost, compared with the 3rd generation optical pick-up.
