A Study on the Critical Success Factors for Each Phase of the Introduction of ERP Systems (ERP시스템 도입 단계별 핵심성공요인에 관한 연구)

  • In every sectors of industry, the Business Process Reengineering(BPR) has been applied for taking competitive advantage under rapidly changing environment. A company adopting the BPR has begun to consider the introduction of Enterprise Resource Planning ERP systems. ERP systems can integrates many core activities of business, such as manufacturing management, human resource management, financial management, supply chain management by applying the best practices to facilitate a rapid decision-making, cost reductions, and organizational control. Unfortunately, however, many tentative risk factors are existed through each phase of the introduction of ERP systems. As a result, it can bring an enormous benefits to a company or it can be a disastrous for organization. Therefore, two critical questions regarding the introduction of ERP systems should be analyzed before actual introduction has happened. They are "how can ERP systems be introduced successfully\ulcorner" and "what are the critical success factors for each phase of introduction of ERP systems\ulcorner". Through this research, We studied and analyzed the characteristics of critical success factors requiring at each phase of the introduction of ERP systems by applying the questionnaire survey method. Finally, we suggest the list of barriers and critical success factors for each phase of introduction of ERP systems.tion of ERP systems.

Factors Affecting the Usage of an ERP System in Operation : A Socio-technical View with User Orientation (운영 중인 ERP 시스템의 활용도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 : 사용자 중심의 통합된 사회-기술적 관점에서)

  • Although many organizations have implemented and used ERP systems for years, industry reports point out that the usage level does not reach their expectation. As a result, they do not enjoy the benefits from the investment into ERP systems. This study attempts to develop a research model and test the model empirically for identifying factors that affect the usage of an ERP system at a public organization. This study has classified potential factors into three groups of technical system characteristics (usability, usefulness), organizational support characteristics (operational support, education and training, evaluation and measurement), and user characteristics (organizational citizenship, self-efficacy). Then, a structural equation model has been established on the basis of previous literature and tested with empirical data. In summary, this study has found that self-efficacy, usefulness, and operational support have an effect on the ERP usage. Self-efficacy is the strongest factor; Usefulness is the second; and the third is operational support. On the contrary to the previous literature, this study has not found a significant effect of organizational citizenship on the usage. The result confirms that an organization can increase the ERP usage by improving the usefulness of an ERP system to some extent. However, to boost the usage further, the result implies that organizations need to strengthen the self-efficacy of their members by reinforcing operational support, providing education and training steadily, and establishing an evaluation mechanism in relation with the ERP usage.

  • 급변하는 환경 속에서 기업은 경영환경변화에 따라 새로운 경쟁력 강화 방법들을 모색하고 있으며 불안한 환경에서의 생존을 위하여 끊임없는 노력과 혁신을 추구하고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning : 전사적 자원관리) 시스템은 기업의 경쟁력을 재고하고 변화하는 비즈니스 환경을 예측하여 신속하고 현명하게 대처하기 위한 수단으로서의 역할을 수행하고 있다. ERP 시스템의 도입은 회사 내부의 업무 프로세스에 대해 전반적인 변화를 가져올 만한 시도이며, 도입의 실패 시 막대한 물적 피해가 야기되므로, 성공적 구축을 위한 노력이 절실히 요구된다. 특히 중소기업의 경우 ERP 시스템 도입을 위해 요구되는 인력 및 자금이 부족한 현실이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 중소기업에서의 성공적인 ERP 시스템 구축을 위한 방법론으로서 산ㆍ학 협력모델을 제안한다. ERP 시스템 구축을 위해 기업과 학교가 산ㆍ학 협력체제를 구축함으로서 기업측과 학교측 모두에게 이득이 되는 전략을 마련하고자 한다.

  • Since 1990's, many enterprises have implemented ERP System. Especially, they want to become an advanced company use ERP implementation. Already, ERP system come to high level which is stabilized and support independent business process of many industry sectors. Although most companies had previous good plans, but those are not satisfied. Because of failed to change management and had many problem about Project team operation. Therefore, important success factors for ERP project are change management and organization activation for Project team. The purpose of this study is suggest to improve method about team activation through analysis the Project team member's individual personality as a factor that makes the success of Project team. This paper studied success factors of project team and plan for organization activation. The results of this study can be used for a successful implementation of the ERP system as make of Project team consider of individual personality and administer a Project team.

  • These days the theme of " ERP" has become a topic of special interest in both public and private sectors. Based on the literature survey on M.I.S. and other IT related area, this paper reviewed the ERP Implementation success factors and found that there would be significant differences between large an small business ERP success factors. For the more practical and successful ERP Implementation, this paper proposed a new university-industry cooperation model of ERP implementation for small and medium Enterprises. Other this study related implications were discussed.

  • Currently, many companies are trying to be more competitive by implementing the most appropriate software package called ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). ERP can support the company's business process. A manufacturing execution system (MES) is an industrial software system, as well as a manufacturing management function in make-to-order and make-to-stock manufacturing environments. This paper presents an architecture of MES. This study develops MES to identify the functional requirements of loading & scheduling in the automobile industry. This study shows the effectiveness of the proposed MES, how to develop MES and interface with ERP package.

  • The purpose of this research is to develop a standardization model for available stock management process among the entire Enterprise Resource Planning System modules of Automobile Parts Manufacturing Industry. The standardization model system is constructed through the phased method based on the development methodology of information establishment suggested by the Small and Medium Business Administration and Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for Small & Medium Enterprises. The standardization model is to develop the process modules of ordering management, storing management, delivering management, and stock management for available stock management process. The study will help the manufacturing business and related IT business which want to construct available stock management process under the ERP system to establish the system more effectively by applying the standardization model and also will provide them with construction availability and reliability. By application of this study results, the businesses will not only prevent the excessive possession of raw materials and products and reserve adequate and steady stock but also will check real-time stock, observe customer due date, decrease over-production and reduce stock cost.

  • In this study, in order to promote informatization of Meat Processed Food Industry, we standardize three processes of sales management, purchaser logistics and production management, develop standard modules, and develop integrated business functional design in ERP system development. This study reduces the cost of introducing the production equipment information standardization module in the food industry and the specialized IT companies that are slow in informatization, and maximizes the effectiveness and provides reliability by being a database where research standardization can be compared and analyzed. By applying the results of this study, it is possible to establish efficient processes of sales, buyer logistics, production, improvement of quality, and reduction of production cost from the receipt of food raw materials / subsidiary materials to finished products.
