This paper mainly focuses on an empirical study for performance analysis which is caused by customizing of ERP systems. To conduct this study, four companies are selected in Korea and China, two companies for each country. This paper actually considers four factors for performance analysis of ERP adoption such as financial performance, user satisfaction, competitiveness, and ERP systems adoption, and the analysis of utilization performance is based on nine factors in terms of customizing of ERP systems. As a result of the analyzed results, we conduct comparison analysis about ERP systems customizing of the companies in Korea and China and suggest how to optimally customize for successful ERP systems adoption and application.

For the successful implementation of ERP systems, it is very important to solve the issue of "misfits", that is, the gaps between the functionality offered by the ERP package and the required by the adopting organization. To solve the "misfit" issue, adapting to the new functionality has been recommended instead of customizing the ERP package. However, these claims are mostly based on case studies and anecdotal evidence with limited empirical justification. The purpose of this study is, therefore, to study the effect of ERP customizing on user satisfaction and firm performance. In this study, we also examine the differences in the effects of ERP customizing among three customizing types: modification, add-on development (to use 'user exit'), and add-on development (not to use 'user exit'). According to the empirical field study, we find no significant differences in user satisfaction and firm performance by overall customizing (total of three customizing types) level. However, we find significant differences in user satisfaction and firm performance by add-on development level. And the influences of customizing types on user satisfaction and firm performance are significantly affected by the functionality level offered by the ERP system and BPR level. These results indicate that ERP customizing may not always be the incorrect choice for solving the "misfit" issue.

국내에 ERP패키지 시스템이 도입된지도 10여년이 지나 현재 많은 기업이 ERP를 구축 운영중이며 향후에도 많은 기업이 ERP를 구축할 것으로 예상된다. 해외에서 개발된 패키지를 국내에 도입하다 보니 국내 실정에 맞지 않는 많은 부분이 커스터마이징되고 있다. 이러한 커스터마이징은 ERP 개발 기간을 길게 하고 많은 비용을 초래하며 또한 실제 운영 시에도 과다한 유지 보수 비용을 발생시키는 등 적지 않은 부담을 안겨 주고 있다. 본 논문에서는 커스터마이징과 ERP구축의 성과 지표 즉 개발기간 및 구축비용 등에 대한 상관 관계를 실 구축 사례를 통해 조사/확인하고 LG CNS의 ERP 구축 및 운영 경험을 토대로 커스터마이징을 줄일 수 있는 방안에 대한 아이디어를 제시하고자 한다.

Our study focuses on empirical findings of the critical factors which influence the performance of ERP system in business. The study is mainly interested in examining the influence of the characteristics of late process of adopting ERP called "Go-Live" phase with the critical issues like customizing, transformational process of standardization, phased implementation, concurrent operation and use with the current systems on users' ERP satisfaction. The analyses of the data conducted thru moderated regression analysis and subgroup analysis. Using moderated regression analysis, we first examined the effect of moderator variables like customizing, process standardization, sequential use, concurrent use with the current systems. And then, using subgroup analysis is to verify directions of the moderator effects. Having knowledge on the characteristics of ERP Go-Live process can lead to success of ERP system in business. Our results can be beneficial to those organizations who want to adopt and maintain ERP system effectively.

Each company has different business processes. Since it is impossible that an ERP system contains every different business processes, the productivity of customizing and maintenance well-matched for the business process of a company is the key to successful implementation. This ERP UI development tool was developed for better connection to back-end in terms of customizing and maintenance, integration with design, providing various tools for higher productivity, reusability, and standardized user interface so that it enhances the productivity, meets the UI standard, and copes with upcoming changes of business process. In the further study, the study on the service automation and integrated development environment with front-end and back-end providing through the advanced user convenience development for front-end designer and front-end generator would be carried out.

중소기업이 업무 통합 시스템인 ERP패키지를 구입하여 이를 자사에 커스터마이징하는 비용은 과도하다. 본 논문에서는 스프레드시트 수준에서 처리하고 있는 중소기업의 업무를 통합하여 신속, 원활하게 수행할 수 있는 ERP수준의 전산시스템을 웹에 기반하여 설계하고 구현한다. 먼저, 각종 업무에서 사용되는 스프레드시트를 분석하여 통합 데이터베이스를 설계/구축하고, 구축된 데이터베이스와 연동을 갖는 업무 관리프로그램을 설계/구현한다. 개발된 시스템은 각 업무간에 완벽한 통합성을 제공하고, 인터넷상에서 사용 할 수 있는 장점을 제공한다.

The enterprise resource planning(ERP) system becomes more popular as a vehicle of realizing an integrated information system, because this system not only facilitates the reengineering of processes in a firm but also provides the function of generating consolidated financial statements. However, ERP vendors have unsuccessfully provided methodologies on the customization of ERP packages although one of the important issues during the implementation of an ERP package is how to customize it. The purpose of this paper is to build a strategy on the successful customization of ERP packages. The result from the analysis of interviews with 25 consultants and experts in the ERP field recommends 14 customization strategies of an ERP package in the four areas of a firm: management, technology, organization, and environment. The analysis of the feedback from the consultants and experts generates the ranking of the 14 customization strategies.

The risk of project failure has increased recently as ERP systems have been transformed into Web environments and task complexity has increased. Although low-code platform development tools are being used as a way to solve this problem, limitations exist as they are centered on UI. To overcome this, back-end development tools are required that can be developed quickly and easily, not only from the front development but also from a variety of development sources produced from the ERP development process, including back-end business services. In addition, the development tools included within existing ERP products require a lot of learning time from the perspective of beginner and intermediate developers due to high entry barriers. To address these shortcomings, this paper seeks to study ways to overcome the limitations of existing development tools within the ERP by providing customized development tool functions by enhancing the usability of ERP development tools suitable for each developer's skills and roles based on the requirements required by ERP development tools, such as reducing the time required for querying, automatic binding of data for testing for service-based units, and checking of source code quality.

To succeed in ERP construction, the purpose of ERP setup must be completed. To accomplish this end, it is required to analysis business process completely and make a plan in detail. For ERP providers', they must support a characterized ERP construction methodology and lower the construction cost by improving an ERP package by making it easy to customize. But, because imported EHP products that are supplied currently are designed for the standard and the rationality, they have a limit to support custom processes of domestic companies. On the contrary, ERP products by domestic companies are unable to support a consistent methodology of constructing ERP system. This is a main reason why much time and costs are consumed than that of an original plan. For solving the problems, ERP packages should provide a consistent process modeling methodology and a modeling tool which can support this methodology. Furthermore, customizing cost must be lowered by implementing reusable components from the process models. This Paper describes a component-based ERP Package system which has peculiar modeling tools and development tools. We describe the modeling methodology and the business component definition of the ERP system. Finally, we describe its customizing process based on these process designs and business components.
