In order to evaluate estrogenic compounds in natural products, an in vitro detection system was established. For this system, the human breast cancer cell line MCF7 was stably trans-fected using an estrogen responsive chloramphenicol acetyltransferase (CAT) reporter plas-mid yielding MCF7/pDsCAT-ERE119-Ad2MLP cells. To test the estrogenic responsiveness of this in vitro assay system, MCF7/pDsCAT-ERE119-Ad2MLP cells were treated with various concentrations of 17f3-estradiol. Treatments of 10$^{-8}$ to 10$^{-12}$ M 17$\beta$-estradiol revealed significant concentration dependent estrogenic activities compared with ethanol. We used in vitro assay system to detect estrogenic effects in Puerariae radix and Ginseng radix Rubra extracts. Treat-ment of 500 and 50 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml of Puerariae radix extracts increased the transcriptional activity approximately 4- and 1.5-fold, respectively, compared with the ethanol treatment. Treatment of 500, 50, and 5 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml of Ginseng radix Rubra extracts increased the transcriptional activity approximately 3.2-,2.7, and 1.4-fold, respectively, compared with the ethanol treatment. These observations suggest that Puerariae radix and Ginseng radix Rubra extracts have effective estrogenic actions and that they could be developed as estrogenic supplements.
Wettability of addition silicone impression material is very important property for making an accurate restoration. This study examined the impression quality in clinical condition and the wettability of impression and die material. Four commercially available addition silicone impression material (Express, Examix, Contrast, Perfect) and three die materials (Die-Keen, Vel-Mix, Fuji-Rock) were studied. A total of 50 putty/wash and heavy body/wash impressions of wet intact permanent molar teeth were examined for definition of the gingival sulcus reproduction and then classified in quality ranking. The percentage of the sulcus reproduction ability of each material was calculated from the sulcus depths of cross-sectioned epoxy resin casts from the impressions and clinically measured sulcus depths, The same impression materials were used to produce 3 groups of die stone casts form void entrapment die had been exposed to milk. Voids in the impression body and stone casts ere counted under a stereoscopic microscope. From the experiment, the following results were obtained : 1. Sulcus reproduction ability of additional silicone impression material were diminished in order of Express, Examix, Perfect, Contrast. The significant difference was found between Perfect and other material. Heavy body/wash combination was superior In putty/wash method n Perfect impression material. 2. In direct observation, Contrast showed least void in impression body but correlations ere not found between sulcus reproduction and void production. 3. In void entrapment laboratory test, wettability were diminished in order of Examix, Contrast, Express, Perfect. Clinical impression recording seems not to correlate with laboratory test. 4. The wettability of die material to impression material was not different in Express, Examix, Contrast. But, in Perfect, Die-Keen had superior wettability to others.

Estrogen receptor ${\alpha}$ ($ER{\alpha}$) mediates the mitogenic effects of estrogen. $ER{\alpha}$ signaling regulates the normal growth and differentiation of mammary tissue, but uncontrolled $ER{\alpha}$ activation increases the risk to breast cancer. Estrogen binding induces ligand-dependent $ER{\alpha}$ activation, thereby facilitating $ER{\alpha}$ dimerization, promoter binding and coactivator recruitment. $ER{\alpha}$ can also be activated in a ligand-independent manner by many signaling pathways, including protein kinase A (PKA) signaling. However, in several $ER{\alpha}$-positive breast cancer cells, PKA inhibits estrogen-dependent cell growth. FoxH1 represses the transcriptional activities of estrogen receptors and androgen receptors (AR). Interestingly, FoxH1 has been found to inhibit the PKA-induced and ligand-induced activation of AR. In the present study, we examined the effects of PKA activation on the ability of FoxH1 to represses $ER{\alpha}$ transcriptional activity. We found that PKA increases the protein stability of FoxH1, and that FoxH1 inhibits PKA-induced and estradiol-induced activation of an estrogen response element (ERE). Furthermore, in MCF7 cells, FoxH1 knockdown increased the PKA-induced and estradiol-induced activation of the ERE. These results suggest that PKA can negatively regulate $ER{\alpha}$, at least in part, through FoxH1.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Structure of Intellect( SOI) program for children. To achieve this purpose, 81 second grade children were sampled in a elementary school located In Seoul-city and randomly assigned to the experimental group and control group The SO1 training program were treated to the experimental group for 10 weeks, and the 'Thinking Abilities Test developed by Korea Creativity Research Institute were administered to them for pre-test and post-test. The collected data were analyzed by t-test for comparing the group means of experimental group and control group 'I'he results of this study were as follows : Firstly ere were statistically significant differences between experimental group and control group on the post-test scores of arithmetic[t(79)=2.73p,< .01] and visual memory[t(79)-3.68,p <.001]. The mean scores of experimental group(M=8.63) u ere higher than that of control group(Mz7.34) on arithmetic, and the mean scores to experimental group(M=16.68) were higher than that of control group(M=15 32) on visual memory Secondly there were no statistically significant differences between experimental group and control group on the post-test scores of logistic thinking abilities[t(79)=0.22, p>.05] and abstract thinking abilities[t(79)-0.22, p>.051. Thirdly, the post-test scores of visual memory and logical thinking abilities were more increased in the low intelligence group than the high intelligence group. The purpose of this study was to examine a path model that investigated the relations among socioeconomic variables. financial management and financial satisfaction of urban households. for this purpose conceptual framework based on the system theory of family resource management was suggested. Data were collected from questionaire with 254 financial managers who were residents of Seoul. The major findings of this study were as follows: (1) The variables that effected financial satisfaction directly ere financial knowledge monthly saving amounts the gap between the level and standard of living and financial implementing. The financial planning effected indirectly on financial satsfaction through financial implementing. (2) The findings of this study provided support for a systems approach to family financial management. There result indicated that it is the combined effect of inputs and throughputs that effects the output of financial satisfaction.
Conventional compression bone fracture plates sometimes cause osteoporosis under the plate due to their high rigidity which in turn transfer physiological load mostly through the plates and screws. In order to prevent the osteopenia we have designed a system which have a viscoelastic washer between plate and screw head. The washer is made of a biocompatible ploymer (untra high molecular weight polyethylene, UHMWPE). Three-dimensional finite element meshes of the human femur with the conventional and new concept bone plate ere generated and the comparative stress analyses are performed with static half-stance loading condition. The results of analyses showed that could reduce the stress shielding effect compared with the conventional plate.
A single particle analysis, called low-Z electron probe X-ray microanalysis was applied to characterize the atmospheric aerosols collected during Asian Dust storm events in the year of 2000 and 2001. Most frequently encountered chemical species were the soil-originated species such as aluminosilicates, silicon dioxide, and calcium carbonate. Also various species such as carbon -rich, organics, sea salts, and some reacted calcium carbonate were identified. The observation of internally mixed particles oi calcium carbonate, calcium nitrate and/or calcium sulfate shows the occurrence of the heterogeneous reaction between Asian Dust particles and NO$_{x}$ and/or SO$_{x}$ species in the atmosphere.ere.
In the modern market economy, where the consumers are increasingly seeking pleasure rather than convenience, a variety of retailers are making every effort to promote sales records. In order to achieve this goal, the division of work needs to be effectively performed and the allied enterprises need to cooperate with each other. Consequently, the Customer Relationship Management(CRM) system should be established through the research and analysis on brands and consumers. It is also necessary that the enterprises should cooperate mutually, using the PRM system which makes it possible to share the information from the CRM system. This report is going to propose a desirable cooperation which is reguaired in Retail Shop Design. And it will be done by describing the relation between CRM & PRM and the marketing based on brands and consumers.ere it examines closely the vibrating unit of the elevator and propose the countermeasure of it.
