We experienced a case of induction of general anesthesia without using neuromuscular blocking agents (NMBAs) in a 40-year-old woman with a history of anaphylaxis immediately after the administration of anesthetics lidocaine, propofol, and rocuronium to perform endoscopic sinus surgery 2 years before. The skin test showed a positive reaction to rocuronium and cis-atracurium. We induced general anesthesia without using NMBAs after inducing airway anesthesia with lidocaine (transtracheal injection and superior laryngeal nerve block). Deep general anesthesia was maintained with end-tidal 4 vol% sevoflurane. Hypotension was treated with phenylephrine infusion. The operation condition was excellent, and patient recovered without complications after surgery. Airway anesthesia with local anesthetics may be helpful when we cannot use NMBAs for any reason, including hypersensitivity to NMBA and surgery that needs neuromuscular monitoring.

The drawing information takes the most essential part of construction information. The management of construction information through drawing information facilitates input, output and search process, thus helping maximize the usage of construction information by effectively sharing construction experience and drawing information. This paper shows how construction information can effectively used to increase the productivity of the construction process as a whole. Construction information was extracted and classified by the elements of building which are the basic and very end components of building, to accumulate information of each construction phase. Based on the result, the Element Breakdown Structure(EBS) was developed for the practical usage of construction information integration.

This paper is concerned with time delay modeling of ED MOS gates which takes into account the slope of input waveform as well as the load condition. Defining the delay time as the time required to charge/discharge the load to the physical reference level, the rise/fall delay times arc derived in an explicit formula in terms of the sum of optimally weighted current unbalances at two end points of voltage transition. The proposed model is computationally effective and the error is typically within 10% of the SPICE results.

Considered is non-symmetric contact traction induced by the tilting of a contact body and/or by a far field bulk tensile load to the other body. The problem is under the regime of plane strain. General profile of the contact end is incorporated and partial slip condition is supposed. As an example contact configuration, an indentation of a punch with rounded corners onto a half plane is studied. The variation of the internal stress field due to the tilting and the bulk tension is investigated. An edge crack problem is analyzed to examine the influence of the non-symmetric traction. It is shown that the tilting of a punch does not influence the behaviour of the crack. Rather, the effect of the bulk tension on the cracking behaviour is found considerable.

The Korean National Photovoltaic Project was initiated in October 1989 to develop technologies for the generation of economically competitive electric power by photovoltaic systems. It consists of four stages through the year 2006 with technical goals and cost targets related with solar cells, balance of systems and system application. The objectives of the project are to utilize photovoltaic technology, to transfer developed technology to industries and end users by research activities and to diffuse photovoltaic systems by demonstration projects. This paper reviews long-term plan abd status of technology R&D, and markets of photovoltaics. Some activities designed to promote collaboration with foreign countries are also introduced.

With the development of national economy and increase of income, consumers' demand for quality and safe agricultural products have increased and perception on environmental-friendly Farming products has been sharply changing. In other words, consumers increasingly show the tendency to prefer environmental-friendly farming products for considering health and environment protection, despite higher price. The environmental-friendly farming products in Jeonnam Province is still at its early stage, accounting for 1% or so of the total products. Considerable part of environment-friendly farming products, nevertheless, difficult problem to End consumers, thus sold at relatively high prices. To the questionnaire asking their most severe difficulty is about 30.5% for sale. This suggests that strategies for consumption expansion of environment-friendly farming products, including of consumers, confidence, publicity of consumers, should be established to increase the income of environmental-friendly farmers in Jeonnam Province.

We present a fiber laser sensor that uses a fiber grating as a strain sensor head and an end-reflector of the laser cavity. A passive wavelength. The long-period grating band-rejection filter showed a wide usable filter wavelength range of about 25 nm, and the intensity of transmitted light increased by 16% for 1nm sensor wavelength shift in trhe measurement range.

We present a case of a colonic involvement associated with necrotizing pancreatitis, with a review of the literature. A 10 year old boy had an appendectomy at the local clinic ten days ago. On admission, he complained nausea, vomiting and severe constipation. His abdomen was distended and he had tenderness on the left abdomen. Laboratory and radiologic studies revealed findings consistent with acute pancreatitis with colonic complication. He was treated conservatively for 30 days but did not improve. On hospital 30th day, abdominal pain developed and his vital sign changed. Abdominal CT suggested ischemic change of the transverse colon. At laparotomy, the left colon showed stenosis. The greatly distended transverse colon was resected and a transverse end colostomy was done. He was discharged at postoperative 45th day with improvement and colostomy closure was performed 8 months later.

This paper is to reconsider the relation between presupposition and anaphoricity. My proposal goes as follows: First, the anaphoricity view of presupposition is problematic in that it heavily relies on accommodated antecedents, and this will end up depriving the view of much of its content. So, it is suggest that accommodation should be taken as a mechanism to add presupposed new information to the context, like an asserted proposition. Next, I show that, between two prominent theories of presupposition projection, both of which commit themselves to the anaphoricity view, van der Sandt's theory is quite compatible with the revised view of accommodation, but Heim's theory isn't, because anaphoricity is at the heart of its projection mechanism. Finally, I suggest that unaccommodatable presuppositions should be explained not by the properties of presupposition itself, but by the lexical properties of presupposition triggers.

This study is first report on dermatitis digitalis and dermatitis verrucosa, which were occurred in bovine claw, in the Republic of Korea. Pathologically, dermatitis digitalis was observed in the from of surperficial epidermitis on the skin at the caudal end of interdigital cleft with whitish epithelial bordel while dermatitis verrucosa in the form of wart-like proliferation of the skin midway between the bulbs and adjacent to the coronary band. Histological finding of dermatitis verrucosa were noticeable parakeratotic hyperkeratosis of the epidermis, acanthosis, spongiosis of prickle cell layer and intercellular bridges.
