Novel Partitioning Algorithm for a Gaussian Inverse Wishart PHD Filter for Extended Target Tracking

  • Use of the Gaussian inverse Wishart PHD (GIW-PHD) filter has demonstrated promise as an approach to track an unknown number of extended targets. However, the partitioning approaches used in the GIW-PHD filter, such as distance partition with sub-partition (DP-SP), prediction partition (PP) and expectation maximization partition (EMP), fails to provided accurate partition results when targets are spaced closely together and performing maneuvers. In order to improve the performance of a GIW-PHD filter, this paper presents a cooperation partitioning (CP) algorithm to solve the partitioning issue when targets are spaced closely together. In the GIW-PHD filter, the DP-SP is insensitive to target maneuvers but sensitive to the differences in target sizes, while EMP is the opposite. The proposed CP algorithm is a fusion approach of DP-SP and EMP, which employs EMP as a sub-partition approach after DP. Therefore, the CP algorithm will be sensitive to neither target maneuvers nor differences in target sizes. The simulation results show that the use of the proposed CP algorithm will improve the performance of the GIW-PHD filter when targets are spaced closely together.

  • The HEMP has very short rising time with several tens of kV/m, and very dangerous to almost of the electronics. And the certain level of EMP shielding effectiveness is necessary for mos t of the systems andequipment. In EMP shielding effectiveness, the peak value and the rising time in the system are the most considerable parameters. In order to find out these parameters, we need to estimate the pulse shape in time domain. In this paper, we propose the methods to estimate the penetrated pulse in time domain using measured shielding effectiveness and digital filter modeling technique. The validity of the Digital filter modeling technique is verified by the HFSS.

HEMP 보호용 전원선 필터 구현 (Implementation of Dedicated Power Line Filter for HEMP Protection)

  • 본 연구에서는 고고도 핵폭발에 기인한 HEMP의 영향으로부터 민간시설의 적합한 보호를 위한 HEMP 보호용 전원선 필터 구현 필요성을 다루기 위해, HEMP 관련 국방 규격 분석 및 바리스터, 관통형 커패시터, 가스방전관, 인덕터 등의 주요 소자들에 대한 분석을 수행하고, 이를 기반으로 단상 220VAC/16A 용량의 HEMP용 전원선 필터를 간이 제작하였다. 또한 배선용 차단기, 서지 보호기, EMI 필터 등과의 MIL-STD-188-125 PCI 규격 기반의 비교 실험을 수행하였다. 결과적으로 HEMP에 의한 전도성 노이즈로부터 시스템을 보호하기 위해서는 HEMP 보호 전용 필터의 개발이 필수조건임을 확인하였다.

  • The spurious electromagnetic radiation is generated due to the RF unbalanced current on a conductive cable connecting an electronic device to another. A metamaterial-based filtering geometry with frequency selectivity is suggested to reduce the radiation with a bandgap structure, where the right-handed inductance and capacitance stem from the transmission-like configuration between the cable and the metal protrusion, and the left-handed components come from the narrow cavities. The effect of the structure on the unbalanced current pulse and its spurious radiation is presented in the FDTD-method frame work.

  • The $TiO_2$/ZnS/Ag/ZnS/$TiO_2$ multilayered structure for the transparent electrodes in plasma display panel was designed by essential macleod program (EMP) and the multilayered film was deposited on a glass substrate by direct-current (DC)/radio-frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering system. During film deposition process, the Ag layer in $TiO_2$/Ag/$TiO_2$ structure became oxidized and the filter characteristic was degraded easily. In this study, ZnS layer was adopted as a diffusion blocking layer between $TiO_2$ and Ag to prevent the oxidation of Ag layer efficiently in $TiO_2$/ZnS/Ag/ZnS/$TiO_2$ structure. Based on the AES depth profiling analysis, the Ag layer was effectively protected by the ZnS layer as compared with the $TiO_2$/Ag/$TiO_2$ multilayered films without ZnS as an antioxidant layer. The 3 times stacked $TiO_2$/ZnS/Ag/ZnS/$TiO_2$ films have low sheet resistance of $1.22{\Omega}/{\square}$ and luminous transmittance was as high as 62% in the visible ranges.

  • The $TiO_2/Si_3N_4/Ag/Si_3N_4/TiO_2$ multi layered structure was designed for the possible application of transparent electrodes in PDP (Plasma Display Panel). Multi layered film was deposited on a glass substrate at room temperature by DC/RF magnetron sputtering system and EMP (Essential Macleod Program) was adopted to optimize the optical characteristics of film. During the deposition process, the Ag layer in $TiO_2/Ag/TiO_2$ became heavily oxidized and the filter characteristic was degraded easily. In thus study, Si3N4 layer was used as a diffusion buffer layer between $TiO_2$ and Ag. in order to prevent the oxidation of Ag layer in $TiO_2/Si_3N_4/Ag/Si_3N_4/TiO_2$ structure. It was confirmed that $Si_3N_4$ layer is one of candidate materials acting as diffusin barrier between $TiO_2/Ag/TiO_2$.

고 고도 전자기파(HEMP) 발생과 전파해석 및 방호실 최적 설계 Tool 개발 (Development of the HEMP Generation, Propagation Analysis, and Optimal Shelter Design Tool)

  • 북한의 핵폭탄과 미사일 기술개발이 진전됨에 따라 고 고도 핵전자기파(HEMP)에 대한 위협이 새롭고 절박하게 인지되고 있는데, 일례로 이미 북한이 수개의 핵폭탄을 개발 보유하고 있으며 북한이 남한에 대한 핵탄두 운반 능력을 가지고 남한을 위협하고 있다. ITU K78, K81 그리고 IEC에서는 EMP/HEMP로부터 프로세서 내장 기기의 오동작을 줄이기 위해 항해 통신장비를 포함한 산업용 설비에 대한 대책을 권장하고 있으나, 이에 대한 의사시험은 1960-1990년대 미국공군무기연구소(USA/AFWL)의 논문들을 토대로 수행할 수 밖에 없다. 이 모의 시험결과는 모든 HEMP 관련 제품이 강력하게 수출을 통제하고 있기 때문에 북한의 위협에 직면한 남한으로서는 매우 중요한 연구 활동의 결과이다. 저자 등이 새롭게 개발한 HEMP cord는 HEMP의 발생과 전파현상 분석, 방호실 설계 툴, 흙과 암반으로 구성된 다충 구조에서 전자파 에너지의 감쇠량 그리고 HEMP 필터 설계 툴을 포함하고 있다. 특히 다층구조에서 전자파 감쇠량 연산 툴은 흙과 암반이 매우 다양한 특성을 가지고 있기 때문에 많은 실측 데이터를 바탕으로 최소자승법에 의하여 해석하였다.
