Electromagnetic Interference Suppression Method of Motor Assembly for Aircraft Application (항공용 모터 조립체의 전자기 간섭 감쇠 방안)

  • In this study, we propose a method of suppressing the leakage noise signal of motor assembly through the test. The motor assembly is mounted on outside of the aircraft to rotate an antenna and must satisfy RE102 requirement on MIL-STD-461F in terms of electromagnetic interference. It is confirmed by RE102 test result hat the leakage noise signal of the equipment occurs due to external influx through the power and control cable and rotation of the motor. And it is ascertained that the part where internal/external physical shielding is difficult to rotate is the leakage path. To reduce the leakage noise signal, the electrical ground reinforcement and the electric shielding structure considering the operation of the equipment is applied and it is verified that the requirement is satisfied. Finally, we verified that required specification are met by applying circular corrugated choke with interlocking shapes and conductive grease to the noise leakage path.

Influence of Impulsive Random Noise on Digital Modulation Systems in Electromagnetic Interference Environments (전자간섭 환경하에서 임펄스성 랜덤잡음이 디지틀 변조방식에 미치는 영향)

  • The error rate performances of digital modulation systems in fluenced by impulsive noise have been investigated and discussed in the enviroment of electromagnetic interference(EMI). Using the derived equations for the probabilities of error of L-level ASK, M-ary PSK, MSK, QAM, and APK signals, the error rate performance of each system has been evaluated and compared each other. The results show that, in the case of gaussian noise enviornment, PSK system is superior to the other systems and the digital amplitude modulation systems are inferior on the contrary. In the environment of impulsive noise, the MSK at low interfere level shows the best error rate performance but in the high level interferer environment, the PSK shows the best error rate performance. Also it is known that the digital amplitude modulation systems are scarcely influenced by the variation of interfere level.

  • This paper presents a Interleaved Buck Converter(IBC) system with Random PWM to reduce electromagnetic noise by harmonics. Swithced mode power supply generally controlled by high switching frequency have a electromagnetic interference(EMI) issue due to the high-voltage/high-current switching to regulate the voltage in buck converter. To solve the problem. we present a novel IBC system with PRBS. IBC system has two active switches with 180 phase difference that controll the cicuit with two PWM signal. IBC system may be disadventageous for the cost due to the addtion of one set of switch, but it has adventages of power distribution, current ripple cancellation, fast transient response, and passive component size reduction. To verify the validity of study, simulation program has been bulit using PSIM and the experimental results of IBC system using RPWM was compared with the conventinal PWM and randomized PWM.

Design of Hysteretic Buck Converter with A Low Output Ripple Voltage and Fixed Switching Frequency in CCM (작은 출력 전압 리플과 연속 전도모드에서 고정된 스위칭 주파수를 가지는 히스테리틱 벅 변환기 설계)

  • An efficient fast response hysteretic buck converter suitable for mobile application is propoesed. The problems of large output ripple and difficulty in using of small power inductor that conventional hysteretic converter has are improved by adding ramp generator. and the changeable switching frequency with load current is fixed by adding a delay time control circuit composed of PLL structure resulting in decrease of EMI noise. The circuits are implemented by using BCDMOS 0.35um 2-polt 4-metal process. Measurement results show that the converter operates with a switching frequency of 1.85MHz when drives 80mA load current. As the converter drives over 170mA load current, the switching frequency is fixed on 2MHz. The converter has output ripple voltage of less 20mV and more than efficiency 85% with 50~500mA laod current condition.

  • 21세기를 접하면서 산업전자 분야의 비약적인 발전과 함께 과학문명은 눈부시게 발전해 나아가고 있다. 이것의 원천은 바로 전기(Electric)이다. 우리는 풍요로운 삶 자체를 전기 공급에서 누리고 있으며 또 비극적인 사태를 맞이할 때도 있다. 즉, 전기기기를 이용하면 원하건 원치 않건 전자기파가 발생이 된다 이것이 자연현상이며 전자기파는 IT, BT, CT를 비롯하여 산업 전체에 많은 영향을 미치고 있다. 일반적으로 우리가 말하는 전자기파 장해의 기본 요소는 노이즈원(잡음원), 경로매체, 피해장치 등으로 구성되는 데 잡음원(Noise Source)은 각종 시스템에서 구성되고 있는 전자기 에너지의 발생원으로 볼 수 있으며 이 발생원에서 경로매체(금속:전도성, 대기중:전파성 등)를 통하여 피해장치(전기전자통신기기류)에 방해를 주고 있는 상태를 전자기파 장해라고 설명할 수 있다. 전자기파 잡음원에서 경로를 거쳐 전자기파에 대하여 피해장치가 안정된 상태로 동작하도록 규정하는 용어 즉, 전자파 양립성 또는 적합성 (EMC : Electro Magnetic Compatibility))이란 용어를 가지고 전기 전자 통신기기에서 발생되는 불필요한 전자파와 전자파 내성시험을 만족하도록 의무화하고 있다. EMC 는 EMI (불요 전자파 또는 전자파 간섭 : Electro Magnetic Interference) + EMS (전자파 내성 : Electro Magnetic Susceptibility) 2가지 시험을 함께 전자파 적합성 (EMC) 시험으로 표현되고 있다. 전자파 적합성 시험의 목적으로 EMl는 전도성 또는 전파성에 대한 주파수 대역(잡음)을 보호하기 위한 것이 목적이고 EMS는 프로세서가 내장된 기기류의 오동작을 방지하기 위하여 감응평가를 하는 것이다. 즉, 감응(Susceptibility)이란 어떤 장비나 시스템이 전자기파 장해에 쉽게 영향을 받는 것을 뜻하는 데 전자파 장해를 견디면서 본래의 기능을 충분하게 발휘하며 동작할 수 있는 능력을 말한다.

  • A new driving circuit for the SPSS (Single-Pulse Soft-Switching) PFC converter is proposed. The switching device of a SPSS converter switches once in every half cycle of an AC commercial power source. Therefore, it can be solved many problems caused by the high frequency operation. The proposed SPSS converter achieves the soft-switching operation and the EMI noise can be reduced. The resonant capacitor voltage supplies to the resonant inductor even if the input AC voltage is the vicinity of zero cross voltage. Then, the power factor and input current waveform can be improved without delay time. A new driving circuit achieves the operation of SPSS converter by one switching drive circuit. The proposed converter can be satisfied the IEC standard sufficiently

  • An EMC analysis of a switched mode power supply (SMPS) have been usually using unbalance circuit topologies and the major factor of disturbance is parasitic capacitance. We have proposed a balanced switching converter circuit, which is an effective way to reduce the common mode conducted noise.   • Chunghwa Picture Tubes, LTD. (CPT) has developed a Novel TFT-LCD Driving Techniquel. This new technique is developed in combination with other state-of-the-art image processing solutions such as image compression / decompression, motion detection, and noise reduction. By applying the Novel Driving Technique to the high resolution TFT-LCD, it was found that the response time can be effectively reduced with a lower overall system cost by smaller frame memory requirement, lower EMI by less memory band-width. Likewise, higher display quality can also be achieved in that the unexpected noises generated by over-drive can be eliminated. The Novel TFT-LCD Driving Technique has been successfully implemented to the 30 inch WXGA (1280${\times}$768) resolution TFT LCD commercial TV module. It was found that the quality of moving picture was better improved compared with that of the conventional fast response driving method.

  • This paper describes the performance improvement of dc TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welder. The TIG welder consists of single phase full bridge IGBT inverter which incorporates the high frequency transformer, the boost converter for improving the input power factor, and the arc start system. The arc will be generated without fail even when the extension cable between the torch and the power source is 100m long. In addition, the arc start system with a short dc output voltage will generate less EMI noise than the traditional arc start system with a high frequency output voltage. To demonstrate the practical significance of the proposed methods, some simulation studies are presented.

  • A novel two stage soft-switching ac-to-dc convener with power factor correction is proposed. The proposed convener provides zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) condition to main switch of boost pre-regulator without auxiliary switch. Comparing to the conventional two stage approach(ZVS-PWM boost rectifier followed by off-line ZVS dc-dc step down converter), the proposed approach is simple and reducing EMI noise problem. A new simple DC-linked energy feedback circuit provides zero-voltage-switching condition to boost pre-regulator without imposing additional voltage and current stresses and loss of PWM capability. Operational principle, analysis, control of the proposed converter together with the simulation results of 1KW prototype are presented.
