옻의 특징과 옻을 지지재로 사용한 전자파 흡수체의 두께에 따른 전파흡순 특성 분석 (An Analysis of Natural Lacquer Characteristics and EM Wave Absorber's Absorption Characteristics Using Natural Lacquer as a Binder)

  • 고성능 복합형 전자파 흡수체를 개발하기 위해 종래에는 지지재로서 주로 Silicone 고무나 CPE(Chloride Polyethylene)가 사용되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 전통 공예에서 사용되어 오던 옻에 대한 특징을 분석하고 옻의 전자파 흡수능을 실험을 통하여 평가하였다. 또한, 옻을 지지재로 사용하여 MnZn 페라이트와 배합하여 전자파 흡수체를 제작한 경우의 전자파 흡수능 및 흡수체의 두께에 따른 흡수능을 실험적으로 평가하였다. 옻을 지지재로 한 MnZn 페라이트 복합형 전자파 흡수체는 CPE나 Silicone 고무를 지지재로 한 전자파 흡수체에 비하여 우수한 전파흡수특성 나타내었으며, 옻을 지지재로 사용한 전자파흡수체의 두께 변화에 따라 정합주파수와 전파흡수능이 변화하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • In this paper, we fabricated the EM wave absorber for 94 GHz radar sensors using Permalloy of magnetic material with chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), and S-parameter was measured. The complex relative permittivity and permeability are calculated by the measured data. Absorption abilities are simulated according to different thickness of the EM wave absorbers, and the EM wave absorber was manufactured based on the simulated design. Simulated and measured results agree very well. As a result, we developed the EM wave absorber with the thickness of 1.15 mm which has an absorption ability of 18 dB at 94 GHz.

  • 본 논문에서 Sendust, Mn-Zn, Ni-Zn, Ba, Sr Ferrite를 사용하여 페인트형 흡수체를 제작하였다. 지지재로서는 enamel, epoxy, urethane 페인트들을 사용하여 각각 흡수능을 측정하였다. 그리고 $Al(OH)_3$으로 코팅한 흡수체의 대역폭은 코팅을 하지 않은 것보다 더 넓어지는 것을 알 수 있다. 또 2 mm 두께의 적층형 흡수체는 X-band에서 대략 20 dB의 흡수능을 보여준다.

  • We prepared paint-type and sheet-type EM wave absorbers with Mn-Zn Ferrite, Ni-Zn Ferrite, Ba Ferrite, Sr Ferrite, and Sendust against ghosts of a mater in ships. To prepare the absorbers, enamel paint and epoxy paint were used as binders. The prepared EM wave absorber's absorption properties were investigated.   • In order to construct an Anechoic Chamber satisfying international standards for EMI testing, it has been recognized that the absorption characteristics of the EM wave absorber must be higher than 20 dB over the frequency band from 30 MHz to 18 GHz. In this paper, an EM wave absorber with super wide-band frequency characteristics was proposed and designed in order to satisfy the above requirements by using the Equivalent Material Constant Method(EMCM) and Finite Difference Time Domain(FDTD). The proposed absorber is to attach a pyramidal absorber onto a hemisphere-type absorber on a cutting cone-shaped ferrite. As a result, the proposed absorber has absorption characteristics higher than 20 dB over the frequency band from 30 MHz to more than 20 GHz.

  • We compared electromagnetic(EM) wave absorption properties between Alnico magnet (A) and (B) with different magnetic properties. Also, we investigated the effect of carbon, thickness of absorbers, and Alnico contents on EM wave absorption, and clarified the relation between Alnico content and central frequency.

Design and Fabrication of the EM Wave Absorber with Excellent Characteristics for ETC System

  • In this paper, the EM wave absorber for ETC system was designed and fabricated. We fabricated several samples in different composition ratios of flaked sendust and CPE(Chlorinated Polyethylene). Absorption abilities were simulated in accordance with different thicknesses of the prepared absorbers and changed complex relative permittivity and permeability according to composition ratio. The optimized mixing ratio of flaked sendust and CPE was found as 60 : 40 wt.% by experiments and simulation. Then the EM wave absorber was fabricated and tested using the simulated data. As a result, the developed EM wave absorber has the thickness of 2.75 mm and absorption ability was 22.5 dB in the case of normal incidence at 5.8 GHz. Therefore, it was confirmed that the newly developed absorber can be used for ETC system.

  • 최근 DSRC, 협대역 통신 방식을 이용하여 고속도로 톨게이트에 Hi-pass(차량의 무정차 자동 요금 징수)를 운용하고 있지만, 전파의 다중 반사로 인한 전파 간섭이 발생하여 시스템의 오류 및 사고가 발생하고 있다. 이러한 문제들은 전파 흡수체를 사용하여 해결할 수 있다. 본 논문은 전파 흡수 재료인 비정질 재료와 지지재인 CPE를 배합하여 최적의 조성비를 찾고 DSRC용 전파 흡수체를 개발하는 연구를 하였다. 그 결과, 조성비 비정질 재료 :CPE=45:55 wt.%, 두께 2.65 mm인 전파 흡수체가 5.8 GHz에서 40 dB 이상의 흡수능이 얻어지도록 개발하였다.

A Study on Absorption Properties of the EM Wave Absorber Using TiO2 in W-band

  • In this paper, the electromagnetic (EM) wave absorbers using TiO2 as a dielectric material with chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) were investigated in W-band radio frequencies. We compared the relative permittivity with reflectionless curve and the absorption properties of samples containing 40 wt.%, 50 wt.%, 60 wt.%, 70 wt.%, and 80 wt.% TiO2. It is possible to realize a complex relative permittivity satisfying the reflectionless condition by choosing composition ratio of TiO2. The optimized composition ratio of TiO2 for the maximum absorption property is about 70 wt.%. As a result, we have confirmed the realization of an EM wave absorber with a high absorption property in W-band radio frequencies.

  • With the progress of the electronics industry and radio communication technology, certain problems, such as electromagnetic interference(EMI), have arisen due to the increased use of electromagnetic(EM) waves. International organizations such as CISPR, FCC, and ANSI have provided the standards for the EM wave environment and for the countermeasure of the electromagnetic compatibility(EMC). EM wave absorbers are used for constructing an anechoic chamber to test and measure EMI and electromagnetic susceptibility(EMS). In this paper, we have designed an one-body EM(electromagnetic) wave ferrite absorber, based on the equivalent material constants method for both normally and obliquely incident waves, whose absorption abilities are superior to that of the conventional ones. The fabricated absorber has a thickness of 27.68 mm and shows an absorption ability over 20 ㏈ in the frequency from 30 MHz to 6 ㎓.
