With the advent of BCI technology in recent years, various BCI products have been released. BCI technology enables brain information to be transmitted directly to a computer, and it will bring a lot of convenience to life. However, there is a problem with information protection. In particular, EEG data can raise issues about personal privacy. Collecting and analyzing big data on EEG reports raises serious concerns about personal information exposure. In this paper, we propose a secure privacy-preserving BCI model in a big data environment. The proposed model could prevent personal identification and protect EEG data in the cloud environment.

In this paper, we analyzed the effects of musical stimuli on humans in performing mathematical tasks through EEG measurements. The musical stimuli were divided into preferred music and non-preferred music, and mathematical tasks were divided into memorization task and procedure task. The data measured in the EEG experiments was divided into frequency bands of Theta, SMR, and Mid-beta because of the concentration. In our results, preferred music causes more positive emotional response than no music and non-preferred music regardless of the type of mathematical task.

This paper performs emotion classification test to find out the best parameter of electroencyphalogram(EEG) signal. Linear predictor coefficients, band cross-correlation coefficients of fast Fourier transform(FFT) and autoregressive model spectra are used as the parameters of 10-channel EEG signal. A multi-layer neural network is used as the pattern classifier. Four emotions for relaxation, joy, sadness, irritation are induced by four university students of an acting circle. Electrode positions are Fp1, Fp2, F3, F4, T3, T4, P3, P4, O1, O2. As a result, the Linear predictor coefficients showed the best performance.

In this paper, we measured and analyzed the EEG signals related to the relativity between musical stimuli and human concentration for memorization. In our experiments, the subjects carried out the tasks related to human memorization exposing to musical stimuli and the tasks are to memorize the english words. We used two kinds of musical stimuli, one is a sedative tendency music and the other is a stimulative tendency music. We presented the results that are analyzed as the EEG signals by frequency bands, respectively.

In this study, the effect of wearing functional compression pants is verified using a lower-limb wearable robot through a bio-signal analysis and subjective fit evaluation. First, the compression area to be applied to the functional compression pants is derived using the quad method for nine men in their 20s. Subsequently, functional compression pants are prepared, and changes in Electroencephalogram (EEG) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals when wearing the functional compression and normal regular pants inside a wearable robot are measured. The EEG and ECG signals are measured with eyes closed and open. Results indicate that the Relative alpha (RA) and Relative gamma wave (RG) of the EEG signal differ significantly, resulting in increased stability and reduced anxiety and stress when wearing the functional compression pants. Furthermore, the ECG analysis results indicate statistically significant differences in the Low frequency (LF)/High frequency (HF) index, which reflect the overall balance of the autonomic nervous system and can be interpreted as feeling comfortable and balanced when wearing the functional compression pants. Moreover, subjective sense is discovered to be effective in assessing wear fit, ease of movement, skin friction, and wear comfort when wearing the functional compression pants.
This paper describes a new algorithm for human sensibility evaluation using two personality-group templates of electroencephalogram (EEG) signals. EEG signals of two groups arc collected in relaxed state, comfortable state and uncomfortable state. First of all, the characteristics of EEGs in relaxed state for two groups are compared. After verification of the results, an algorithm for sensibility evaluation is developed. In comparison of the characteristics for two personality-group EEG signals. there are distinct difference between the EEG patterns of the extrovert and the introvert. Upon these findings, the algorithm for human sensibility evaluation is designed. The results of the algorithm showed 90.0% of coincidence with given tasks. This seems to be compromising results for subject independent sensibility evaluation using EEG signal.

An adaptive digital filtering of the electroencophalogram(EEG) is a successful way of suppressing mains interference, but it affects some of the frequency components of the signal, an artifact which not be acceptable in some cases of automatic EEG processing. The types of electrical artifact seen on EEG records is described. Those are the EOG and the PVC roller pump noise. And we study the method for cancelling these artifacts. The method does not need the reference channel, and are obtained by cascading the linear predictor and the noise canceller. The simulation results illustrate the performances of the presented method in terms of the capability of interferences suppression.

Epilepsy is one of the most prevalent neurological diseases. Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals are widely used for monitoring and diagnosis tool for epileptic seizure. Typically, a huge amount of EEG signals is needed, where they are visually examined by experienced clinicians. In this study, we propose a simple automatic seizure detection framework using intracranial EEG signals. We suggest a sparse approximation based classification (SAC) scheme by solving overdetermined system. L1-norm minimization algorithms are utilized for efficient sparse signal recovery. For evaluation of the proposed scheme, the public EEG dataset obtained by five healthy subjects and five epileptic patients is utilized. The results show that the proposed fast L1-norm minimization based SAC methods achieve the 99.5% classification accuracy which is 1% improved result than the conventional L2 norm based method with negligibly increased execution time (42msec).

This paper presents the correlation between psychological and physiological acoustics for the automotive acceleration sound. The research purpose of this paper is to evaluate the sound quality of acceleration sound of a passenger car based EEG signal. The previous method for the objective evaluation of sound quality is to use sound metrics based on psychological acoustics. This method uses not only psychological acoustics but also physiological acoustics. For this work, the sounds of 7 premium passenger cars are recorded and evaluated subjectively by 33 people. The correlation between the subjective rating and sound metrics is calculated based on physiological acoustics. Finally the correlation between the subjective rating and the EEG signal measured on the brain is also calculated. Throughout these results the new evaluation system for the sound quality on the automotive acceleration sound of a passenger car has been developed based on bio-signal.
