A Study on the Optimal Water Supply using Virtual Drought Exercise with Hydrological Drought Index (수문학적 가뭄지수와 가상가뭄훈련에 의한 저수지의 최적 물 공급 방안 연구)

  • Drought is a natural phenomena caused by long time lack of precipitation causing varying damages in several regions which increases yearly. Specifically, in 1994$\sim$1995 and 2001 severe drought occurred in almost every region of Korea. Small and medium sized water supply reservoirs exposed their bottoms and also raised considerable economic losses. In spite of this fact, damages and impacts from the drought can still be minimized by well defined drought management plans with optimal management of water supply facilities. Throughout this research, integrated drought information system is proposed to used in monitoring the drought of Korea in real time. And the expert system for the management of water supply facilities has developed using Shared Vision Model (SVM) to enable the Virtual Drought Exercise (VDE). To find a better way to manage water during drought and to develop the enhanced abilities to respond to drought, virtual drought exercise is the most effective approach and process. The proposed process of virtual drought exercise using integrated drought information system can be used as an effective tool to prepare the optimal water supply plans during the drought.

Research on Application of Requirements-based Software Reliability Verification to Domestic Military Aircraft (요구사항 기반 소프트웨어 신뢰성 인증의 국내 군용 항공기 적용방안 연구)

  • In recent years, It is required to verify software reliability according to DO-178, which announced by radio technical commission for aeronautics (RTCA) and recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), for civil aircraft developed or intended to fly in the United States or Europe. This is because the reliance on software in each field is deepening, and the efforts for improvement of software reliability have been made first in civil aviation field where economic and social impacts are catastrophic in the event of an accident. In this paper, we have identified some issues to be considered for requirements-based reliability verification required by DO-178 to improve software reliability and present the major elements of the present weapon system acquisition procedure of DAPA for each stage. In addition, we analyzed the results of applying the identified main check factors to a domestic aircraft development project based on the information accumulated in overseas aircraft development projects. As a result, we have shown that it is possible to verify requirements-based software reliability according to DO-178 by adding key checkpoints to the current weapon system acquisition procedure and providing objective inspection criteria.

  • This study is aimed at compare and evaluate the environmental impact of End-of-Life Vehicle(ELV) on the eco-friendly technology dismantling and recycling system, using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method. In this study, it was analyzed for the environmental impacts of raw materials, disassemble process, recycle parts separation and waste treatment into the process of ELV treatment by greenhouse gas and resource consumption, etc. Through this study, the indoor rail type dismantling technology were recycling rate applied on the alternate system was increased by approximately 8%. As a result, it was 3 to 88% by improving the environmental impact category. In addition, the added benefit of approximately 8 - 62% in pre-market occurred through the recycling rate, improve parts reuse rate of ELV. Through the results of this study, legal compliance, improved reuse and recycling ratio, used parts market reach, enable exports has identified the need for the effort that the dissemination and diffusion of eco-friendly technology.

State Indicator of Water Quality for Surface Water and Groundwater in Agriculture

  • Indicators of environmental conditions qualitatively and quantitatively describe the state of the environment and natural resources, and the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) has initiated and suggested AEIs (Agri-Environmental Indicators) to assess trends over time of the effects of agriculture on the environment and the effectiveness and efficiency of agricultural and environmental policy measures since 1990's. This study aims to develop the state indicators of water quality for agricultural water, surface and groundwater, to evaluate the environmental impacts of agricultural activities and policies by qualifying the environmental levels of a nation. Status indicators were calculated according to the agricultural water quality standards of OECD and Korea, and their trends were analyzed over time. Particularly, nitrate ($NO_3{^-}$) status indicators of ground water in 2013 were significantly lower than the ones in 2000. Overall, the water quality indicators of surface water in 2013 were higher than the ones in 2012, except for pH and DO. The groundwater quality indicators in 2013 were lower than those of previous years. The optimal management indicators were calculated to assess agricultural surface water and groundwater quality. The findings of this study indicated that the state indicators could play a significant role to establish policies and procedures for managing and conserving water resources. This study also discussed water pollution caused by agricultural and industrial effluents.

Study of the Heeling Angle Prediction by using Simulation Data (시뮬레이션 데이터를 이용한 횡경사 각도 예측 방법 연구)

  • As ships become bigger, faster, and diverse, transportation has increased the usage of marine vehicles. However, ship accidents are increasing. Ship accidents cause loss of life and property as well as environmental disasters. The occurrence of ship accidents causes enormous economic and environmental impacts. Notably, in the case of passenger ships, methods for preventing ship accidents are being discussed to avoid losing numerous human lives. The purpose of this study is to provide essential data for evacuation before reaching the dangerous time by predicting the time to reach the risk of capsizing based on the heeling angle of the passenger ship. Based on sinking accidents between 2012 and 2016, we set up specific scenarios and simulated the PRR1 data using commercial software MOSES V20. In the case of the linear equation, the simulation results showed a low error rate because the simulation data showed the linear graph. In the case of the quadratic equation, the error rate was low at the beginning but showed a high error rate at the subsequent angle.

  • In order to newly expand and define the concept of "strategic servitization" based on Industry 4.0, this study tried to evaluate the existing status of domestic and foreign servitized manufacturing and investigated the servitization cases of some leading overseas companies. In addition, we chose 250 samples of manufacturing firms listed on KOSDAQ and collected a vast amount of data regarding servitized manufacturing, such as the current status about new businesses, profit model, and financial fluctuations of each company. Based on these data, we classified the main types of manufacturing-service convergence into a $2{\times}2$ framework and derived a new strategic servitization model for each type of signature. Furthermore, we divided the sample corporations into three groups, which are pure manufacturer, servitized firm, and strategic servitized firm, and through the mutual comparison of the real sales amounts and the estimated sales amounts by time-series extrapolation analysis, we statistically proved that the service sales of strategic servitized firms give positive impacts on ROA when compared with those of the other two groups. Finally, we selected 12 leading domestic strategic-servitized firms, interviewed them in depth, and not only organized the issues during this process and their solutions by categories but also suggested the policy demands for strategic servitization.

Applicability of the Wind Erosion Prediction System for prediction of soil loss by wind in arable land

  • The precise estimation of accelerated soil wind erosion that can cause severe economic and environmental impacts still has not been achieved to date. The objectives of this investigation were to verify the applicability of a Wind Erosion Prediction System (WEPS) that expressed the soil loss as mass per area for specific areas of interest on a daily basis for a single event in arable lands. To this end, we selected and evaluated the results published by Hagen in 2004 and the soil depth converted from the mass of soil losses obtained by using the WEPS. Hagen's results obtained from the WEPS model followed the 1 : 1 line between predicted and measured value for soil losses with only less than 2 kg·m-2 whereas the values between the measured and predicted loss did not show any correlation for the given field conditions due to the initial field surface condition although the model provided reasonable estimates of soil loss. Calculated soil depths of the soil loss by wind for both the observed and predicted ones ranged from 0.004 to 3.113 cm·10 a-1 and from 0 to 2.013 cm·10 a-1, respectively. Comparison of the soil depths between the observed and predicted ones did not show any good relationship, and there was no soil loss in the predicted one while slight soil loss was measured in the observed one. Therefore, varying the essential model inputs and factors related to wind speed and soil properties are needed to accurately estimate soil loss for a given field in arable land.

  • The pandemic age came to us after the COVID19 broke out in the early of 2020, which resulted in many changes in our everyday life. One of the changes is non-contact transactions in economic activities, especially contact-free financial transactions are ever-increasing activities in the pandemic age. In non-contact financial transactions, security and trust are important issues that users are concerned about the most. So the paper examines how security and trust have effects on the attitudes of bank customers who use mobile banking applications on their smartphones. The study conducted factor ananlysis to extract research constructs using survey data gathered during Nobember of 2020 through February of 2021 across the nation. After extracting the constructs, the study checked validity, sampling adequacy, and internal reliability with KMO, Bartlett's test, and Crombach Alpha respectively. To make sure the purpose of the study, I do regression analysis. All factors of attitude had impacts on willingness on both of transactions and purchasing financial products. The results could give guidelines banks which want to attract more customers in open-banking environment through ever-more secure and trusty mobile banking application.

Exploring Countries Eligible for Official Development Assistance Towards Global Forest Conservation Focusing on Green ODA Criteria (Green ODA 요건에 따른 산림 분야 공적개발원조 대상국 탐색)

  • While deforestation and forest degradation has continued globally, global society has been making efforts to prevent deforestation towards sustainable development. Reforestation in developing countries is linked to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as climate change mitigation, conservation of biodiversity, eradication of poverty and upholding of human rights. Forest official development assistance (ODA) restores the global forest land, and increases the public benefit. Bilateral forest ODA projects of the Republic of Korea have gradually increased and most of those projects have currently been concentrated in Asian countries. Selecting recipient countries for forest ODA requires more comprehensive approach since the global goals for sustainable development has been widely adapted to ODA strategic plans. We proposed potentially promising countries that are eligible for receiving 'Green ODA' in perspective of economic, social and environment to implement reducing emissions from deforestation and degradation (REDD+), conserving biodiversity, and combating desertification. As a result, the study suggests that forestry cooperation could be expanded from Asian countries more toward South America and African countries. In addition, we emphasized the need to promote convergence and integration with green technology to fundamentally solve the negative impacts of deforestation such as food, energy, water resource shortages, and forest fires. We advocated expanding bilateral ODA in the forestry sector through diversification of project activities, financial sources, and participants. Our study can contribute to the provision of basic information for establishing long-term strategies to expand bilateral cooperation in the forestry sector.

Development of technology to predict the impact of urban inundation due to climate change on urban transportation networks (기후변화에 따른 도시침수가 도시교통네트워크에 미치는 영향 예측 기술 개발)

  • Climate change is predicted to increase the frequency and intensity of rainfall worldwide, and the pattern is changing due to inundation damage in urban areas due to rapid urbanization and industrialization. Accordingly, the impact assessment of climate change is mentioned as a very important factor in urban planning, and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is emphasizing the need for an impact forecast that considers the social and economic impacts that may arise from meteorological phenomena. In particular, in terms of traffic, the degradation of transport systems due to urban flooding is the most detrimental factor to society and is estimated to be around £100k per hour per major road affected. However, in the case of Korea, even if accurate forecasts and special warnings on the occurrence of meteorological disasters are currently provided, the effects are not properly conveyed. Therefore, in this study, high-resolution analysis and hydrological factors of each area are reflected in order to suggest the depth of flooding of urban floods and to cope with the damage that may affect vehicles, and the degree of flooding caused by rainfall and its effect on vehicle operation are investigated. decided it was necessary. Therefore, the calculation formula of rainfall-immersion depth-vehicle speed is presented using various machine learning techniques rather than simple linear regression. In addition, by applying the climate change scenario to the rainfall-inundation depth-vehicle speed calculation formula, it predicts the flooding of urban rivers during heavy rain, and evaluates possible traffic network disturbances due to road inundation considering the impact of future climate change. We want to develop technology for use in traffic flow planning.
