The company cannot optimize its computing environment just with individual solutions such as ERP(enterprise resource planning), SCM(supply chain management), CRM(customer relationship management), and KM(knowledge management). EAI(enterprise application integration) has emerged as an alternative that can optimize computing environment of the company through integrating such solutions and systems of distributed computing and mainframe environment. This paper reports the case study of Deakyo Co. in successfully implementing EAI. It describes project goal, project organization, project plan, the implemented EAI configuration and its features, the EAI effectiveness to the firm, and the critical success factors of the EAI project. This case study is thought to be useful as a practical guideline in carrying out EAI project of the company and to provide significant basis for constructing the theoretical framework of EAI project methodology.

웹 환경의 확산과 기업의 인수합병 등으로 기업 내 응용 시스템들을 연결하는 작업의 중요성이 날로 커지고 있다. 이에 따라 EAI(Enterprise Application Integration)은 현재 기업 정보시스템 전략의 새로이 부각되고 있는 이슈로 아직 국내에서는 이에 대한 실질적인 연구나 도입이 미미한 형편이다. 본 논문에서는 현재 나타나고 있는 각종 EAI 접근법들을 분석하여 이들의 특정을 살펴보고 EAI에 대한 체계적 연구를 위한 EAI의 분류 체계를 제시하는데 목적이 있다.

기업 활동에 있어서 기존의 시스템을 통합하는 기술을 Enterprise Application Integration (EAI)라 한다. EAI는 하나의 조직체 내에서 비즈니스의 효과를 최적화할 수 있도록 정보 자원을 최대한 활용하여 상호 연계하는 기술이다. EAI는 기업의 비용절감에 효과가 있음이 입증되었고 점차 그 시장이 커지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 시스템 통합을 위한 기술을 고찰하고 EAI 구축을 위한 기술적인 요소를 살펴본 후 실제 기업체 구축 사례를 통하여 그 효율성을 보이고자 한다.

The company protects the information of legacy system to satisfy all member in company. Integrating between applications is increasing recently because of e-Business activation. The e-Business activation also make between extra companies and intra companies integrated. This paper suggest on implementing the ERP using Phased Approach Method and the EAI(Enterprise Application Integration) with legacy system. This paper also suggest the standard method which would be used in implementing the EAI in another company and reduce the mistake during the EAI project. Therefore, it would be the one system between complicated systems through application integration, it would be also make shop floors visualized. This research would help users and service suppliers getting more advantages of e-Business system.

EAI(Enterprise Application Integration)는 기업 응용통합 기반구조로써 그 역할의 중용성이 강조되어져 왔으며, 기업 전반에 걸친 획기적인 변화와 비용 절감과 새로운 응용서비스를 생성해왔다. 그러나 이러한 서비스를 효과적으로 구현하고, 운영하기 위해서는 지속적인 모니터링과 데이터의 관리가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 효과적인 서비스의 구현과 안정적인 EAI 환경을 위한 모니터링 시스템의 요구사항과 기능들을 도출하였으며, 이를 웹 기반으로 설계 및 구현을 하였다. 이러한 모니터링 시스템은 웹 기반으로 설계, 구현되어 일반적인 EAI 환경에서 적용이 가능하다.

Recently, many enterprises are introducing EAI(Enterprise Application Integration) technologies for integrating heterogeneous enterprise information systems. Among EAI levels, data-level integration is relatively straightforward and most popular. However, current commercial solutions have complex functionalities and are expensive for implementing the data integration tasks. Also, they have their own proprietary architectures and have a restricted interoperability. Proposed in this paper is the development of data integration middleware for facilitating data exchanges between the heterogeneous information systems. The main feature of this middleware is a explicit mapping of meta data about the relationships between source and target data. Based on this mapping, users who do not have expertise in information technology at the small & medium enterprise can easily handle data exchange tasks between information systems.

기업이 시장 환경 변화에 빠르게 대응하기 위해서는 기업 업무 프로세스의 자동화가 필요하고 이러한 자동화를 위해서는 기업 응용 체계를 통합해야 한다. 기업 응용 체계를 통합하는 방법으로는 동기적 통합(Synchronous Integration) 방식과 비동기적 통합(Asynchronous Integration) 방식이 있으며 비동기적 통합 방식으로써 EAT(Enterprise Application Integration)와 Web Service는 기업 업무 프로세스를 통합할 수 있는 방법으로써 최근 대두되고 있는 방식 중에 하나이다. 비동기적 통합(Asynchronous Integration)방식을 이용하여 기업의 응용 프로그램들을 통합한 후에는 업무 프로세스의 처리 과정인 비즈니스 트랜잭션을 자동으로 처리하기 위한 트랜잭션 관리가 필요하게 된다. 이를 위해서2PC 프로토콜(2-Phase Commit Protocol)을 근간으로 한 비즈니스 트랜잭션 처리 모델들이 제안되고 있으나 기업 자원을 효율적으로 활용할 수 있는 데는 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기업의 응용 프로그램들을 통합할 수 있는 환경으로써 EAI와 Web Service와 같은 유연한 결합(Loosely Coupled)의 분산 환경에서 기업 자원을 효율적으로 관리하면서 트랜잭션을 처리하기 위한 모델을 제안한다 이 방식은 2PC 프로토콜 방식을 보완하기 위하여 Classify Phase를 추가한 3PC 프로토콜(3-Phase Commit Protocol)방식으로서 유연한 결합 환경에서 트랜잭션을 효율적으로 관리하고 트랜잭션 처리 자원을 절약할 수 있도록 한 방식이다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 분산 트랜잭션 처리방식인 2PC 프로토콜 기반의 트랜잭션 처리 모델의 문제점을 제시하고 이를 해결하기 위한 방법을 제시함으로써 제안한 모델의 성능을 확인하였다.

Recently companies are aggressively Pushing ahead with integrating the systematical applications of internal and external information systems such as Data level, Application level, Process level in the company, Process level between companies. The EAI solution is generally considered as the necessary tool to integrate companies, but the appraisal standard for the EAI solution has not Vet settled in Korea, so the companies have difficulty in deciding whether to adopt the EAI solution or not. Through this report, we first introduce the KRA Project as the best practice in making an application of the settled standard to evaluate and adopt the EAI solution, and then suggest that it can be adapted to companies considering applying to the EAI solution.

대부분의 기업은 다양한 환경의 IT자원과 Application들을 운영해 왔으며, Point to Point 수준의 인터페이스를 개발 또는 운영해오다, 몇 년 전부터 전사적인 인터페이스 표준으로서 EAI(Enterprise Application Integration)을 도입해 왔다. 그러나 EAI를 도입한 대부분의 기업은 EAI도입 당시 기대한 ROI(Return of Investment)의 효과를 보지 못해왔으며, EAI개발 및 유지보수를 위한 비용이 적절한지 한번쯤 고민해 왔을 것이다. 본고는 SK텔레콤 EAI를 약 4년 이상 개발 및 운영경험과 사례를 기준으로 효과적인 EAI개발 및 운영 생산성을 향상 방안을 제안하고자 한다.
