  • Damage of both life and property has been increased by natural disaster under the influence of climate change, thus many natural disaster vulnerability researches have been carried out to make adaptation policy and impact assessment of climate change recently. Their method for assessing vulnerability usually have used proxy variables for making vulnerability indices. However, because their results were too qualitative and relative it tends to be hard to make absolute comparison and establish standard of prevention or adaptation ability. Accordingly, this study aimed at quantifying natural disaster vulnerability using emergy through recognizing disaster as the relations between order and disorder by system approach. As a result, ordering energy (4.66E+22 sej/yr) and ordered structure (1.98E+22 sej) of Busan in 2003 and disordering energy (7.80E+18 sej), disordered parts (4.55E+20 sej) and rebuilding energy (3.87E+20 sej) by typhoon Maemi were analysed. And then, this was compared with Hurricane Andrew in Dade County. Through this comparison, if the prevention ability of Busan increases, disordered parts can be reduced against the more powerful disordering energy. Also, prevention for additional damages by disaster is needed to practical rebuilding action. In conclusion, it was able to figure out the impact of disaster quantitatively by natural systems and urban systems showing as common measure. Based on this study and further research to make effective prevention for how much prevention ability should be increased will contribute to producing the scientific data for disaster management policy in future.

An Empirical Study on the Relationship between the Key Success Factors and the Usage Effect of the e-Sports Business (e스포츠 비즈니스의 주요 성공요인과 이용효과와의 관계에 관한 실증연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to present an overview of the characteristics of the e-sports business at a crucial point in the era of information and knowledge. That is, an investigation was conducted surrounding the key success factors of e-sports as a newly growing industry, and the relationship between the key success factors and the usage effect. In order to do this, the key success factors were extracted from interviews with e-sports experts in conjunction with a survey that was conducted to gather empirical data. The key points of the statistical analysis of the survey are as follows. First, the success factors of a policy do not have a significant effect on the usage. Second, some administrative success factors of the e-sports business include the distribution of e-sports in the form of franchise chain, the establishment of policies to prevent the excellent members of e-sports from seceding, making a good impression as a high-class sport, the frequent notice of the break-even point, and educating people on how to use the e-sports machine. Third, the development and distribution of excellent e-sports software was analyzed as a technical success factor of the e-sports business. Finally, there is no doubt that results of this study can be used to facilitate the growth of the e-sports business as a new industry related to the IT industry.

  • Purpose: Technological developments make the business competition even tighter. Digitalization makes it easier for business people in their efforts to encourage the formation of consumer buying behavior because of the availability of effective and efficient means of delivering information to be used to make purchasing decisions. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of E-Wom and Website Attractiveness on E-Trust and Purchase Decision of online sales on Instagram with innovation acting as a moderating variable. Research design, data and methodology: This research sample is 170 Instagram users who have made online purchases from the local fashion brand. This research is quantitative explanative with data collection using questionnaires and analysis techniques using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach using AMOS. Results: The results showed that E-wom had a significant positive effect on Purchase decisions. Web Attractiveness has no significant effect on Purchase Decision. Ewom has a significant positive effect on E-trust. Web Attractiveness has a significant positive effect on E-trust. E-Trust has no significant effect on purchase decisions. Conclusions: Innovation can moderate the effect of E-trust on Purchase decisions. Purchase Decisions can be influenced by E-wom and E-trust, but not Web Attractiveness.

MINIMAL CLOZ-COVERS AND BOOLEAN ALGEBRAS

  • In this paper, we first show that for any space X, there is a Boolean subalgebra $\mathcal{G}(z_X)$ of R(X) containg $\mathcal{G}(X)$. Let X be a strongly zero-dimensional space such that $z_{\beta}^{-1}(X)$ is the minimal cloz-coevr of X, where ($E_{cc}({\beta}X)$, $z_{\beta}$) is the minimal cloz-cover of ${\beta}X$. We show that the minimal cloz-cover $E_{cc}(X)$ of X is a subspace of the Stone space $S(\mathcal{G}(z_X))$ of $\mathcal{G}(z_X)$ and that $E_{cc}(X)$ is a strongly zero-dimensional space if and only if ${\beta}E_{cc}(X)$ and $S(\mathcal{G}(z_X))$ are homeomorphic. Using these, we show that $E_{cc}(X)$ is a strongly zero-dimensional space and $\mathcal{G}(z_X)=\mathcal{G}(X)$ if and only if ${\beta}E_{cc}(X)=E_{cc}({\beta}X)$.

  • EtOAc extract from the bark of Pinus koraiensis Sieb. et Zucc was isolated by column chromatography which was packed with Sephadex LH-20 or TSK-gel HW-40F. Several stilbene glycosides were identified by $^1H{\cdot}^{13}C$-NMR, HMQC, HMBC and $FAB^+$ MS. Three stilbene glycosides, Z-pinostilbenoside, E-desoxyrhaponticin, and E-resveratroloside, were identified.

The Effects of Dietary Patterns and Apolipoprotein E Phenotype on the Blood Lipid Profiles of Individuals from Cheju Area (제주지역 성인의 Apolipoprotein E Phenotype 분포와 식생활 및 혈청지질 농도의 관련인자 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the relation between serum lipid profiles, apolipoprotein E phenotype, and dietary patterns in a cross-section of healthy individuals from Cheju-Do. Age, gender, anthropometric measurements, blood pressure, dietary consumption, drinking / smoking habits and menopausal status were surveyed. Total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, triglyceride, fasting blood glucose, and insulin levels were measured from overnight fasting blood. The study involved a total of 286 individuals(147 men and 139 women) between the ages of 20 and 60 years old. All of the subjects were recruited from a population of healthy individuals living in Cheju-Do. The results of the study are as follows : 1) Among the males, those in their 20's had the maximum food intake, while those in their 40's had the minimum food intake. For the females, food intake was the highest for those in their 30's. Energy and nutrient intakes were directly proportional to the amount of food intake. Men in their 30's were heavier than other men and women in their 40's were heavier than other women. The activity index for men in their 20's and 30's appeared to be lower than that of men above 40. The activity index of women in their 20's appeared to be lowest among all aged groups, and the index appeared to increase from the age of 30 onwards. 2) In terms of changes In serum constituents with age, men in their 40's appeared to have the highest levels of serum constituents such as lipids, glucose, and insulin. Men in their 50's showed the highest levels of serum LDL-cholesterol and glucose. Men in their 30's showed peak levels of serum triglycerides. On the other hand, women in their 50's appeared to have peak levels of serum total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and triglycerides. There was no ch:ange with age in HDL-cholesterol and insulin levels for men and women. The percentage of the subjects had the following apo E phenotypes : E3/3, 91.3% ; E3/2, 5.4% ; E4/3, 2.5% ; E4/2, 0.7%. Lee's reserch with Korean female college students showed that the percentage of ApoE3/3, E3/2, E 4/2, E4/3, and E4/4 were 84.8%, 6.7%, 6.7%, 0.9%, 0.9%, respectively. The number of samples with ApoE mutation was so small that there was no statistical significance in the relation between apolipoprotein E phenotype and se겨m lipids. 3) To investigate the relati onship between weight and serum constituents, the subjects of this study were divided into three groups by BMI underweight, normal weight, and overweight. The serum constituents of men and women below the age 40 in the overweight groups belonged to the normal domain. On the other hand, serum cholesterol levels of both men and women above the age 40 in the overweight groups remained in the borderline-high region(above 200mg/dl), and the mean value of LDL-cholesterol(above 130mg/dl) and triglycerides of men were above normal. Fasting blood glucose levels also remained in the borderline-high region. Total cholesterol levels of women above the age 40 in the overweight group was in the borderline-high region.   • Additively manufactured (AM) Ti-6Al-4V alloys exhibit a dominant acicular martensite phase (α'), which is characterized by an unstable energy state and highly localized corrosion susceptibility. Electrochemical critical localized corrosion temperature (E-CLCT, ISO 22910: 2020) and electrochemical critical localized corrosion potential (E-CLCP, ISO AWI 4631: 2021) were measured to analyze the localized corrosion resistance of the AM Ti-6Al-4V alloy. Although E-CLCP was measured under mild corrosive conditions such as human body, the validity of evaluating localized corrosion resistance of AM titanium alloys was demonstrated by comparison with E-CLCT. However, the mechanisms of resistance to localized corrosion on the as-received and heat-treated AM Ti-6Al-4V alloys under E-CLCT and E-CLCP differ at various temperatures because of differences in properties under localized corrosion and repassivation. The E-CLCT is mainly measured for initiation of localized corrosion on the AM titanium alloys based on temperature, whereas the E-CLCP yields repassivation potential of re-generated passive films of AM titanium alloys after breaking down.

A study on Electronic Properties of Passive Film Formed on Ti

  • Electronic properties of passive films formed on Ti at film formation potentials $(E_f)V_{SCE}$ in pH 8.5 buffer solution and in an artificial seawater were examined through the photocurrent measurement and Mott-Schottky analysis. The passive films formed on Ti in pH 8.5 buffer solution exhibited a n-type semiconductor with a band gap energys $(E_g);E_g^{n=2}=3.4$ eV for nondirect electron transition, and $E_g^{n=0.5}=3.7$ eV for direct electron transition. These band gap values were almost same as those for the passive films formed in artificial seawater, indicating that chloride ion ($Cl^-$ in solution did not affect the electronic structure of the passive film on Ti. $E_g$ for passive films formed on Ti were found to be greater than those ($E_g^{n=0.5}=3.1$ eV, $E_g^{n=2}=3.4$) for a thermal oxide film formed on Ti in air at $400^{\circ}C$. The disorder energy of passive film, determined from the absorption tail of photocurrent spectrum, was much greater than that for the thermal oxide film farmed on Ti in air at $400^{\circ}C$. The greater $E_g$ and the higher disorder energy for the passive film compared with those for the thermal oxide fIlm suggest that the passive film on Ti exhibited more disorded structure than the thermal oxide film. The donor density (about $2.4{\times}10^{20}cm^{-3}$) for the passive film formed in artificial seawater was greater than that (about $20{\times}10^{20}cm^{-3}$) formed in pH 8.5 buffer solution, indicating that $Cl^-$ increased the donor density for the passive film on Ti.

NPY Distribution in Diencephalon of Developing Chick (발생중인 병아리의 사이뇌에서 NPY 양성반응세포의 분포)

  • This study deals with the distribution and morphological study of the neurons with the neuropeptide Y (NPY) in developing chick brain. The developing brains of Korean native chicks at embryonic days 8 (E8), E10, E12, E14, E16, E18, and E20 were used. The chicks were perfused with 4% paraformaldehyde through the left ventricle and aorta. The brains were removed and transferred into 30% sucrose, and then cut in a cryostat into $60{\mu}m$ in thickness. The sections were immunostained with free-floating and avidin-biotin complex (ABC) methods. The numerous neurons with NPY were first observed in nucleus rotundus of diencephalon at E8. In particular, neurons in nucleus rotundus had the well-developed processes. At E12, the neurons with NPY were distributed widely in diencephalon; nucleus septalis lateralis, medialis, nucleus magnocelluaris preopticus dorsalis, medialis, ventralis, nucleus preopticus medialis, nucleus dorsolateralis anterior thalami pars magnocellularis, and nucleus paraventricularis magnocellularis (paraventricular nucleus) except nucleus rotundus. From E12 to E20, positive neurons were oval-shaped, changed gradually into the spherical- and multipolar-shaped. The shapes of processes were also omnidirectional and the number of those were less than in telencephalon. As the chicks developed, the morphology of neurons with NPY showed the tendency to increase in their sizes and numbers.

Multiplication of Escherichia coli DH5α::gfp on Strawberry Fruit Surface (딸기과실 표면에서 Eschercia coli DH5α::gfp 증식)

  • To verify the multiplication of microorganisms on the surface of strawberries, the fate of E. coli $DH5{\alpha}::gfp$ at different temperatures, times and strawberry extract concentrations were measured. The population of E. coli $DH5{\alpha}::gfp$ rapidly increased by 7.36~7.78 log CFU/g at $25{\sim}30^{\circ}C$ for 24 hr and slowly increased by 6.49~8.49 log CFU/g at $10{\sim}20^{\circ}C$ for 48 hr. However, E. coli $DH5{\alpha}::gfp$ did not grow at $10{\sim}15^{\circ}C$ on the surface of the strawberries, regardless of the contact times with the bacterial suspension. E. coli $DH5{\alpha}::gfp$ reached 1.52~3.26 log CFU/g at $20^{\circ}C$ as the contact frequency increased from two to six times. The contact frequencies did not significantly differ. In the case of the six-time contact on the surface of the strawberry at 25 and $30^{\circ}C$, the E. coli $DH5{\alpha}::gfp$ increased by 5.17 and 5.01 log CFU/g. The effects of the strawberry extracts on the growth of E. coli $DH5{\alpha}::gfp$ showed that sterilization and non-sterilization do not affect the growth of microorganisms for 96 hr. In the minimal broth, the growth of E. coli $DH5{\alpha}::gfp$ increased by 1 log CFU/g for 96 hr. In less than 50 percent of the strawberry extracts, the growth rate of E. coli $DH5{\alpha}::gfp$ was higher than in the control and increased by 4 and 5 log CFU/g at 50 and 25 percent of strawberry extracts, respectively. Therefore, E. coli $DH5{\alpha}::gfp$ can multiply and survive on the surface of strawberries when it comes into contact with the fruit extract.
