A Study on the Optimal Design of Automotive Cam Profiles using Hermite Curve (Hermite 곡선을 이용한 자동차 엔진 캠 형상의 최적 설계에 관한 연구)

  • A numerical method is proposed to optimize automotive cam profiles. An acceleration curve of a cam follower motion is described by Hermite spline curves. Because of the intrinsic characteristics of the Hermite curve, it is possible to design an acceleration curve with arbitrary shape. Design variables in the optimization problem are location of control points which define the acceleration curve. Objective function includes dynamic performances as well as kinematic properties of a valve train. Similar optimization procedure was also performed using Polydyne cam profile synthesis method. Optimized profiles using the Hermite curve are proved to be superior to those using the Polydyne method.

  • The purpose of this work is to support a solution of optimizing TMO (tone mapping operator). JPEG XT Profile A and C utilize Erik Reinhard TMO that works well in most cases, however, detailed information of a scene is lost in some cases. Reinhard TMO only calculates its coefficient to have tone-mapping curve from log-average luminance, and this lead to lose details of bright and dark area of scenes in turn. Thus, this paper proposes an enhancement of the default TMO for JPEG XT Profile C to optimize tone-mapping curve. Main idea is that we divide tone mapping curve into several ranges, and set reasonable parameters for each range. By the experimental results, the proposed scheme shows and obtains better performance within a dark scene, compared to the default Reinhard TMO.

  • There are many benefits such as increased areal density, reduced power consumption, applied smaller size and improved shock resistance in Load/Unload(L/UL) mechanism. It has been the key technology of developing small form factor hard disk drive used in portable digital devices. The main objectives of L/UL are no slider-disk contact and faster L/UL process. For realizing those, we must consider many design parameters in L/UL systems. In this paper, we focus on the effects of ramp profile. We can investigate dynamic characteristics of suspension tap and slider on ramp during unloading process experimentally. In special, we examine the effects of vortical velocities, ramp slopes and disk vibrations. As the result of these experiments, we propose design criteria of advanced ramp profile for good unloading performance.

  • This paper proposes the system to manage profiles effectively that are necessary for content adaptation services. The proposed profiles for providing content adaptation services are used in the various services. However, currently, there are lack of the interoperability in profiles due to the different configuration, which is affected by different services. The service providers also spend a lot of operating costs by operating profiles respectively. To solve theses problems, the system which can integrate and manage the various kinds of the profiles is necessary. Based on profile services architecture and the previous profile research to the necessary functions for the proposed integrated management system of profile are derived. The proposed integrated management system of profile supports also the functions such as receiving, processing, saying, managing, providing and supports profiles that are made of RDF form and comply with the CC/PP specification. The metadata constitution technique and dynamic technique for effective content adaptation also are applied. As a result of performance evaluation the proposed techniques improve the performance 4% compared with the previous techniques.

  • As becoming the age of ubiquitous, there are many discussion and publication for standards to express platform profile. These various platform profiles have some problems. The solve these problems, we propose and develop a new posting mechanism which improve the performance of contents adaptation engine by simplifying platform profile and processing various type of platform profiles; we introduce the way to integrate different profiles to solve nut to recognize the profile which is used by different adaptation system and simplify platform profile by grouping the similar attributes of platform profiles. Proposed system can processing different profiles and also the system overhead to processing a profile and creating a dynamic profile has reduced. As a result overall performance of content adaptation system has increased.

  • SRS was proposed for immediate processing of the meaning of sensor data on mobile devices independent from specific sensor networks and sensor type. However, each time new sensor data is received, sensor data inspection operations are performed repeatedly, and it cause resulting in low performance. App profile-based SRS has been proposed to resolve the problem. The app profile-based SRS has improved the SRS problem through the profile, but has been tested in a virtual simulation environment. After that the test was experimented in a real-time environment, but has not been tested with a variety of dynamic factors. Therefore, this paper experiment considering such as user mobility and sensor density in real-time environment. And this paper also evaluate performance of the App profile-based through analysis of the results of the experiment. As a result, app profile-based SRS is high influence by density and sensor type, and the number of sensor node is not influence.

  • This paper deals with dynamic analysis of linear switched reluctance motor considering electromagnetic characteristics. First, inductance profile of linear switched reluctance motor calculate at align and unalign position and phase resistance using analytical method. Analytical method of this paper used space harmonics method, also, analysis result compares with data that is derived through an finite element method, and proved validity. In dynamic simulation of linear switched reluctance, we analyzed dynamic characteristic of linear switched reluctance motor according to single pulse waveform and hard chopping voltage PWM.

  • When vehicle travelling along the track which has irregularity such as vertical profile, dynamic forces arise at the Wheel/Rail contact patch by wheel/rail interaction. In particular short wavelength irregularities on dipped joint and small stiffness of connecting rail bring about intense wheel/rail dynamic effects at higher speed. In the paper, a new model for dipped joint rail is developed to study dynamic behavior of track. A cusp behavior on dipped joint was defined by its amplitude and decay factor, which was presented by FRA track classes. The result of case study are presented, which show wheel rail contact force in each track classes, train operation speed and bending flexible rigidity ratio of fishplates which are connecting the rail.

  • This paper deals with dynamic characteristics of LSRM. Position choose mover of LSRM and inductance. When approved current in each phase by decided position, we made sure current and voltage according to turn-on, turn-off. In dynamic simulation of LSRM, through an experiment, we decided turn-on position of inductance profile. Also, we presented dynamic characteristic analysis model which is consisted at motor and sensor signal part, etc., and substitute circuit constant that get using magnetic equivalent circuit method, we confirmed current and voltage waveform.

  • This paper deals with an experimental study on the dynamic behaviour of rubber oil seals when the interferences between the shaft and the seal lip as well as the dynamic eccentricities are present. The micro-separation of the sealing gap was observed with the aid of an image processing apparatus. The temperature of the seal lip edge, friction torque and the dynamic sealing gap profile are experimentally investigated for the initial interference and the shaft eccentricity. The data was simultaneously measured under the operation conditions. Experimental results show that, as the shaft speed is increased, the leakage of sealed fluids is increasing for a certain range of shaft speeds. The test data indicates that the shaft eccentricity clearly produces the gap separation between the shaft and the seal lip which is unable to follow the radial displacement of shaft as the shaft speed increases.
