  • Dynamic analysis has been increased recently to analyze the effect of the blasting vibration on the rock mass as well as the surrounding structures. The major input parameter far the general dynamic analysis, however, is merely the blasting pressure which can be obtained from the blasting pressure-time history curves. But in case of the complicate geological condition it is not simple to apply the blasting pressure on the numerical analysis because e ground vibration characteristics should be obtained considering the complexity of ground condition. Therefore the authors tried to use the blasting vibration waveform as an input data This vinylation frequency could be obtained from the test blasting in the Pasir mine, Indonesia. Through the dynamic numerical analysis on the slopes in Pasir, the current situation of this slope could be simulated precisely.

  • Dynamic deflection monitoring is an essential and critical part of structural health monitoring for high-speed railway bridges. Two critical problems need to be addressed when using inclinometer sensors for such applications. These include constructing a general representation model of inclination-deflection and addressing the ill-posed inverse problem to obtain the accurate dynamic deflection. This paper provides a dynamic deflection monitoring method with the placement of optimal inclinometer sensors for high-speed railway bridges. The deflection shapes are reconstructed using the inclination-deflection transformation model based on the differential relationship between the inclination and displacement mode shape matrix. The proposed optimal sensor configuration can be used to select inclination-deflection transformation models that meet the required accuracy and stability from all possible sensor locations. In this study, the condition number and information entropy are employed to measure the ill-condition of the selected mode shape matrix and evaluate the prediction performance of different sensor configurations. The particle swarm optimization algorithm, genetic algorithm, and artificial fish swarm algorithm are used to optimize the sensor position placement. Numerical simulation and experimental validation results of a 5-span high-speed railway bridge show that the reconstructed deflection shapes agree well with those of the real bridge.

  • An assembly modeling system, with which a designer can interactively create an assembly of components ready for the dynamic analysis, has been developed. In this system, an assembly model is created from the mating conditions between the components in the assembly, and then most information required for the dynamic or kinematic analysis packages are derived. For this development, the following problems have been solved; the creation of assembly data structure, the derivation of the joint information, the inference of each component's position, and the creation of the joint coordinate systems. Through this work, the designer can easily model an assembly by assigning mating conditions, and check the dynamic or kinematic performance with the automatic creation of inputs for the assembly analysis packages.

  • In this paper, a new discrete integral static output feedback variable structure controller based on the a new integral dynamic-type sliding surface and output feedback discrete version of the disturbance observer is suggested for the control of uncertain linear systems. The reaching phase is completely removed by introducing a new proposed integral dynamic-type sliding surface. The output feedback discrete version of disturbance observer is presented for effective compensation of uncertainties and disturbance. A corresponding control with disturbance compensation is selected to guarantee the quasi sliding mode on the predetermined integral dynamic-type sliding surface for guaranteeing the designed output in the integral dynamic-type sliding surface from any initial condition for all the parameter variations and disturbances. Using discrete Lyapunov function, the closed loop stability and the existence condition of the quasi sliding mode is proved. Finally, an illustrative example is presented to show the effectiveness of the algorithm.

  • The proposed method in this paper. termed the substructural reanalysis technique, utilizes the computational merits of the component mode synthesis technique and of reanalysis technique for the design sensitivities of the dynamic characteristics of substructurally combined structure. It is shown that the dynamic characteristics of the entire structure can be obtained by synthesizing the substructural eigensolution and the characteristics of the eigensolution for the design variables of the modifiable substructure. In this paper , the characteristics of the eigenvalue problems obtained by this proposed method are compared to exact eigensolution in terms of accuracy and computational efficiency. and the advantage of this proposed method as compared to the direct application of the whole structure and experimental results is demonstrated through examples of numerical calculation for the dynamic characteristics (natural frequencies and mode shapes) of a flexible vibration of thin cylinderical shell with branch shell under 2-end fixed positions, boundary condition. Thin cylinderical shell of overall length 1280mm, external diameter 360mm, thickness 3mm with branch shell is made of mild steel. The load condition for dynamic response in this paper is impulsive load of which magnitude is 10kgf, which have short duration of 0.1 sec. and time interval applied to calculate. $\Delta$T is 1.0$\times$10 super(-4) seconds.

  • The purpose of this study is to design of a linear feeder using a multi body dynamic program, and to analyze a dynamic motion of the feeder that can transport small mechanical parts uniformly. In order to establish the analysis model of the linear feeder, each parts of the feeder are divided into two types which the rigid and flexible body. For the dynamic simulation, RecurDyn, which is a commercial multi-body dynamic package, is used. We also consider the design parameters for optimal dynamic motion such as centroid, stiffness, and mass of the feeder system. In order to analyze the dynamic motion of a linear feeder, the displacements of the feeder are measured by several accelerometers when it is in an operating condition. After the signal data from the accelerometers are captured in the time domain, the dynamic motion in the space is visualized by using graphic computer software.

  • Dynamic response of a laminated porous concrete beam reinforced by nanoparticles subjected to harmonic transverse dynamic load is investigated considering structural damping. The effective nanocomposite properties are evaluated on the basis of Mori-Tanaka model. The concrete beam is modeled by the sinusoidal shear deformation theory (SSDT). Utilizing nonlinear strains-deflection, energy relations and Hamilton's principal, the governing final equations of the concrete laminated beam are calculated. Utilizing differential quadrature method (DQM) as well as Newmark method, the dynamic displacement of the concrete laminated beam is discussed. The influences of porosity parameter, nanoparticles volume percent, agglomeration of nanoparticles, boundary condition, geometrical parameters of the concrete beam and harmonic transverse dynamic load are studied on the dynamic displacement of the laminated structure. Results indicated that enhancing the nanoparticles volume percent leads to decrease in the dynamic displacement about 63%. In addition, with considering porosity of the concrete, the dynamic displacement enhances about 2.8 time.

  • A decrease in the ability to maintain static and dynamic balance after stroke could be related to the inability to select reliable sensory information in producing relative motor action needed to maintain postural stability. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of two different types of surface conditions on the balancing ability of subjects with stroke. Eighteen hemiparetic subjects were assigned to an experimental and control group participating in a six-week rehabilitative therapeutic exercise program focusing on balance and mobility. Exercises were performed 3 to 5 times per week in a stable surface condition by the control group, and in an unstable surface condition by the experimental group. Pre- and post test assessments involved the measurement of the static balance and dynamic balance, respectively by 7-item Berg Balance Scale-3P and by Pro-3 Balance System. Results showed that under the unstable surface condition, static balance in the experimental group showed more improvement than that of the control group.(Statistically, not very significant.) All the aspects of dynamic balance and mediolateral sway(balance) improved significantly than those of the control group. However, there were no significant differences between two groups. Overall, it can be concluded that under the unstable surface condition, the rehabilitative therapeutic exercise programs are effective in improving the dynamic balance of stroke subjects. The results suggest that the adaptation of the unstable surface in the rehabilitative therapeutic exercises could be effective for the patients with hemiplegia in balance. Further studies are needed to confirm the effectiveness of the unstable surface on improving balance and postural stability of hemiplegics.
