  • In this paper, we propose a range subsequence matching under dynamic time warping (DTW) distance. We exploit Dual Match, which divides data sequences into disjoint windows and the query sequence into sliding windows. However, Dual Match is known to work under Euclidean distance. We argue that Euclidean distance is a fragile distance, and thus, DTW should be supported by Dual Match. For this purpose, we derive a new important theorem showing the correctness of our approach and provide a detailed algorithm using the theorem. Extensive experimental results show that our range subsequence matching performs much better than the sequential scan algorithm.

  • This paper considers an inbound ordering and outbound dispatching problem for multi-products and multi-vehicles in a third-party distribution center. The demands are dynamic over a discrete and finite time horizon, and replenishing orders are shipped in various transportation modes and the freight cost is proportional to the number of vehicles used. Any mixture of products is loaded onto any type of vehicles. The objective of the study is to simultaneously determine the inbound lot-sizes, the outbound dispatching sizes, and the types and numbers of vehicles used to minimize total costs, which consist of inventory holding cost and freight cost. Delivery time window is one of the general dispatching policies between a third-party distribution center and customers in practice. In the policy, each demand of product for a customer must be delivered within the time window without penalty cost. We derive mixed integer programming models for the dispatching policy with delivery time windows and on-time delivery dispatching policy, respectively and analyze the effect on a dispatching policy with delivery time windows by comparing with on-time delivery dispatching policy using various computational experiments.

  • Purpose: The window energy rating system was developed in early 1990's and various kind of rating system has been implemented in advanced country such as Europe, Australia, Canada and the US since 2000. In Korea, the Energy Consumption Efficiency Rating Indication System has been implemented to promote supply of high efficiency window since July 2012. Normally, the window energy rating system based on heat balance which considers both thermal losses and solar heat gain is used and applied only to residential buildings. However, the system used nationally only considers thermal losses and is applied to every building regardless of its usage. Therefore, in this study, we indicated problems of domestic window energy rating system and looked for improvements. Method: We analyzed thermal performance of various windows through dynamic simulation applied to detached house and compared results with those of domestic and foreign rating system. Result : Thermal performance of south windows is more affected by SHGC than U-value, and that of north windows is also affected by SHGC a lot. The difference between the results of our study and current system is statistically significant. As a result, appropriate evaluation criteria which considers solar heat gain is required.

  • A moving window technique for detecting a lane and obstacles using the Images captured by a CCD camera attached in an automobile, is proposed in this paper To process the dynamic images in real time, there could be many constraints on the hardware To overcome these hardware constraints and to detect the lane and obstacles in real time, the optimal size of window IS determined based upon road conditions and automobile states. By utilizing the sub-Images inside the windows, detection of the lane and obstacles become possible m real time. For each Image frame, the moving windows are re-determined following the predicted directions based on Kalman filtering theory to Improve detection accuracy, as well as efficiency The feasibility of proposed algorithm IS demonstrated through the simulated experiments of highway driving.

  • We propose a new technique to design an unmaned integrating control system based-on Windows XP version off-Line Programming System which can simulate a dynamic model of robot manipulator in three dimensions graphics space in this paper. The robot with 4 and 6 axes modeled SM5 and AM1 respectively were adopted as an objective model. Forward kinematics, inverse kinematics and robot dynamics modeling were included in the developed off-line program. The interface between users and the off$.$line programming system in the Windows XP's graphic user interface environment was also studied. The developing language is Microsoft Visual C++. Graphic libraries, OpenGL, by silicon Graphics, Inc. were utilized for three dimensions graphics.

  • Due to the large window area, the lighting environment of the educational space between the window and deep part of the room is not uniformly illuminated, and the phenomenon of glare is severe. For this reason, the daylight performance of DSC-BIPV windows was analyzed in order to improve the natural lighting in the educational sector. The method derives the correlation with natural lighting by measurement and simulation. Dynamic simulation confirmed that the average illuminance of the target space was higher at later than the early afternoon. The performance of natural lighting at 40% and 30% transmission of DSC has the effect of significantly reducing the amount of excess light in existing windows. Nevertheless, the actual average illuminance in all seasons corresponds to the standard illuminance of the educational facility, 300 Lux. In addition, the uniformity is also seen through the skylight illuminance ratio.

  • Linear dynamic simulations with one and two degrees of freedom were built from SIMULINK in MATLAB commercial program. Before starting the simulations, initial conditions and system parameters which are mass, spring constant and coefficient of damping are easily inputted by user through each pop-up window, and the conditions for the simulation including time step, analysis methodology and so on can be modified with ease. Also, as soon as the simulations are started, the windows for animations which shows deformed motions dynamically with real time are popped-up and the graphical results are shown in time and frequency domains, simultaneously, The results of the simulations were verified through some examples of textbooks of mechanical vibrations. It was found that the programs would help us to solve any kind of linear dynamic simulation for one and two degrees of freedom.

  • Multiple sequence alignment is a useful tool to identify the relationships among protein sequences. Dynamic programming is the most widely used algorithm to obtain multiple sequence alignment with optimal cost. However dynamic programming cannot be applied to certain cost function due its drawback and to produce optimal multiple sequence alignment. We proposed sub-alignment refinement algorithm to overcome the problem of dynamic programming and impelmented this algorithm as a module of our MS Windows-based sequence alignment program.
