We propose a new Interet time synchronization model using danamic linear model and introduce the characteristics of internet transmission delays. SNTP(Simple Network Time Protocol) has been widely used as a time synchronization method on the Internet. While SNTP provides a very simple usage, SNTP may not provide the stable services, since SNTP does not consider the several essential error factors. In order to overcome the instabitily of SNTP, we analyze the process of time estimation of SNTP and find the difference between forward transmission delay and backward transmission delay operates the main error on the estimation of an time offset.

A dynamic model of railway reducer is developed by the lumped parameter method. The model accounts for shafts, bearings flexibilities, gyroscopic effects and the force couplings among the transverse and torsion motions due to gearing. Vibration/noise analysis as well as strength of gear teeth, and bearing life are considered. Excitation forces of railway reduction are considered as the mass unbalance of the rotors, misalignment and a function of gear transmission error which comes from the modified tooth surface. A campbell diagram, in which the excitation sources caused by the mass unbalance of the rotors, misalignment and the transmitted errors of the gearing are considered, shows that, at the operating speed, there are not the critical speed. The program which can be used to analyze and predict vibration/noise characteristics by mass unbalance, misalignment and gear transmission error of railway reduction is developed with this system model.

The timing chain system, which is a typical power transmission technology applied to a vehicle, has been widely used by the automotive industry because it is normally designed to last a car's lifetime. However, the timing chain system may cause some problems due to the shape of the chains and the polygonal behavior on contact between the chain and the sprocket. In addition, noise and vibration caused by transmission error are the most typical problems encountered by major automotive manufacturers and they are considered as the main source of customer complaint. The initial tension of the chain-sprocket system is thought to be the main cause of transmission error, and it is regarded as the source of engine vibration and noise. The initial tension of the chain system should be controlled carefully since a low initial tension can cause twisting, which may lead to a system malfunction, while a high initial tension can reduce the service life due to a worn down contact surface. In this paper, the kinematic analysis model is generated with various initial tensions, which are controlled by changing the shape of the fixed guide with the largest contact surface with chain. The results showed that the transmission error was minimized on a particular range of initial tension, and the tendency showed that the error changed with a higher sensitivity at a lower initial tension.

A dynamic model of turbo air compressor having multi-helical gear pairs is developed by transfer matrix method. The model accounts for the shaft and bearing flexibilities, gyroscopic effects and the force couplings among the transverse, torsion, and axial motions due to gearing. The program which can be used to analyze and predict the vibrational characteristics by the mass unbalance of the rotors and gear transmission error of turbo compressor is developed with this system model We expect this developed program to contribute the reduction of the vibration/noise on turbo compressor in the field of both design and manufacturing and can be used as a basic sub-program for CAD/CAM of low-noised gear teeth also.

In this study, a robust controller to control pressure in a pneumatic pressure vessel with a long transmission line is proposed. Frequency response of transmission line using compressible fluid is changed by the flowing state of the fluid. So, it a fixed gain controller designed based on a model supposed the flowing state to a specific state, the performance of the control system could be degraded because of the modelling error. The controller designed in this study is composed of two parts. One is a feedback controller to improve a feedback characteristics and to compensate the influence of the variation of transfer characteristics of a transmission line owing to the change of flowing state and the other is a feedforward controller to regulate command fallowing performance. The experimental results with the designed controller show that the robustness of the control system is achieved regardless of the change of the model or the transmission line. Therefore, the designed controller can be utilized for the Performance improvement of a Pressure control system with a long transmission line using compressible fluid.

Main sources of the nitration of a gear-pair system are backlash and transmission error, the difference between required and actual rotation during gear meshing. This paper presents the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of gear motions due to the existence of backlash and periodic variation of meshing stiffness, which is assumed as a one-term harmonic component. Gear motions are classified as three types with the consideration of backlash. Each response is calculated using the harmonic balance method and confirmed by numerical integration. The responses with the increase of the rotating speed show abrupt changes in its magnitude for the variation of the preload, exciting force, and damping coefficient. The result also shows that there is a chaotic motion with some specific design parameters and operating conditions In gear diving system. Consequently the design of gear driving system with low nitration and noise requires the study on the effects of nonlinear dynamic characteristics due to stiffness variation and backlash.

The Rotating transmission is made up of belts, mass disks and gears. This transmission is controlled electro-mechanically by the motor and operation program. The control strategy of the system can be to change belts' stiffness and the masses of mass disk and gear. This system can be modeled as a rigid body, and also finds broad application in such diverse fields as machine tools, the cruise control system In automobiles, and control in the attitude and gimbals of spacecraft. This Transmission proves the necessity and effect of a closed loop control. The study of the Rotating Transmission excited by its base motion is able not only to predict the rotational performance, but to obtain the fundamental data for vibration isolation. In this research, we compared the response characteristics of the two controllers by means of the experiments on PD controller and PID controller added on integral action. Furthermore, we studied the response abilities such as steady state error, overshoot, and ect. and the response velocities such as rising time, settling time, and ect. in the rotating transmission.
The objective of this paper is the development of the forward-looking dynamic simulation model of a hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) for a fuel economy study. The specification of the vehicle is determined based on two factors, engine peak power to curb weight ratio and specific engine power. The steady state efficiency models of the powertrain components are explained in detail. These include a spark ignition direct injection(SIDI) engine, an integrated starter alternator(ISA), and an infinitely variable transmission(IVT). The paper describes the integration of these models into a forward facing dynamic simulation diagram using the AMESim environment. Appropriate vehicle and driver models have been added and described. The controller was designed in Simulink and was combined with the physical powertrain model by the co-simulation interface. Finally, the simulation results of the HEV are compared with those of a baseline vehicle in order to demonstrate the fuel economy potential. Results for the vehicle speed error and the fuel economy over standard driving cycles are illustrated.

Since Bianchi's 2-D Markov Chain Model considers collision problem only in ideal channel condition, it does not reflect real channel impaired by fading, interference, and noise. Distributed Coordination Function(DCF) doubles its contention window(CW) when transmission fails regardless of collision or transmission error. Increase of CW caused by transmission error degrade throughput and increase the delay. In this paper, we present quantitative analysis of the impact of the parameters such as contention window size(CW), transmission probability for a given time slot(${\Im}$), transmission failure probability($p_f$), on the system performance and provide a method how to decrease the initial CW to achieve equivalent performance.
The authors have proposed methods (lead crowning and profile modification) for modifying the geometry of spur gears and investigated the contact pattern as well as the transmission errors to recommend the appropriate amount of modification. Based on the investigation, dynamic load of the modified spur gear drive has been calculated, which is helpful to predict the life of the designed gear drive. Computer programs for simulation of meshing, contact and dynamics of the modified spur gears have been developed. The developed theory is illustrated with numerical examples.
