We report the label-free biomolecules detection based on nanomechanical micro cantilevers operated in dynamic mode for detection of two marker proteins (myoglobin and creatin kinase-MB (CK-MB)) of acute myocardical infarctions. When the specific binding between the antigen and its antibody occurred on the fuctionalized microcantilever surface, mechanical response (i.e. resonant frequency) of microcantilevers was changed in lower frequency range. We performed the label-free biomolecules detection of myoglobin and CK-MB antigen in the low concentration (clinical threshold concentration range) as much as 1 ng/ml from measuring the dynamic response change of micro cantilevers caused by the intermolecular force. Moreover, we estimate the surface stress on the dynamic microcantilevers generated by specific antibody-antigen binding. It is suggested that our dynamic microcantilevers may enable one to use the sensitive label-free biomolecules detection for application to the disease diagnosis system based on mechanical immuno-sensor.

In this paper, effects of thermoelastic stress by using lock-in thermography was measured in the cantilever beam. In experiment, a circular holed plate was applied to analyze variation of transient stress under the condition of repeated cyclic loading. And the finite element modal analysis as computational work was performed. According to the surface temperature obtained from infrared thermography, the stress of the nearby hole was predicted based on thermoelastic equation. As results, each stress distributions between 2nd and 3rd vibration mode were qualitatively and quantitatively investigated, respectively. Also, dynamic stress concentration factors according to the change of vibration amplitude were estimated for the resonance frequency.

The aim of present paper is to investigate the dynamic strength characteristics of LNG cargo containment system under sloshing impact loads numerically. The dynamic stress transmission mechanism under the impact load was analyzed based on the dynamic Finite Element Analysis. Based on the insights obtained from the numerical studies, the characteristics of internal stress distribution and stress concentration have been reported. The material option including anisotropic material features required for the commercial FEA code application were suggested based on the comparison with the experimental results.
Rheological properties of sweet potato starch (SPS)-glucose composites (5%, w/w) at different concentrations (0, 10, 20, and 30%, w/w) of glucose were investigated in steady and dynamic shear. The steady shear rheological properties of SPS-glucose composites were determined from rheological parameters for power law and Casson flow models. At $25^{\circ}C$ all the samples showed a pronounced shear-thinning behaviors (n=0.29-0.37) with high Casson yield stress. In general, the presence of glucose resulted in the decrease in consistence index (K), apparent viscosity (${\eta}_{a,100}$), and yield stress (${\sigma}_{oc}$). Storage (G') and loss (G") moduli increased with an increase in frequency ($\omega$), while complex viscosity (${\eta}*$) decreased. Dynamic moduli (G', G", and ${\eta}*$) of the SPS-glucose composites at higher glucose concentrations (20 and 30%) were higher than those of the control (0% glucose) and also increased with increasing glucose concentration from 10 to 30%. The effect of glucose on steady and dynamic shear rheological properties of the SPS pastes appears to greatly depend on glucose concentration in the range of 10-30%.
An understanding of the influence of MR (Magmatic Rock) thickness on the surrounding rock behaviors is essential for the prevention and management of dynamic disasters in coal mining. In this study, we used FLC3D to study the breaking and instability laws of surrounding rock with different MR thicknesses in terms of strata movement, stress and energy. The mechanism of dynamic disasters was revealed. The results show that the thicker the MR is, (1) the smaller the subsidence of the overlying strata is, but the subsidence span of the overlying strata become wider, and the corresponding displacement deformation value of the basin edge become smaller. (2) the slower the growth rate of abutment pressure in front of the working face is, but the peak value is smaller, and the influence range is larger. The peak value decreases rapidly after the breaking, and the stress concentration coefficient is maintained at about 1.31. (3) the slower the peak energy in front of coal wall, but the range of energy concentration increases (isoline "O" type energy circle). Finally, a case study was conducted to verify the disaster-causing mechanism. We anticipate that the research findings presented herein can assist in the control of dynamic hazards.

The dynamic photoelastic technique had been utilized to investigate the possibillity of relieving the large local singular stresses induced at the corner of a right- angle- indenter. The indenter compressed a semi-infinite body dynamically with an impact load applied on the top of the indenter. The effects of the geometric changes of the indenter in terms of the diameter (d) and the location (1) of the stress relieving notch on the behavior of the dynamic contact stresses were investigated. The influence of stress relieving notches positioned along the edge of the semi-infinite body on the dynamic contact stresses were also studied by changing the diameter (D) and the location (L) of the notch. A multi-speak-high speed camera with twelve sparks were used to take photographs of full field dynamic isochromatic fringe patterns. The contact singular stresses were found to be released significantly by the stress relief notches both along the indenter and the edge of the semi-infinite body. The optimal position and geometry of the stress relieving notches were obtained with the aid of limited experimental results.

This investigation is the result of a structural analysis by the finite element method and static loading test for the optimal structural design of an electric railway vehicle made of stainless 301L materials. We analyzed the stress and displacement of the existing electric car-body structure for predicting the position of concentrated stress, the flow of stress, rigidity to be occurred in the car-body structure when it is subjected to the vertical load. It was exposed that the side sills and window corners around the bolsters are the weak parts of the electric car-body structure because the bolsters of the electric car-body structure were subjected to the vertical load and dynamic load to be occurred during running. The flow of stress and the cause of stress concentration in the weak zone were studied in order to prevent the concentration of stress and buckling. The rearrangement of the structure and the selection of the beam elements were also carried out for optimum design of the structure.
In this study, the fracture phenomena of optical disks are discussed by theoretical and experimental approaches and then some recommendations are presented to prevent the fracture. Linear equations of motion are discretized by using the Galerkin approximation. From the discretized equations, the dynamic responses are computed by the generalized- time integration method. As a fracture criterion for optical disks, the critical crack length is presented. From experimental methods, the fracture procedure is analyzed. The fracture occurs when disks have crack on the inner radius of the disks. Since the crack growth and the fracture result from the stress concentration on the tip of the crack, a measure should be taken to overcome the stress concentration. This problem can be resolved by the structural modification of a disk. This study proposes 3 types of improved optical disks.
The long-term success of any dental implant is dependent upon the optimization of stresses which occur during oral function and parafunction. Especially, it has been suggested that there is an unique set of problems associated with joining an osseointegrated implant and a natural tooth with a fixed partial denture. For this particular case, although many literatures suggest different ways to avoid high stress concentrations on the bone surrounding the implant under static and dynamic loading conditions, but few studies on the biomechanical efficacy of each assertion have been reported. The purpose of this investigation was to evaluate the efficacies of clinically suggested methods on stress distribution under static load and shock absorption under dynamic load, using two dimensional finite element method. In FEM models of osseointegrated implant-natural tooth supported fixed partial dentures, calculations were made on the stresses in surrounding bone and on the deflections of abutments and superstructure, first, to compare the difference in stress distribution effects under static load by the flexure of fastening screw or prosthesis, or intramobile connector, and second, to compare the difference in the shock absorption effects under dynamic load by intramobile connector or occlusal veneering with composite resin. The results of this analysis suggest that : 1. Under static load condition, using an implant design with fastenign screw connecting implant abutment and prosthesis or increasing the flexibility of fastening screw, or increasing the flexibility of prosthesis led to the .increase in height of peak stresses in cortical bone surrounding the implant, and has little effect on stress change in bone around the natural tooth. 2. Under static load condition, intramobile connector caused the substantial decrease in stress concentration in cortical bone surrounding the implant and the slight increase in stress in bone around the natural tooth. 3. Under dynamic load condition, both intramobile connector and composite resin veneering showed shock absorption effect on bone surrounding the implant and composite resin veneering had a greater shock absorption effect than intramobile connector.
The effects of moisture content on non-fracture dynamic properties and fracture gel quality of Pacific whiting surimi were investigated to determine their relationships. Surimi samples were tested at various moisture contents (75, 78, and 81 %). Torsion test showed that shear stress decreased rapidly and strain values decreased gradually as moisture concentration increased. Dynamic storage modulus (G') also decreased as moisture content increased. A strong positive correlation ($R^2=0.90$ to 0.99) was found between the G' measured at temperatures between 10 and $45^{\circ}C$ and fracture stress values. The results indicate that dynamic rheological measurements could be used as a tool for early gel quality assessment.
