Development of Abrasive Film Polishing System for Cover-Glass Edge using Multi-Body Dynamics Analysis (다물체 동역학 해석을 이용한 커버글라스 Edge 연마용 Abrasive Film Polishing 시스템 개발)

  • In recently, the demand of cover-glass is increased because smart phone, tablet pc, and electrical device has become widely used. The display of mobile device is enlarged, so it is necessary to have a high strength against the external force such as contact or falling. In fabrication process of cover-glass, a grinding process is very important process to obtain high strength of glass. Conventional grinding process using a grinding wheel is caused such as a scratch, chipping, notch, and micro-crack on a surface. In this paper, polishing system using a abrasive film was developed for a grinding of mobile cover-glass. To evaluate structural stability of the designed system, finite element model of the polishing system is generated, and multi-body dynamic analysis of abrasive film polishing machine is proposed. As a result of the analysis, stress and displacement analysis of abrasive film polishing system are performed, and using laser displacement sensor, structural stability of abrasive film polishing system is confirmed by measuring displacement.

Analytical and Experimental Study on the Quality Stability of Multi Roll Forming Process (멀티 롤 포밍 공정의 품질 안정성에 대한 해석 및 실험적 연구)

  • It is faced with the necessity of multi roll forming process of the ball slide rail which is made by adding the separate manufacturing processes, piercing, bending, trimming, to the roll forming process of a continuous plastic deformation, to improve the quality. However, the vibration and noise of the press machine in this process leads to the quality degradation of slide rail manufactured in this process. In this study, the roll was designed considering the optimal strain rates by the roll forming program with finite element method. And to estimate the static stability of the multi process the Von-Mises stress and deformation on the press was calculated with a structural analysis program. Also, to avoid driving systems in the resonance region their natural frequencies in the 1st and 2nd mode were calculated through the modal analysis. To verify its dynamic stability improvement the magnitudes of noise and vibration in the existing and studied system were compared using a microphone and accelerometers. And the widths and surface roughnesses of the rails which had been produced in the existing and studied process were measured. Therefore, it is known that multi roll forming process is stable in the analytical and experimental study.

  • This study was done to determine the relationship between the anxiety levels of hospitalized psychiatric patients and various influencing variables. The purpose of this study was to determine factors that may help hospitalized psychiatric patients to experience lower levels of anxiety in relation to changing situations and provide the basic data for a dynamic approach which is important in the field of modern psychiatric nursing that understands and analyses the meaning of patients behavior. The anxiety may produce stress, which is a common experience among all human beings. Patients may merely feel uncomfortable in the state of mild anxiety, however, the severe state could be an obstacle to treatment and recovery from disease. The anxiety of the psychiatric patient is a factor which greatly influencing the patient's behavior, so his disorderd behavior is an expression of defence or pathologically fixed behavior. According the psychiatric patient's anxiety at the time of admission is the concern of the health team. The nurse's special concern has to do with understanding and supporting the patient and meeting his individual needs by frequent close contact during the entire hospitalization period, compared to other teamembers the nurse's responsibility in this regard is greated. So this study emphasizes the necessity of creating conditions these, but above all the psychiatric nurse should create a therapeutic environment by not only regarding the patient's behavior or symptoms but understanding the meaning of them. The subjects of this study were 57 psychiatric patients selected from the K neuropsychiatric hospital located in Kunsan city. Data were collected twice from the same patients within a 24 hour period after admission and 10 days after admission. (September 18th to November 8th, 1980). The data collected method was through direct interview, and the interview time was 20 minutes for each patient. Data analysis included Item Analysis & Internal Consistency Reliability Tests, Percentages, t-test, analysis of variance and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The findings of this study were as follows. A. Test of Hypothesis a. Hypothesis 1 :“The anxiety level of psychiatric patients within 24 hours after admission will be higher than those of the same patients 10 days after admission,”was accepted.   • Heavy storms rainfall has caused many landslides and slope failures especially in the mountainous area of the world. Landslides and slope failures are common geologic hazards and posed serious threats and globally cause billions in monetary losses and thousands of casualies each year so that studies on slope stability and its failure mechanism under rainfall are being increasing attention of these days. Rainfall-induced slope failures are generally caused by the rise in ground water level, and increase in pore water pressures and seepage forces during periods of intense rainfall. The effective stress in the soil will be decreased due to the increased pore pressure, which thus reduces the soil shear strength, eventually resulting in slope failure. During the rainfall, a wetting front goes downward into the slope, resulting in a gradual increase of the water content and a decrease of the negative pore-water pressure. This negative pore-water pressure is referred to as matric suction when referenced to the pore air pressure that contributes to the stability of unsaturated soil slopes. Therefore, the importance is the study of saturated unsaturated soil behaviors in evaluation of slope stability under heavy rainfall condition. In an actual field, a series of failures may occur in a slope due to a rainfall event. So, this study attempts to develop a numerical model to investigate this failure mechanism. A two-dimensional seepage flow model coupled with a one-dimensional surface flow and erosion/deposition model is used for seepage analysis. It is necessary to identify either there is surface runoff produced or not in a soil slope during a rainfall event, while analyzing the seepage and stability of such slopes. Runoff produced by rainfall may result erosion/deposition process on the surface of the slope. The depth of runoff has vital role in the seepage process within the soil domain so that surface flow and erosion/deposition model computes the surface water head of the runoff produced by the rainfall, and erosion/deposition on the surface of the model slope. Pore water pressure and moisture content data obtained by the seepage flow model are then used to analyze the stability of the slope. Spencer method of slope stability analysis is incorporated into dynamic programming to locate the critical slip surface of a general slope.

Verification of the Numerical Analysis on Caisson Quay Wall Behavior Under Seismic Loading Using Centrifuge Test (원심모형시험을 이용한 케이슨 안벽의 지진시 거동에 대한 수치해석 검증)

  • In this study, verification of the nonlinear effective stress analysis is performed for introducing performance based earthquake resistance design of port and harbor structures. Seismic response of gravitational caisson quay wall in numerical analysis is compared directly with dynamic centrifuge test results in prototype scale. Inside of the rigid box, model of the gravitational quay wall is placed above the saturated sand layer which can show the increase of excess pore water pressure. The model represents caisson quay wall with a height of 10 m, width of 6 m under centrifugal acceleration of 60 g. The numerical model is made in the same dimension with the prototype scale of the test in two dimensional plane strain condition. Byrne's liquefaction model is adopted together with a nonlinear constitutive model. Interface element is used for sliding and tensional separation between quay wall and the adjacent soils. Verification results show good agreement for permanent displacement of the quay wall, horizontal acceleration at quay wall and soil layer, and excess pore water pressure increment beneath the quay wall foundation.

A STRAIN GAUGE ANALYSIS OF IMPLANT-SUPPORTED CANTILEVERED FIXED PROSTHESIS UNDER DISTAL STATIC LOAD

  • Statement of problem. Unreasonable distal cantilevered implant-supported prosthesis can mask functional problems of reconstruction temporarily, but it can cause serious strain and stress around its supported implant and surrounding alveolar bone. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to evaluate strain of implants supporting distal cantilevered fixed prosthesis with two different cantilevered length under distal cantilevered static load. Material and methods. A partially edentulous mandibular test model was fabricated with auto-polymerizing resin (POLYUROCK; Metalor technologies, Stuttgart, Swiss) and artificial denture teeth (Endura; Shofu inc., Kyoto, Japan). Two implants-supported 5-unit screw-retained cantilevered fixed prosthesis was made using standard methods with Type III gold alloy (Harmony C&B55; Ivoclar-vivadent, Liechtenstein, Germany) for superstructure and reinforced hard resin (Tescera; Ivoclar-vivadent, Liechtenstein, Germany) for occlusal material. Two strain gauges (KFG-1-120-C1-11L1M2R; KYOWA electronic instruments, Tokyo, Japan) were then attached to the mesial and the distal surface of each standard abutment with adhesive (M-bond 200; Tokuyama, Tokyo, Japan). Total four strain gauges were attached to test model and connected to dynamic signal conditioning strain amplifier (CTA1000; Curiotech inc., Paju, Korea). The stepped $20{\sim}100$ N in 25 N increments, cantilevered static load 8mm apart (Group I) or 16mm apart (Group II), were applied using digital push-pull gauge (Push-Pull Scale & Digital Force Gauge, Axis inc., Seoul, Korea). Each step was performed ten times and every strain signal was monitored and recorded. Results. In case of Group I, the strain values were surveyed by $80.7{\sim}353.8{\mu}m$ in Ch1, $7.5{\sim}47.9{\mu}m/m$ in Ch2, $45.7{\sim}278.6{\mu}m/m$ in Ch3 and $-212.2{\sim}718.7{\mu}m/m$ in Ch4 depending on increasing cantilevered static load. On the other hand, the strain values of Group II were surveyed by $149.9{\sim}612.8{\mu}m/m$ in Ch1, $26.0{\sim}168.5{\mu}m/m$ in Ch2, $114.3{\sim}632.3{\mu}m/m$ in Ch3, and $-323.2{\sim}-894.7{\mu}m/m$ in Ch4. Conclusion. A comparative statistical analysis using paired sample t-test about Group I Vs Group II under distal cantilevered load shows that there are statistical significant differences for all 4 channels (P<0.05).

  • In this paper I tried to find out changed and improved streetscape through the simulation using components of streetscape abstracted by factor analysis after analyzing present situation and problems of the streetscape for housing developments prepared on publis water surface. An analysis object is located in Haeundae Marine City in Busan. As a result of analysing the streetscape of marine city at present, I could see that main problems were discontinuous street space that did not reflect the characteristic of seashore, uncomfortable and insecure passage owing to coexistence street at seashore, insufficient street facilities for pedestrians, and disordered outdoor signboards. Therefore, I put the causal problems of marine city's streetscape in the insufficient street components, disharmony, and discontinuity so analysed the simulation elements applying selected street components and evaluated them to deduce demand factors having common meaning. As the result, the common demand factors were 'street furniture', 'harmonious streetscape with surrounding', 'landscape with natural openness', and 'landscape with dynamic symbol' in the order. So it needs to stress on a plan for proper arrangement of 'street facilities' and symbolic streetscape having continuity and harmony with surrounding so that the plan can proceed more properly for marine city's identity.

Physicochemical, structural, pasting, and rheological properties of potato starch isolated from different cultivars (품종별 감자전분의 이화학적, 구조적, 페이스팅 및 유변학적 특성)

  • The objective of this research was to elucidate the physicochemical, structural, pasting and rheological properties of potato starch isolated from a foreign potato cultivar ('Atlantic') and new domestic potato cultivars ('Goun', 'Sebong', and 'Jinsun'). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and one-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance (1D NMR) showed that the structural properties of potato starch did not vary significantly with cultivars. RVA analysis demonstrated that the 'Atlantic' starch had the highest breakdown viscosity among all potato starches. In steady shear rheological analysis, all potato starch dispersions showed shear-thinning behaviors (n =0.63-0.72) at $25^{\circ}C$. The highest apparent viscosity (${\eta}_{a,5}$), consistency index (K), and yield stress (${\sigma}_{oc}$) were observed in the 'Goun' starch dispersion. In dynamic shear rheological analysis, storage modulus (G') and loss modulus (G") values of new domestic potato starch dispersions were higher than those of the 'Atlantic' starch dispersion.

Dynamic Behavior of Caisson Type Breakwater Considering Typhoon-induced Wave Loading Before and After Earthquakes (태풍 파랑과 지진을 연계한 케이슨식 방파제의 동적거동)

  • Recently, the frequency and intensity of typhoon-induced wave loading are increasing due to changed marine environments such as climate change. In addition, frequent earthquakes are causing a lot of damage around the world, including in Japan, Chile, Haiti, China, and Indonesia. In Korea, damage from typhoons has also been increasing since the 2000s, and the frequency and intensity of earthquakes are also increasing. Korea is surrounded by sea on three sides, so typhoons can cause a lot of damage to coastal structures, and earthquakes also cause a lot of damage to coastal structures. As such, the frequency and intensity of typhoon-induced wave loading and earthquakes are increasing both domestically and internationally, but there is no research linking typhoons and earthquakes. Therefore, in this study, numerical analysis was performed for a total of four cases by linking typhoon waves and earthquakes to the caisson breakwater. Numerical analysis was performed by applying wave loads in Case 1 and seismic wave in Case 2, seismic wave after wave loads in Case 3, and wave loads after seismic wave in Case 4. As a result of the numerical analysis, it was confirmed that in Case 3 and Case 4, which linked a typhoon and earthquakes, the damage caused by each load increased compared to Case 1 and Case 2 because the load was applied while the existing ground strength was reduced. In addition, it was confirmed that the greatest damage occurred in Case 3, in which seismic wave were applied after the wave loads.

The Concept Analysis of Hope : Among Cancer Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy (희망의 개념 분석 -항암화학요법을 받는 암환자를 대상으로-)

  • The main objectives of this study were to analyze the concept of hope, so to provide basic data to develop a valid instrument to measure hope, and to develop hope enhancing nursing intervention a program for cancer patients. The hybrid model approach was applied in three phases, the theoretical phase, the empirical phase, and the analytic phase. The study was developed on universal attributes explaining generalized hope and specific hope, which were revealed in a comprehensive review of the literature. In the empirical phase, eight cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy were interviewed to reveal causes, motivation, and their resource of hope according to The Hope Assessment Guide (Farren, Herth, & Popovich, 1995). In the analytical phase, the results of the two previous stages of the study were compared. The results were as follows : In the theoretical phase, six dimensions of hope emerged; affective, cognitive, behavioral, affiliative, temporal and contextual dimension. The antecedent of hope was loss, crisis, uncertainity, and stress. The consequences were renewal, development of new methods, safety, peace and transcendental competence. In the empirical phase, these six dimensions emerged as theoretical phases were verified and specified as these descriptive terms: feeling, intention, expectation, activity, relation, future- orientation, reality and goal-setting. The antecedent factor of hope was occurrence or recurrence of cancer. The consequence of hope was ability to cope with real condition, feeling of safety and comfort, peace, development of new strategy and recovery of disease. The major content of hope in this phase was related to specific hope, but it was also influenced on by general hope. In the analytic phase, general and specific hope was renamed as trait and state hope. All attributes emerged at the empirical phases, and also emerged at the theoretical phase. However, cognitive and contextual dimensions were revised and specified. In conclusion, the concept of hope is divided into trait hope and state hope, and state hope is an anticipatory expectation that occurs at the time of a stressful stimulus, such as being diagnosed with cancer. Hope is a multidimensional dynamic energized mental state which has the dimensions of affective, cognitive, behavioral, affiliative, temporal and contextual. There should be further studies to develope the state and trait hope scale according to definition and attributes of hope investigated in this study. In addition, considering results of the empirical phase, the family is very a important factor as a resource of hope, so it is necessary to consider family in implementing a nursing intervention program to enhance hope.
