  • This study proposes a method to evaluate the performance of a detector by analyzing the dynamic step wedge and histogram according to the change of the tube voltage and sensitivity when using the Automatic Exposure Control (AEC). The performance of a detector was evaluated by measuring X-ray quality, Entrance Surface Dose (ESD), tube current, dynamic range corresponding to detector sensitivities of S200, S400, S800, S1000 per tube voltage of 60, 70, 81, 90 kVp. As a results, all of the qualities satisfied the acceptance criteria, and the Entrance Surface Dose and tube current were decreased stage by stage as sensitivity was set higher. In the dynamic step wedge, the observable dynamic range has also increased as tube voltage became higher. The histogram showed the quantization separation phenomena as the tube voltage was set higher. The higher the sensitivity, the more the underflow and overflow occurred in which the amount of information on both ends of the histogram was lost. In conclusion, the deterioration in the performance of the detector was found to be insufficient to realize the change of the tube voltage and sensitivity when using the Automatic Exposure Control, and it is useful to use dynamic step wedge and histogram in evaluating detector performance evaluation.

  • In this study, we propose a machine vision system with a high object recognition rate. By utilizing a multiple-exposure image sensing technique, the proposed deep learning-based machine vision system can cover a wide light intensity range without further learning processes on the various light intensity range. If the proposed machine vision system fails to recognize object features, the system operates in a multiple-exposure sensing mode and detects the target object that is blocked in the near dark or bright region. Furthermore, short- and long-exposure images from the multiple-exposure sensing mode are synthesized to obtain accurate object feature information. That results in the generation of a wide dynamic range of image information. Even with the object recognition resources for the deep learning process with a light intensity range of only 23 dB, the prototype machine vision system with the multiple-exposure imaging method demonstrated an object recognition performance with a light intensity range of up to 96 dB.

  • Korean High Speed Train (KHST) has been tested on high speed line in JungBu site since it was developed in 2002. The KHST figured 7 cars was modeled for dynamic simulation with Vampire program. and the data acquisition system was used to test successfully the on-line test for proving the dynamic performance of KHST. The comparison between test and simulation results for dynamic behavior of KHST was tried in this paper and it was very difficult because the environmental conditions and running conditions have an effect on the test results and these conditions are unable to be modeled for dynamic analysis. Also the parameters for data acquisition system for test are usually not same to simulation conditions. Therefor, in this paper the acceleration data after filtering with low pass filter below 1Hz were used to compare between test and simulation results because the low frequency range is useful to evaluate the dynamic performance for railway vehicle system, so as steady state curving acceleration. The results show that both are similar in low frequency range.

  • The dynamic softening behavior of type 430 ferritic stainless steel could be characterized by the hot torsion test in the temperature range of 900-110$0^{\circ}C$ and the strain rate range of 0.05-5/sec. It is found that the continuous dynamic recrystallization (CDRX) was a major dynamic softening mechanism. The effects of process variables strain ($\varepsilon$) stain rate($\varepsilon$)and temperature (T) on CDRX could be individually established from the analysis of flow stress curves and microstructure. The effect of CDRX individually established from the analysis of flow stress curves and microstructure. The effect of CDRX increased with increasing strain rate and decreasing temperature in continuous deformation. The multipass deformation processes were performed with 10 pass deformations. The CDRX effect occurred in multipass deformatioon. The grain refinement could be achieved from multipass deformation The grain refinement increased with increasing strain rate and decreasing temperature. Also the CDRX in multipass deformation was affected by interpass time and pass strain. The total strain was to be found key parameter to occur CDRX.

  • In this paper, we propose the miniaturization size of wearable Range of Motion(ROM) and a system that can be connected with smart devices in real-time to measure the joint movement range dynamically. Currently, the ROM of the joint is directly measured by a person using a goniometer. Conventional methods are different depending on the measurement method and location of the measurement person, which makes it difficult to measure consistently and may cause errors. Also, it is impossible to measure the ROM of joints in real-life situations. Therefore, the wearable sensor is attached to the joint to be measured to develop a miniaturize size ROM device that can measure the range of motion of the joint in real-time. The sensor measured the resistance value changed according to the movement of the joint using a load cell. Also, the sensed analog values were converted to digital values using an Analog to Digital Converter(ADC). The converted amount can be transmitted wireless to the smart device through the wearable sensor node. As a result, the developed device can be measured more consistently than the measurement using the goniometer, communication with IoT-based smart devices, and wearable enables dynamic observation. The developed wearable sensor node will be able to monitor the dynamic state of rehabilitation patients in real-time and improve the rapid change of treatment method and customized treatment.

  • Time series are comprehensively appeared and developed in many applications, ranging from science and technology to business and entertainrilent. Similarity search under time warping has attracted much interest between the time series in the large sequence databases. DTW (Dynamic Time Warping) is a robust distance measure and is superior to Euclidean distance for time series, allowing similarity matching although one of the sequences can elastic shift along the time axis. Nevertheless, it is more unfortunate that DTW has a quadratic time. Simultaneously the false dismissals are come forth since DTW distance does not satisfy the triangular inequality. In this paper, we propose an efficient range query algorithmbased on a new similarity search method under time warping. When our range query applies for this method, it can remove the significant non-qualify time series as early as possible before computing the accuracy DTW distance. Hence, it speeds up the calculation time and reduces the number of scanning the time series. Guaranteeing no false dismissals, the lower bounding function is advised that consistently underestimate the DTW distance and satisfy the triangular inequality. Through the experimental result, our range query algorithm outperforms the existing others.

  • Purpose: This study investigated the short-term effectiveness of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) on pain, the ankle instability, the ankle function, dorsiflexion range of motion (ROM), and dynamic balance in patients with chronic ankle instability (CAI). Methods: Eighteen participants were divided into an experimental (n=9) and control group (n=9). The ESWT in the experimental group was applied to the lateral collateral ligament in combination with the tibialis anterior whereas the ESWT was applied to the lateral collateral ligament of the ankle alone in the control group. Pain, the ankle instability, the ankle function, dorsiflexion ROM, and dynamic balance were measured using the Visual analog scale, Cumberland ankle instability tool, American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society ankle-hindfoot score, weight-bearing lunge, and Y-balance test, before and after ESWT intervention. Results: Significant interactions (group × time) and time effects were observed in the dorsiflexion ROM and dynamic balance. Bonferroni's post-hoc analysis showed that the experimental group revealed a more significant change in dorsiflexion ROM and dynamic balance than the control group. There was a significant time effect in the pain, the ankle instability, and the ankle function, but no significant interaction (group × time) was observed. Conclusion: The ESWT could improve the pain, ankle instability, ankle function, dorsiflexion ROM, and dynamic balance in patients with CAI. Furthermore, the ESWT combined with lateral ankle ligaments and tibialis anterior more improves the dorsiflexion ROM and dynamic balance.

  • Recently high dynamic range imaging technique is hot issue in computer graphic area. We present a progressive tone mapping algorithm, which is based on weighted least squares optimization framework. Our approach combines weighted leastsquaresfiltering with iCAM06, for showing more perceptual high dynamic range images in conventional display, while avoiding visual halo artifacts. We decompose high dynamic range image into base layer and detail layer. The base layer has large scale variation, it is obtained by using weighted least squares filtering, and then the base layer incorporates iCAM06 model. Then, adaptive compression on the base layer according to human visual system. Only the base layer reduces contrast, and preserving detail. The resultshows more perceptual color appearance and preserve fine detail, while avoiding common artifacts.

  • One of the most influential factors on estimating the complex modulus by using longitudinal vibration of a rod-type specimen is the accuracy of the approximate models for describing the dynamic behavior of the specimen. Performance of several approximate models is investigated analytically on the basis of the Pochhammer-Chree theory in case of infinite specimen and numerically on the basis of the finite element analysis in case of finite specimen. The frequency range where each model gives good approximation and its accuracy in that range are determined.

  • Wide dynamic range active pixel sensor(APS) using a charge pump circuit has been designed by using 2-poly 4-metal $0.35{\mu}M$ standard CMOS technology. The structure of the proposed APS is similar to the structure of the conventional 3-Tr APS. The proposed unit pixel consists of one photodiode and three MOSFETs. Using a charge pump circuit, the dynamic range of the proposed APS is increased, compared to the conventional 3-Tr APS.
