General Automotive Powertrain Design with the Combination of the Component (요소결합을 통한 범용 파워트레인 성능해석프로그램 개발)

  • Powertrain simulation is important far the analysis of a vehicle performance. Automotive powertrain has been considered as the unified system and should be remodeled, whenever a powertrain system is changed. In this study, a new method is proposed far the synthetic modeling for the automotive powertrain. Components are separated from the powertrain system and constructed the matrix through dynamic relationships. The dynamic equation of the total powertrain system can be driven from the combination of each component. In order to combine each component, the superposition method is modified for the powertrain composition.

  • 기존의 컴포넌트 모델에서는 컴포넌트 사용과 설정의 분리가 용이하지 않아 개발자가 제약사항(처리시간과 메모리)간의 트레이드 오프(trade-off)를 고려할 수 없을 뿐만 아니라 AOP를 적용하기 힘들다. 본 논문에서는 제어인터페이스를 임의적으로 추가할 수 있는 FCM(fractal component model)을 사용하여 aspect을 적용하였고, 런타임시 비기능적인 속성을 효율적으로 재구성하는 동적 위빙(dynamic weaving)을 지원하기 위해서, fractal component의 제어기능을 담당하는 membrane에 있는 구성요소 중 제어 객체(control object)와 인터셉터 객체(interceptor object)를 간단하게 선택하고 구성하기 위해 혼합클래스를 사용하는 프레임워크를 제안한다. 또한 aspect의 재사용성을 높이기 위해, AspectDataBase를 프레임워크에 설계하였다.

  • A program aiming at predicting dynamic characteristics of a Liquid Rocket Engine(LRE) was developed and examined to trace entire LRE operation. In the startup period, transient characteristics of the propellant flows were predicted and validated with hydraulic tests data. An arrangement of each component for the pipelines was based on an operating circuit of open cycle LRE. The flow rate ratio for the gas generator and the main chamber was determined to mimic that of real open cycle LRE. Individual component modeling at its transient was completed and was integrated into the system prediction program. Essential parameters of the component dynamic characteristics were examined in an integrated fashion.

Color Noise Reduction Method in Non-constant Luminance Signal for High Dynamic Range Video Service

  • A high dynamic range (HDR) video service is an upcoming issue in the broadcasting industry. For compatibility with legacy devices receiving a non-constant luminance (NCL) signal, new tools supporting an HDR video service are required. The current pre-processing chain of HDR video can produce color noise owing to the chroma component down-sampling process for video encoding. Although a luma adjustment method has been proposed to solve this problem, some disadvantages still remain. In this paper, we present an adaptive color noise reduction method for an NCL signal of an HDR video service. The proposed method adjusts the luma component of an NCL signal adaptively according to the information of the luma component from a constant luminance signal and the level of color saturation. Experiment results show that the color noise problem is resolved by applying our proposed method. In addition, the speed of the pre-processing is increased more than two-fold compared to a previous method.

  • The amount of incoming e-mails is increasing rapidly due to the wide usage of Internet. Therefore, it is more required to classify incoming e-mails efficiently and accurately. Currently, the e-mail classification techniques are focused on two way classification to filter spam mails from normal ones based mainly on Bayesian and Rule. The clustering method has been used for the multi-way classification of e-mails. But it has a disadvantage of low accuracy of classification. In this paper, we propose a novel multi-way e-mail classification method that uses PCA for automatic category generation and dynamic category hierarchy for high accuracy of classification. It classifies a huge amount of incoming e-mails automatically, efficiently, and accurately.

A Numerical Study on the Response of the Tibial Component in Total Knee Arthroplasty to Longitudinal Impact (인공무릎관절 전치환술에 있어 축방향 충격에 의한 Tibial Component의 응답 특성 분석 연구)

  • In this study, the stress distribution for different tibial components was observed In order to Investigate the load transfer and potential failure mechanism of the tibial components subjected to dynamic impact loading and also to evacuate the effect of bone-implant bonding conditions on the implant system. The 3-dimensional finite element models included an intact tibia, cemented metal-backed tibial component, uncemented metal-blocked tibial component, cemented all-polyethylene tibial component, and metal-backed component with a debonded bone/stem interface. The results showed that the cemented metal-hocked component Induced slightly higher peak stress at stem tip than the uncemented component. The peak stress of the all-polyethylene tibia1 component at stem trip showed about half thats of metal-backed tibial components. The all-polyethylene component showed a similar dynamic response to intact tibia. In case of debonded bone/stem interface, the peak stress below the metal tray was three times Higher than that of the fully bonded interface and unstable stress distribution at the stem tip was observed with time, which causes another adverse bone apposition and implant loosening. Thus, the all-polyethylene tibial component bonded fully to the surrounding bone might be most desirable system under an impact loading.

  • The sophistication of current software applications results in the increasing cost fur software development time. The component-based software development framework is proposed to overcome the difficulty and time-consuming requirements by modularity and reusability. As is the general software case, a component-based simulation framework encourages the reusability of the real system model based on the modularity of the applied simulation methodology. This paper presents a component-based simulation environment that is based on the DEVS/COM run-time infrastructure. The DEVS (Discrete Event System Specification) formalism provides a formal modeling and simulation framework for the generic dynamic systems [1] and Microsoft's COM (Component Object Model) is one of the strongest competitor fur the component standard. The reusability by the DEVS/COM simulation environment saves model development time remarkably and component technology make simulator itself to be a subparts of real application.

  • In component-based system, the qualities of components as reusable units are the most important to success the component-based development. Therefore, before software implementation phase, the designed components should be measurable to improve the qualities of the components and the measured results should be reflected in the component-based development phase. In addition, the qualities of the components should be measured accurately. Accordingly, this paper proposes cohesion and coupling metrics applying static and dynamic dependency characteristics by the interdependence between classes. We prove the theoretical soundness of the proposed metrics by the axiom of briand et al. A case study and a comparison with the conventional metrics verify the practicality of the proposed metrics. The development times and endeavors to design the components is reduced, because the proposed metrics measure the qualities of components accurately.

  • This research is that analyze multi-body system that have flexible and rigid body. Transfer robots are widely used mainly in automobile industry owing to its capability to handle heavy parts with high speed in wide range of movement. For the transfer robots to widen the application area, a new three-axis mechanism with heavy payload has been recently developed in consideration of the strength and stiffness. For the purpose, transient dynamic analysis is carried out to find the component position yielding a certain time. Though this research, we can analysis stress distribution and deformation of robot component.

  • In this paper, We propose the initial shape finding and dynamic analysis of cable dome structure are presented. Cable dome that is consist of three component such as cable, strut and fabric membrane have complex structural characteristics. Main structural system of cable dome is cable-strut tensegric system, and fabric membrane element Is conceived as cladding roof material. One of the important problem of cable dome is shape finding of those subjected to cable and membrane forces, which stabilize the structures. And the other is structural response from external load effect such as snow and wind When cable dome are subjected to dynamic load such as wind load each structural component has many important problem because of their special structural characteristics. One problem is that geometrical nonlinearity should be considered in the dynamic analysis because large deformation is occurred from their flexible characteristic. The other problem is that wrinkling occurs occasionally because cable and membrane elements can not transmit compressive forces. So this paper describe the physical structural response of cable dome structure.
