This paper describes the concepts of Static Line Rating (SLR) and Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) and the computational methods to demonstrate them. Calculation of the line capacity needs the heat balance equation which is also used for computing the reduced tension in terms of line aging. SLR is calculated with the data from the worst condition of weather throughout the year. Even now, the utilization ratio is obtained from this SLR data in Korea. DLR is the improved method compared to SLR. A process for DLR reveals not only improved line ratings but also more accurate allowed line ratings based on line aging and real time conditions of weather. In order to reflect overhead transmission line aging in DLR, this paper proposes the method that considers the amount of decreased tension since the lines have been installed. Therefore, the continuous allowed temperature for remaining life time is newly acquired. In order to forecast DLR, this paper uses weather forecast models, and applies the concept of Thermal Overload Risk Probability (TORP). Then, the new concept of Dynamic Utilization Ratio (DUR) is defined, replacing Static Utilization Ratio (SUR). For the case study, the two main transmission lines which are responsible for the north bound power flow in the Seoul metropolitan area are chosen for computing line rating and utilization ratio. And then line rating and utilization ratio are analyzed for each transmission line, so that comparison of the present and estimated utilization ratios becomes available. Finally, this paper proves the validity of predictive DUR as the objective index, with simulations of emergency state caused by system outages, overload and so on.

This study was conducted to investigate whether mat exercise and field exercise have effectiveness on the balance and gait in older adults. Thirty subjects were participated in this study. And they were all randomly divided into mat exercise and field exercise group. To evaluate the effects of mat and field exercise, subjects were evaluated by using One Leg Stand test which was static balance test, and Berg Balance test which was dynamic balance test. Finally Gait pattern was assessed by using 3-dimensional gait analysis system. The assessment parameters were evaluated before, after 3 weeks, and after 6 weeks treatments. And we received a consent form from all subjects. The results of repeated measures analysis of variance showed that One Leg Stand, Berg Balance, Stride length, Cadence, Velocity were significantly increased after than before exercise in both groups. So we conclude that therapeutic exercise that is mat and field exercise has effectiveness on the balance and gait in older adults.

Burge Balance test was significantly increased after than before therapeutic exercise. Stride length was significantly increased after than before therapeutic exercise. Cadence was significantly increased after than before therapeutic exercise. Velocity was significantly increased after than before therapeutic exercise. Conclusion: We thought that therapeutic exercise that is mat exercise has effectiveness on the balance and gait in older adults.
Purpose : The aims of this study was to conduct a systematic literature review with meta-analysis to investigate the effect of virtual reality based rehabilitation program on balance of patient with stroke in Korean studies. Method : The studies for analysis were searched in electronic databases(Research Information Sharing Service; RISS, Korean Studies Information Service; KISS, DBpia, e-articles, National Assembly Library). The key words for search were 'virtual reality', 'stroke', and 'balance' and only randomized controlled trials and clinical controlled trials were included. Of 40 studies identified in the search, 20 studies met the criteria of this study and included in this meta-analysis. Result : The results were as follows: 1) The overall effect size of virtual reality based rehabilitation program was 0.557(95% critical interval; 0.340~0.774). 2) In the analysis of sub-categorical variables, effect size was as follows; the commercial game type(0.621) > virtual environment type(0.335); the dynamic balance measurement(0.750) > static balance measurement(0.226); randomized controlled trial(0.653) > clinical controlled trial(0.275); and thesis type(0.706) > article of journal type(0.339). 3) In the analysis of sub-continuous variables, as time of program(per session) increased, the balance increased(p<0.05). Conclusion : The results of this study showed that virtual reality based rehabilitation program moderately improves the balance of stroke patient. Further studies are recommended to investigate the effect of sub-variables related to virtual reality programs on motor functions of patient with stroke.
The static and dynamic hydrophobicities of the water droplets placed on a hydrophobic surface coated using a fluoroalkylsilanes monolayer with different molecular chain lengths were investigated through direct observation of the actual droplet motion during the sliding process. The surface roughness of both was found to be less than 1 nm. The static contact angles of the coated FAS-3 and FAS-17 were respectively $80^{\circ}$ and $108^{\circ}$ at $150^{\circ}C$, 1 h. The slope of sliding acceleration against the water droplet mass exhibited an inflection point, thus suggesting the switching of the dominant sliding mode from slipping to rolling. While their sliding angles were similar in value, notable differences were exhibited in terms of their sliding behavior. This can be understood as being due to the contribution of the shear stress difference at the interface between the solid surface and water during the sliding process. These results show that the sliding acceleration of the water droplets depends strongly on the balance between gravitational and retentive forces on the hydrophobic surface.
The properties of deformed products are generally dependent upon the distribution of microstureture. It is, therefore, necessary to make the distribution of microstureture uniform in order to achieve the best balance of properties in the final product. This is often a demanding task, even for conventional materials. It is become essential to achieving mechanical integrity and a desired combination of microstructure and properties. The objective of this study is to design the optimal die profile which can yield more uniform microstructure in hot extruded product. The microstructure evolution, such as dynamic and static recrystallization as well as grain growth, is investigated using the program com-bined with yada and Senuma's empirical equations and rigid-thermoviscoplastic finite element method. The die profile of hot extrusion is represented by Bezier-curve to define all available profile. In order to obtain the optimal die profile which yields uniform microstructure in the product the FPS(Flexible Polyhedron Search) method is applied to the present study. To validate the result of present study the experimental hot extrusion is performed and the result is compared with that of simulation.
Purpose: This case report examines the influence of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) combined with a dynamic neuromuscular stabilization approach on balance in patients with cerebellar atrophy. Methods: The target subject of this case report was a 34-year-old woman who was informed of the purpose of this research and voluntarily agreed to participate in it. The case report conformed to research ethics based on the Helsinki Declaration. The target subject was confirmed to have cerebellar atrophy from an unknown cause in 2009 and was diagnosed with slight ataxia. At that time, she could carry out daily activities without physical therapy. On May 19, 2015, she suffered both a subdural hemorrhage (SDH) and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) in a traffic accident. She was urgently moved to the emergency room and managed by nonsurgical treatment, and then, the cerebellar atrophy and ataxia gradually deteriorated. To evaluate the patient's balance capacity before and after intervention, the trunk impairment scale (TIS), trunk impairment scale (OLST) during eye-closing/opening, timed up and go test (TUG), and visual analogue scale (VAS) were conducted. The PNF intervention program was executed for 30 min, four times a week, for three weeks. Results: The TIS and OLST during eye-closing/opening were improved by as much as a point, by 8.15 s and 6.21 s, respectively, after applying the PNF program. TUG and VAS decreased by 1.33 s and 3 points, respectively, after intervention. According to the result, the OLST during eye-closing/opening and VAS improved remarkably in comparison with those before intervention. Conclusion: As the final result of the case report, PNF intervention combined with DNSA more effectively improved the static balance capacity, such as the OLST during eye-closing/opening and VAS, compared to the dynamic balance capacity. In addition, the intervention duration and period of the exercise program are recommended to be more than 1 h a day for four weeks considering the learning ability of a patient with cerebellar atrophy.
The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of changes in body composition due to combined exercise on balance of the 20' obese women. Based on voluntary participation, 21 obese women in twenties were randomly divided into : Control(no exercise, n=7), Group I (aerobic exercise 50 minutes, n=7), Group 2 (combined exercise 50 minutes, n=7). All groups conducted allocated program five times a week for six weeks. At post and pre-experiment and at the time of each measurement, changes of body composition and balance among the three groups were statistically analyed using SPSS 18.0 ver. Compared to pre-experiment, Group I, II showed decrease of weight and body fat rate, but Group II showed both increase of muscle mass and decrease of body mass index(p<0.05). In balance ability, Group II showed improvement of static and dynamic balance, meanwhile Group I showed only improvement of static balance. Therefore, this research showed that combined exercise had positive effects on balance by increasing muscle mass and changing body composition.
The purpose of this study was to determine the reliability and validity of the postural balance program which uses the movement accelerating field principles of posture balance training and evaluation equipment and smartphone movement accelerometer program (SMAP) in healthy young adults. A total of 34 people were appointed as the subject among the healthy young adults. By using Biodex stability system (BSS) and SMAP on the subject, the posture balance capability was evaluated. For the test-retest reliability, SMAP showed the intra-class correlation (ICC: .62~.91) and standard error measurement (SEM: .01~.08). BSS showed the moderate to high reliability of ICC (.88~.93) and SEM (.02~.20). In the reliability of inter-rater, ICC (.59~.73) as to SMAP, showed the reliability of moderate in eyes open stability all (EOSA), eyes open stability anterior posterior (EOSAP), eyes open stability medial lateral (EOSML) and eyes open dinamic all (EODA), eyes open danamic anterior posterior (EODAP), and eyes open danamic medial lateral (EODML). However, ICC showed reliability which was as low as .59 less than in other movements. In addition, BSS showed the reliability of high as ICC (.70~.75). It showed reliability which was as low as ICC (.59 less than) in other movements. In correlation to the balance by attitudes between SMAP and BSS, EOSML (r=.62), EODA (r=.75), EODML (r=.72), ECDAP (r=.64), and ECDML (r=.69) shown differ significantly (p<.05). However, the correlation noted in other movements did not differ significantly. Therefore, SMAP and BSS can be usefully used in the posture balance assessment of the static and dynamic condition with eyes opened and closed.
Purpose: This study was done to suggest directions for developing exercise interventions for fall prevention in the elderly in Korea in the future, Method: Twenty five articles for fall prevention exercises were reviewed and analyzed. Result: $84.0\%$ of subjects were older adults age 65 and older living in the community. The most frequently performed interventions were lower limb strength and balance exercises together $43.3\%$, group exercise $70.0\%$, exercise 3 times/week $60.0\%$, 60 min per session $36.7\%$, duration of 12 weeks and 1 year $23.3\%$ each. The most frequently used outcome variables were static balance $84.0\%$, lower limb muscle strength $72.0\%$, dynamic balance $56.0\%$, and falls $56.0\%$. The effect of exercise interventions on fall prevention was inconclusive. Lower limb strength exercises with resistance were effective for increasing muscle strength. Balance exercises with various movements for balance were effective for increasing balance. Conclusion: Exercise interventions for fall prevention is recommended for older adults with risk factors of falling. The desirable type of exercise intervention is lower limb strength and balance exercise together.
