Dyeing Behavior of Low Temperature Plasma Treated Wool

  • In this paper, the effects of low temperature plasma (LTP) treatment on the dyeing properties of the wool fiber were studied. The wool fibers were treated with oxygen plasma and three types of dye that commonly used for wool dyeing, namely: (i) acid dye, (ii) chrome dye and (iii) reactive dye, were used in the dyeing process. For acid dyeing, the dyeing rate of the LTP-treated wool fiber was greatly increased but the final dyeing exhaustion equilibrium did not show any significant change. For chrome dyeing, the dyeing rate of the LTP-treated wool fiber was also increased but the final dyeing exhaustion equilibrium was only increased to a small extent. In addition, the rate of afterchroming process was similar to the chrome dyeing process. For the reactive dyeing, the dyeing rate of the LTP-treated wool fiber was greatly increased and also the final dyeing exhaustion equilibrium was increased significantly. As a result, it could conclude that the LTP treatment could improve the dyeing behavior of wool fiber in different dyeing systems.

  • 견섬유에 대한 산성 levelling 및 milling계 염료의 혼합염색에 있어서 그 염색특성에 관한 기초적인 자료를 얻기 위하여, C. I. Acid Orange 7과 C. I. Acid Blue 138을 사용하여, 염욕의 pH를 각각 pH 3, 4, 5, 염색온도 7$0^{\circ}C$의 조건으로 단일 및 혼합염색을 실시하여 흡착속도에 관하여 고찰했다. 1)C. I. Acid Orange 7 A)pH 3 : 염색초기에 있어서 단일염색에 비해 혼합염색을 했을 때 흡착속도가 빠르고 흡착량도 많았다. B)pH 4, 5 : 단일염색 및 혼합염색 양자간의 흡착속도 및 양에 거의 차이가 없었다. 2)C. I. Acid Blue 138 A)pH 3, 4, 5 전부 혼합염색일 때가 염색초기에 더 빠른 흡착속도와 더 많은 흡착량을 나타냈다. B)염색시간이 경과함에 따라 혼합염색과 단일염색간의 흡착속도와 흡착량의 차이가 인정되지 않았다.

폴리에스테르 섬유의 알칼리 염색과 견뢰도 (Alkaline Dyeing and Color Fastness of Polyester Fiber)

  • Polyester fibers and fabrics have been dyed with disperse dyes in alkaline dyebath such as alkaline buffer and alkaline auxiliary(JPH-95) comparing a traditional acidic dyeing. After dyeing the samples were extracted with 100% DMF, and washing and rubbing fastnesses were measured. In dyeing at $100^\circ{C}$ the dyeing rate increased with decreasing fiber denier, regardless of dye baths, whereas the dyeing rates of the same denier fiber increased in the order of alkaline dyeing>acidic dyeing>JPH-95 dyeing. In dyeing at $130^\circ{C}$ the dyeing rate of PET fiber in JPH-95 dye bath decreased compared with the other two types of dye baths. In the time and temperature curve the dye uptake of JPH-95 dyeing was higher than the other two types of dye baths in the range of low temperature$(95~115^\circ{C})$. The equilibrium dye uptake increased in the order of 0.52d>2.04d>0.05d fiber. Washing fastness had no change in all three types of dye baths. But rubbing fastness was not good for alkaline dyeing except black dyes.

가연조건에 따른 나일론 섬유의 염색특성 (I) - 연신비의 영향 - (Dyeing Properties of Nylon Textured Yarn according to False Twist Texturing Parameters(I) - Effect of Draw Ratio -)

  • Nylon textured yarn is usually manufactured by disk type false twist texturing. Dyeing properties of nylon textured yam have not been studied yet. In this study, dyeing properties of nylon textured yam according to draw ratio out of process parameters were investigated. The fact that microstructure of nylon textured yarn in amorphous region particularly is transformed by draw ratio was confirmed indirectly by measurement of dyeing rate because dyeing rate was affected by the structure of amorphous region. Dyeing rate at draw ratio 1.29 was the lowest because the higher draw ratio increase amorphous orientation and disturb dye diffusion into amorphous region. The microstructure according draw ratio was indirectly confirmed by 5% strength, tenacity, elongation. But difference in K/S value and fastness was insignificant.

아세토페논이 양모의 염색속도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Acetophenone on the Rate of Wool Dyeing)

  • One of barely water soluble ketones, acetophenone (AP) was dissolved in methanol and then was mixed with aqueous solution of C. I. Red Acid 114. In order to find out the role of AP in the dyeing process the rate constants and the activation parameters were calculated. The rate for the dyeing with AP was faster than that without it. Because of the reduced temperature dependence by AP the activation energy ($E_a$) for the dyeing with AP was smaller than that without it. With increasing temperature the activation enthalpy (${\Delta}H^*$), the activation entropy (${\Delta}S^*$), and the activation free energy ($G^*$) decreased, which was more noticeable in dyeing with AP. The rate constants and the activation parameters agreed well with the results from the previous reports that the ability of AP to increase disaggregation of dye molecules, loosening the wool fiber, and wickabilty of dyeing solution made it possible to dye wool fiber at low temperature.

호장근을 이용한 견직물의 천연염색 (Natural dyeing of silk fabric with Polygonum cuspidatum)

  • In this study, the dyeing of silk fabric with Polygonum cuspidatum extracts was investigated. The contents of this study are as follows. First, the proper dyeing conditions were investigated by measuring the dye uptake (K/S value) that depended on the dyeing conditions when silk fabric was dyed with Polygonum cuspidatum extract. Second, the brightness (L), hue, and chroma differences that appear after mordanting with Al, Cu and Fe were investigated by measuring the CIELAB and Munsell values. And third, the colorfastness and antibacterial property were measured. When the silk fabric was dyed with Polygonum cuspidatum extract, the proper dyeing conditions were a colorant concentration of 90% v/v, a dyeing of time 100 minutes, a dyeing temperature of $70^{\circ}C$, and a dyeing of pH 3. In mordanting methods, the dyeabilities of post-mordanting were higher than those of premordanting. The hue value displayed yellow (Y) and yellow-red (YR) in cases of pre and post mordanting. The C value decreased by the mordanting of Polygonum cuspidatum extracts. Generally the colorfastness of mordanted fabrics was improved by mordanting. The dyed fabrics showed a 90.6% of Staphylococcus aureus reduction rate, and the dyed and mordanted fabrics showed 97.1% bacteria reduction rate. The dyed and mordanted fabrics showed above 90.5% Klebsiella pneumoniae reduction rate, and Cu mordant revealed the most effective bacterial reduction.

  • The effects of benzyl alcohol on the properties of dyeing kinetic of silk fibroin were studied. The acid dye used was C.I. Acid Red 114. The half dyeing time is shorten by addition of benzyl alcohol. The diffusion activation energy is higher with the increase of the solvent. The rate of dyeing at benzyl alcohol addition to the purified silk fibroin is faster than that of the unpurified one.

  • 견의 저온염색용 조제(K-1)를 사용하여 염료 농도, 염욕의 pH, 염색시간에 따른 염색속도를 구하여 이 저온염색용가 염색에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과를 다음과 같이 요약한다. 1. pH 7에서 K-1의 농도가 증가할수록 무첨가구에 비해 흡진율은 증가 하였으며, K-1의 농도가 3% o.w.f. 이상에서는 증가의 경향이 둔화되었다. 2. pH 5에서도 무첨가보다 K-1의 첨가구에서 높은 흡진율을 보였으며, pH 7의 5$0^{\circ}C$ 첨가구가 pH 5, 5$0^{\circ}C$의 무첨가구보다 확산성은 높게 나타났다. 3. 염료 농도별로 볼 때 pH 7과 pH 5에서 모두 K-l 첨가구에서는 무첨가구보다 흡진율이 클 뿐만 아니라 염료 농도에 따른 흡진율 감소가 적게 일어났다.

섬유의 극세섬유 부지물 염색가공기술에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Dyeing Technology for Thin Cloth of Microfiber)

  • In order to improve dyeing and finishing technology of thin cloth of microfiber(super-fine fiber), the degrees of deep dyeing method, the light fastness, and the washing fastness were investiagted. 1. The thin cloth made of microfiber, $0.15^d\~0.2^d$, was conjugated type and the dyeing degree was lower at 5 to $10\%$ than that of cloth made of common fiber. The cloth of excellent dyeing fastness, light fastness, was developed by increasing the concentration of dye of high quality up to $5\~10\%$. 2. Because refractory rate of microfiber of $0.2^d$ was lower than that of $0.01^d$, the surface refractory rate of $0.2^d$ was lower than that of $0.01^d$ fiber. Therefore the surface of micro-fiber, $0.2^d$, was more rougher than that of $0.01^d$ and it belongs to separate type. 3. The higher degree of dyeing was increased by using dye of microparticle. Also the degree of textile printing was increased by adding urea solution ($20\%$) and glycerine diethylene glycol. 4. Light fastness was very excellent, marked 5 grade. However, washing fastness was 2$\~$3 grade. After dyeing, we could improve to 4 grade, through hot water washing including some organic chlorine solvent. 5. Super microfiber of $0.01^d$ will not be dyed by present dye and dyeing equipment, because right reflection light rate(white light) of fiber surface was too high and the more refraction rate higher the more surface refraction rate will be increased.

염색공장의 흡진율 계측을 위한 복합센서 흡진율 계측 모델 개발 (Development of a complex sensor software for measuring the exhaustion rate of dyeing factories)

  • 우리나라의 섬유산업 중 염색가공 분야는 에너지 다소비 업종으로, 노동 집약적 특성에 따라 원단위 생산성이 낮고, 대부분 중소·영세기업 특징이 있다. 염색 원단의 불량률이 높아지면 재염색으로 인한 생산단가 상승과 초과 에너지 투입으로 비용이 증가하기 때문에, 불량률을 최소를 통한 생산량 향상이 초점이었다. 또한 고온고압의 환경에서 이루어지는 염색공정은 사고 위험으로 염색기 원단 투입구를 실시간으로 개방할 수 없기 때문에 실시간으로 원단의 염색상태 확인이 어려웠다. 최근에는 염액을 실시간으로 모니터링하는 연구가 활발히 진행중이다. 본 논문에서는 탁도, pH, 전도도 센서를 이용하여 염액의 흡진율을 계측할 수 있는 복합센서 흡진율 모델 및 구성시스템을 제안하였으며, 실험방법소개와 실험결과 분석을 실시하였다.
