색소레이저의 국산화 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Homemade Dye Laser)

  • It is desirable to establish a fundamental basis of dye laser technology in korea. Except the special wavelength mirrors, all parts of the dye laser were assembled using domestically available materials and the interior technology. The characteristics of pumping light of Ar discharge tube, fluorescence light of Rhodamine 6G and output pulses of the homemade dye laser were investigated by means of CRO and spectroscopic analysis.

친환경 검정색 염료 개발을 위한 Ketapang과 오배자의 특성 비교 (Comparison of Characteristics of Ketapang and Gallnut for Development of Environmentally Friendly Black Dye)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop environmentally friendly black dye by comparing Ketapang and Gallnut, that have been traditionally used as a black dye. As a result of FT-IR and UV-Vis spectrophotometer analysis, Ketapang was characterized by condensed tannin, while Gallnut showed hydrolyzable tannin. Due to the dyeability characteristic analysis, the color fastness of the non-mordant dye was slightly lowered to grades 1-3. In the dry-cleaning fastness test, both non-mordant and iron mordant were excellent, in grade 4-5, and the daylight fastness was excellent grade 3-5 too. The $L^*$ values of Ketapang were 26.93 (pre-mordant) and 29.39 (post-mordant), which were higher than those of Gallnut, 41.90 (pre-mordant) and 43.02 (post-mordant), indicating that Ketapang was more easily colored as a black dye than Gallnut.

황화염료를 이용한 고밀도 나일론 편성물의 염색성 (Dyeing Properties of Sulfur Dye Using Nylon High Density Knitting Fabrics)

  • This paper examined dyeing using sulfur dye with nylon and the characteristics of high gauge knitting for generating high functionality including light weight, wind resistance and elasticity using fine nylon threads. Yarn tension, stitch field and knitting speed of high and fine gauge knitting were measured. The influence of reducing agents on sulfur dye, optimum dyeing conditions and fastness features in nylon dyeing were analyzed. The analysis results are presented below. When nylon (Hyoseong, 40d/34f) and spandex (Hyoseong, 20d) for use as hosiery yarn were used to knit high gauge and flat weave, 44 gauge, the effective knitting conditions were a stitch field over 8.2cm in 1 course length, yarn tension of less than 5g and knitting speed below 18rpm. Nylon dyeing using sulfur dye showed effective results when a rongalite reducing agent was used at more than 10% o.w.f. and dyeing was maintained at $98^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes. For dyeing nylon and spandex composite using sulfur dye, color fastness in washing, water, daylight and friction were higher than Class 4 or 5, which indicated a superior property. The analysis results verified that the existing problems in nylon dyeing could be solved by using sulfur dyes that don't use heavy metals due to superior fastness and therefore quality, high gauge nylon knit products could be produced.

Potential Use of Probiotic Consortium Isolated from Kefir for Textile Azo Dye Decolorization

  • Azo dyes are recalcitrant pollutants, which are toxic, carcinogenic, mutagenic and teratogenic, that constitute a significant burden to the environment. The decolorization and the mineralization efficiency of Remazol Brillant Orange 3R (RBO 3R) was studied using a probiotic consortium (Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus plantarum). Biodegradation of RBO 3R (750 ppm) was investigated under shaking condition in Mineral Salt Medium (MSM) solution at pH 11.5 and temperature $25^{\circ}C$. The bio-decolorization process was further confirmed by FTIR and UV-Vis analysis. Under optimal conditions, the bacterial consortium was able to decolorize the dye completely (>99%) within 12 h. The color removal was 99.37% at 750 ppm. Muliplex PCR technique was used to detect the Lactobacillus genes. Using phytotoxicity, cytotoxicity, mutagenicity and biototoxicity endpoints, toxicological studies of RBO 3R before and after biodegradation were examined. A toxicity assay signaled that biodegradation led to detoxification of RBO 3R dye.

Characterization of Dye Decolorization in Cell-Free Culture Broth of Trametes versicolor CBR43

  • The dye decolorization rate in a cell-free culture broth of the white-rot fungus Trametes versicolor CBR43 was studied, including the effects of inhibitors of NaCl, Zn(II), and Cd(II) on dye decolorization activity. The maximum rates of dye decolorization in cell-free culture broth were 1,410, 44.7, 41.2, and $0.19{\mu}mol{\cdot}l^{-1}{\cdot}min^{-1}$ for Acid Blue 62, Acid Black 175, Reactive Blue 4, and Acid Red 114, respectively. The inhibition effects of NaCl, Zn(II), and Cd(II) on dye decolorization were quantitatively compared using the half maximal inhibition concentration ($IC_{50}$), which indicates the concentration of an inhibitor required for 50% inhibition. Based on $IC_{50}$ values, dye decolorization in the cell-free culture broth of CBR43 was most potently inhibited by Cd(II), whereas the inhibitory effect of NaCl was relatively low. The dye decolorization rates and $IC_{50}$ data can be used in the design and development of a dye-wastewater treatment process using T. versicolor CBR43 and its operating factors.

유구치 아말감 수복물에서 레진 접착성 이장재의 미세 변연 누출에 관한 비교 연구 (AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY FOR MICROLEAKAGE OF AMALGAM USING RESIN ADHESIVE LINERS IN PRIMARY MOLAR TOOTH)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the marginal leakage of resin liner which was used as a liner to amalgam restoration. Control group composed of no liner group, copalite group and experimental group composed of All-bond 2, Vitrebond, Superbond D-liner applied groups were evaluated. Cl.V preparation with a size of $3{\times}2{\times}1.5mm$ on 70 extracted primary molars were made and applied appropriate liners for each groups. After amalgam filling and polishing, polished specimens underwent temperature changed from $5^{\circ}C\;to\;55^{\circ}C$ a thousand times. After thermocycling, specimens were placed in 2% methylene blue dye solution for 72 hours in an incubator set at $37^{\circ}C$. The teeth were sectioned buccolingually and the degree of dye penetration was observed with a spectroscopy. (${\times}30$) The following results were obtained. 1. Vitrebond, All-bond 2, Superbond D-liner group exhibited a statistically significant lower degree of dye penetration than no liner and copalite group. (Kruskal-Wallis analysis, P<0.05) 2. No liner group and copalite group exhibited a similar degree of dye penetration. (Mann-Whitney analysis, P>0.05) 3. All-bond 2 group exhibited a statistically significant lower degree of dye penetration than Vitrebond group, (Mann-Whitney analysis, P<0.05) Superbond D-liner group also exhibited a lower degree of dye penetration than Vitrebond group but was statistically insignificant. 유연성 평발에 적용한 로우다이 테이핑에 의한 균형 수행력의 변화 (The Changes of Balance Performance by Low-dye Taping Application on Flexible Flatfoot)

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine the immediate effect of low-dye taping on balance performance in subjects with flexible flatfoot. METHODS: Fifteen asymptomatic volunteers who had flexible flatfoot (age, $21.7{\pm}1.81$years; height, $164.80{\pm}7.57cm$; weight, $56.47{\pm}10.48kg$) were participated for this study. Navicular drop test was used to evaluate pronation of foot in three different conditions; non-weight bearing position without low-dye taping, weight bearing position without low-dye taping, weight bearing position with low-dye taping. And balance performance (anterio/ posterior, medial/lateral, and overall) was evaluated using the Biodex Balance System in three different conditions; one-leg standing without low-dye taping, one-leg standing with low-dye taping, and one-leg standing with low-dye taping in one week later. Repeated-measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to assess navicular height and balance performance across the three testing conditions. RESULTS: Significant and clinically meaningful improvement in navicular height was found after application of the low-dye taping. However, there was no statistically significant change in balance performance. CONCLUSION: The results of this study provide evidence to suggest that low-dye taping does not affect balance performance.

앰포테릭섬유/산성염료계의 계면동전압 측정치에 대한 PCA (Principle Component Analysis on Electrokinetic Measurements for Amphoteric Fibers/Acid Dye System)

  • In the light of the properties of colloids, in the surface of disperse phase and dispersion, there exist specific characters such as adsorption or electric double layer, which seems to play important roles in determining the physiochemical properties in the dyeing system. Nylon, wool and silk, the typical amphoteric fibers were dyed with Acid dye and various combinations were prepared by combining pH, temperature and dye concentration, in order to generate flowing electric potential which were measured by microviolt meter and specific conductivity meter. The results were transformed to Zeta potential by Helmholtz-Smoluchowski formular and to surface electric charge density by Suzawa formular, surface dye amount, and effective surface area of fibers, and these data were statistically analysed by principle component analysis.

  • The objectives of this study were to evaluate color sensation for yellowish natural dye fabrics using magnitude estimation to determine physical colorimetric factors significantly related to human sensibility by establishing power function in psychophysical analysis. Fourteen different yellowish fabrics dyed with natural colorants were selected as stimuli and subjective color sensations including brightness, heaviness, softness, strength, warmth, activeness, classicalness, femininity, and pleasantness for each stimulus were evaluated. As results, yellowish natural dye fabrics in general seemed to evoke feeling of brightness, femininity, and pleasantness more strongly than that of heaviness and classicalness. Most of color sensation were significantly related with more than one of physical color properties, which leads to establishing reliable power functions between them. In the power functions, these relationships could be utilized to design color-sensible natural dye textiles.
