Listening Decision Aid Simulator for Whistle Sound-Related Collision Accidents

  • This paper describes Listening Decision Aid Simulator (LDAS) to provide a decision-supporting tool that can reproduce real-like listening situations focused on the duty officer's two ears. The sound propagation mechanism from a whistle to listener's two ears is established at first, and the spatial transfer coefficients of a bridge door are measured at training vessel. Then, the construction works with the spatial transfer coefficients and its evaluation experiments with five collision accidents are carried out. As results from tests, the five cases can be judge by LDAS; it led to the insight of practical use of LDAS as one of the decision supporting system in collision accidents.

피항동작시의 한계접근거이에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Approaching Distance in Taking Action to Avoid Collision)

  • In the Sailing Rules of International Regulation for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972, any definite distance between two vessels approaching each other is not referred for adequate maneuvering to avoid collision. At sea the officer in charge of bridge duty is required to guess safe distance before he takes maneuvering actions needed to avoid collision. Papers on safe distances calculated on the base of the motiional characteristics of ships for collision avoiding actions are very few. In this paper, the minimum safe approaching distances necessary for actions to be taken to avoid collision are calculated in numerical numbers definitely by mathematic formula based on the maneuvering indices got from experiments of actual ships. On the assumption that two vessels same in size and conditions are approaching each other, the author calculated the minimum safe approaching distance as 4.5 times, sufficient safe approaching one as 9.0 times the length of the ship involved in head-on situation and 5.0 times, 10 times respectively the length of the ship in each case mentioned above in crossing situation.

  • An expert system for a ship medical manager is presented in this paper where it si planned to improve the medical environment of the crew. The proposed system includes a information retrieval system that is based on the knowledge database organizing important experiences of first-aiders and is intended to be used effectively by the inexpert member. Moreover, this system of which the purpose is to computerize the medical work of each ship medical manager that the third officer give an affirmative guide for the execution of their duty from the medical treatment database of the disease occurring frequently on many crews.

  • Although there are numerous regulations provided for the Steering and Sailing Rules on the International Regulation forPreventing Collisions at Sea, 1972(hereinafter called COLREG), the most important Sailing Rules for approaching between two vessels in sight of one another could actually be defined as three typical aspects based on both the COLREG and practical sea experience. The Rules are overtaking , head-on situation and crossing situation applicable, those clearly prescribes on the COLREG. Thus, for easy understanding of these Rules comprehensive legal research is performed by every chapter in this paper so as to make practical implementation by duty officer of apprentice of shipping concerned. Consequently an aim of the study intends not only to exonerate any vessel, or the owner, master or crew there of, from consequences of well understanding and timely implementation to complying with the aforementioned three typical Steering and Sailing Rules which may be required by ordinary practice of seamen but also to avoid risk of collision at sea.

  • In field of Urban transit safely, It must be not only secured vehicle but also every areas like power, signal, communication, track, tunnel, operating facilities. Likewise it is very important not only hardware system like vehicles, facilities but also software system like action of engine driver, duty officer. In other to secure safety of hardware, soft ware, it is very important systemic process. In Korea, Many operating companies neglect to invest in safely and ignore technical development about safety because of management. Safely was considered in subway system and many studies were accomplished about safety in subway system in advanced county like U.K, USA. Hence, in this paper, Conditions and improvement of minimum considerable hardware and software are proposed for safe operation in Urban transit.

위탁승선실습생의 법적지위 -목포해양전문대학생을 중심으로- (A Study on the Legal Status of Apprentice Officers on the Merchant ship)

  • Students of the Mogpo Merchant Marine College must complete one year's shipboard training course according to IMO(International Maritime Organization) regulations as an obtaining matter of Certificate of Competency. The purpose of this shipboard training course lies int he student's acquiring practical knowledge and sill as a part of a course of study and, in the future, fostering essential adaptability and leadership, especially in bad circumstances on the sea. The shipboard training course has two kind that the students can be trained either on the training ship or on a merchant ship of the shipping company. In this paper, I only thought over the legal status of apprentice officers on the merchant ship and analyzed the problems practicably during shipboard training. This paper is made up of five chapters. The first chapter contains the purpose contents and method of this study, in the second, the meaning of shipboard practice education and training, in the third, the legal status of apprentice officers on merchant ship, in the fourth, the analysis of the provisions of the seamen act applied to apprentice officers on a merchant ship. And in the last chapter 5, the contents mentioned is summarized and directions are presented to amend the provisions of the seamen act applied to apprentice officers. The conclusions are as follows. 1.In case of shipboard training on overseas employment ship, the seamen act applied to the manning agent employing the apprentice officers should be reinforced. 2. The provisions of disembarkation in mid course by discipline of the seamen acts Article 24 should be relaxed. And the provisions in relations to seamen's duty to be a reason of discipline applied to apprentice officer among the provisions for ship's public order maintenance should be abolished. 3. The provision of repartriation completely should be applied to apprentice officers and the provisions of a journey expenditure during their embarkation or disembarkation have to be established. 4. The apprentice officers in shipboard training also need securing a basic wages provision to be criterion of an accident compensation. 5. The apprentice officers in shipboard training should not be in charge of third officer's or third engineer' study.

해기사의 조직시민행동이 조직몰입을 매개로 이직의도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Organizational Citizenship Behavior on Turnover Intentions in Marine Officers as Mediated by Organizational Commitment)

  • 해기사는 복합적이고 다양한 역할을 수행하는 전문직으로서 해운조직 내에서 중추적 역할을 담당하고 있다. 육상근무와 달리 해상에서는 고립된 공간에서의 생활, 정해진 항해기간동안 지속적인 교대근무와 고강도의 업무 긴장감 및 스트레스, 사회적 고립감 등의 특성으로 인하여 이직의 가능성이 높아진다. 이에 본 연구에서는 해기사의 조직시민행동이 조직몰입을 매개로 이직의도에 미치는 영향을 대기업, 중소기업, 공기업 3그룹으로 나누어 각 그룹 간 차이를 구조방정식으로 확인하고자 하였다. 3그룹 간 분석 결과, 해기사의 조직몰입과 조직시민행동의 하위요인들, 그리고 이직의도의 크기를 확인하였을 때, 충성심과 이직의도가 그룹 간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이고 있었다. 조직시민행동은 이직의도에 직접적으로 영향을 미치지는 않았지만, 간접효과를 확인하였을 때 충성심을 매개로 이직의도에 영향을 미치고 있었고, 관계지향 시민행동은 충성심을 매개로 하여 이직의도에 부(-)적 영향을 미치고 있었다. 공기업을 제외하고, 대기업과 중소기업에서는 각각 비표준화경로계수가 -0.229±0.117과 -0.319±0.068로 통계적으로 유의하게 영향을 미치고 있었다. 이러한 결과는 대기업과 중소기업 해운회사의 직원들의 이직의도를 낮추기 위해서는 조직시민행동뿐만 아니라 조직몰입을 높이는 방안을 고려해야 한다는 점을 의미한다.

위탁선사 실습생의 승선실습 만족도에 관한 기초 연구 (A Basic Study on the Satisfaction of On-board Training for Cadets in Shipping Company)

  • The one-year onboard training, which has been implemented since 1988 according to the STCW Convention in 1978, is a crucial part of cadets' training and education. The choice of training shipping company is important that like a internship. This basic study is for the satisfaction at the shipping companies that trains cadets the Mokpo National Maritime University. The satisfaction for onboard training consists of a conscious, educational and environmental parts with six demographic characteristics and carried out the questionnaire survey of 206 cadets in shipping companies. The low parts of satisfaction are implemented cross tabulation analysis and in-depth interview for realize the reason. In this paper, the satisfaction from environmental part($3.83{\pm}0.75$) is high but conscious part($3.35{\pm}0.86$) and educational part($3.33{\pm}0.79$) are low. In demographic characteristics, male in gender, apprentice officer in duty, others in kind of crew, container in kind of vessel and 30,000~100,000 tons in size of vessel are high satisfaction in general. Specifically, feeding service($4.02{\pm}0.75$) in environment, influence on future vision($3.65{\pm}0.84$) in consciousness, goal for training($3.50{\pm}0.65$) in education showed the highest level in satisfaction.

  • 본 연구는 현재 정보기술의 급속한 발달로 인해 우리 일상 생활에 많은 변화를 야기하는 정보화가 진행되고 있는 현재 일반사회뿐만 아니라 국가가의 전쟁 양상도 기존 재래식 중심의 전쟁에서 정보화시대의 전쟁 즉 정보전의 개념으로 변화되어 가고 있는 시점에서 정보전의 개념과 미래 정보전의 개념, 특히 네트워크 중심의 전쟁에 대해 살펴봄으로써 정보전에 대한 개념 및 효율적인 운용방안을 제시함으로써 미래 정보전하에서 완벽한 임무수행에 기여할 수 있는 방법을 제시코자 한다. 이를 위하여 정보화시대의 전쟁양상을 시대별로 구분하여 정리하였으며, 미래전쟁양상의 변화에 대해서는 미래전의 기본구도, 미래전장의 변화, 미래 정보전의 양상에 대해 다루었으며 미래 정보전의 핵심인 네트워크 중심 전쟁에 대해 전쟁수행방식과 전쟁에서의 영향에 대해서 집중적으로 고찰해 봄으로써 네트워크 중심 전쟁의 올바른 운용방안에 대해 내용을 제시하고 있다.

항해사의 피로도 분석모델에 관한 기초연구 (A Basic Study on the Fatigue Analysis Model for Marine Officers)

  • 선박을 운항하는 항해사의 피로도(Fatigue)는 안전항해와 매우 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있다. 또한, 당직항해사의 피로는 중대한 해양사고를 초래할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 항해사의 근무환경, 피로유발요인 및 피로증세 등에 대하여 문헌조사를 실시하였다. 그리고 실습항해사를 대상으로 졸음, 정신적 육체적 작업부하도에 대한 피로도 관련 설문조사를 실시하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 마지막으로 이와 같은 피로도 조사 및 설문조사 분석결과를 바탕으로 항해사의 피로도 분석항목을 선정하고 이를 기반으로 향후 항해사의 업무수행능력을 평가하기 위한 피로도 분석모델을 제안하였다.
