  • In this paper, we describe a Duplex Power Controller for Control Rod Control System(CRCS). A Duplex Power Controller has the various functions for the reliable operations of Control Rod Drive Mechanism(CRDM). Also we have implemented the diverse functions by utilizing the developed Duplex Power Controller. Due to the developed Duplex Power Controller, we are assured that the commercial operation by this system be made before long.

  • This paper presents the duplex controller operated as master slave for Self Excited Static Type excitation system and the results of operation for duplex digital excitation system. Software is made up duplex multi-tasking control algorithm which is based on VxWorks(real-time OS), preprocessing algorithm for input-output signal, BSP & Device Driver for interfacing hardware and software, and OIS(Operator Interface Station) program, HMI S/W. Master controller and slave controller intercommunicate dominant data to minimize bump when controller switchover from master to slave occurs.   • A duplex system enhances reliability by tolerating faults through spatial redundancy. Faults can be detected by duplicating identical tasks in pairs of modules. However, this kind of systems cannot even detect the fault if it occurs coincidently due to either malfunctions of common component such as power supply and clock or due to such environmental disruption as EMI. In the paper, we propose a method to reduce those effects of coincident faults in the duplex controller computer. Specifically, a duplex system tolerates coincident faults by using a sophistication sequencing of scheduling technique with certain timing redundancy. In particular when all tasks should be completed in the sense of real-time, the suggested scheduling method works properly to minimize the probability of faulty tasks due to coincident fault without missing the timing constraints.

  • The FSK duplex remote controlling wireless transmission units with a common local oscillator circuit for transmitter and receiver are designed and implemented in this paper. In the FSK full-duplex the channel frequency for Tx/Rx is allocated, a common switching oscillator circuit for Tx/Rx is designed in the FSK half-duplex scheme. Both of FSK units get functions of automatic channel detection for busy channels and channel configuration for an idle channel in order to reduce the RF channel interference and are designed as a remote controller with small-sized low power of 10mW and the 400MHz-colpitz type PLL configuration of 50kHz channel separation. The full-duplex Tx/Rx link frequency gets frequency difference of 42.8MHz, which is double of 21.4MHz IF frequency.

  • This paper presents the development of LED street light lamp which is controled by central command system. This system includes a lamp unit controller, data repeater and command repeater as well as the LED lamps. These devices enable the individual power control and partial on/off control of the LED lamps by the control repeater through full duplex communication line. Also, they have the ability to control the brightness and period of on/off timing by detecting the car's existence. As a result of this development, it is founded that the performances of the system have been satisfied to apply for the actual road test.

  • In this paper, the FPGA modem platform complying with 3GPP Release 7 eHSPA specifications and its regularized verification flow are proposed. The FFGA platform consists of modem board supporting physical layer requirements, MCU and DSP core embedded control board to drive the modem board, and peripheral boards for RF interfacing and various equipment interfaces. On the other hand, the proposed verification flow has been regularized into three categories according to the correlation degrees of hardware-software inter-operation, such as simple function test, scenario test call processing and system-level performance test. When it comes to real implementations, the emulation verification strategy for low power mobile SoC is also introduced.

  • Research into underwater wireless networks that enable the monitoring and controlling of the ocean environments has been continuing for disaster prevention and military proposes, as well as for the exploitation of ocean resources throughout the world. A research group led by Hoseo university has been studying a distributed underwater monitoring and controlling network. In this study, we developed an interpolator for acoustic communication between an underwater base station controller and underwater base station, which is included in this network. The underwater acoustic communication provided by this network defines four links whose sampling rates are different. Low power consumption is one of the most important requirements. Therefore, we adopted CIC interpolators, which are known to act as filters with a low power consumption, and some CIC interpolators with an appropriate changing rate were selected depending on the link. However, these interpolators have a large passband drop and wide transition region. To solve these problems, we added a compensator and half-band filter. After verifying the algorithm by using Matlab, we designed and verified it with Verilog-HDL in a ModelSim environment.
