  • Various volume of water for the optimal brewing condition of the Korean distilled liquor produced by liquefaction of rice and corn starch was investigated Pilot brewings were carried out by the liquefaction of 5kg of rice and 10kg of corn starch with 150%, 200% and 250% of water regarding the amount of rice and corn starch. The pH, alcohol production and total acidity were normal during the fermentation process. The yield was proportional to the amount of water added and the highest yield was obtained by 250% of water addition without loss of quality. All the test results were not significantly different by the one-way ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test at p<0.05 and the flavor profiles were also not different according to the amount of water added. As a result, 250% of water addition was the most economical and optimal brewing condition in this study.

  • This study tried to find out the degree of emotional intelligence and moral sensitivity of nursing students and their effect on caring efficacy. Data collection was conducted online from January 14 to 23, 2021 for 143 students from 1st to 4th grade at 3 nursing colleges located in one province. For data analysis, using SPSS/WIN 23.0, descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA and Duncan test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression were used. As a result of the study, emotional intelligence was confirmed as an influencing factor of caring efficacy, specifically emotional utilization (p=.005), emotional regulation (p=.027), and emotional recognition of others (p=.037), and the explanatory power was 26.2%. Therefore, in order to increase the nursing students' sense of caring efficacy, it is necessary to develop nursing education and content development that can improve individual emotional intelligence of nursing students.

The analysis methods in this study included frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test for post-hoc analysis, and regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, digital literacy competency has a significant positive impact on the life satisfaction of middle-aged and older adults; as their digital literacy skills improve, their life satisfaction increases. Second, digital literacy competency varies based on gender, education level, employment status, and average monthly income, influencing their engagement in activities such as study or work. • In order to investigate the effect of vacuum levels in retort pouch on the eating-quality characteristics of the thermal processed packed rice, sensory evaluations were performed with retort pouched rice(Milyang-23) packed at the vacuum of 30 and 75 cm Hg in comparison with kettle cooked rice as a control. The mean hedonic scores of eating-quality characteristics were statistic-ally analyzed by using F-test, Duncan's multiple range test and simple correlations. F-values on appearance, stickiness, taste and general acceptability of rice samples were significant at 1 % level and that on flavor and hardness significant at 5% level respectively. The mean hedonic scores of appearance, flavor, taste and the general acceptability between retort pouched rice packed at the vacuum of 30 and 75 cm Hg were significantly different at the 55 level of probability according to Duncan's multiple range test. Those of stickiness among treatments were significantly different one another. Correlations between general acceptability and the other eating-quality characteristics of cooked-and packed-rice were significant with the exclusion of stickiness.

  • This study examined the effects of different interaction styles, that is, interaction with an object and interaction with an adult, on young children's cognitive level. Subjects were 150 5-year-old children. The task required children to predict the working of a mathematical balance beam. Seven cognitive levels were identified based on the logic of prediction. Data were analyzed by t-test, F-test, Duncan Test and Wilcoxon Matched-Pairs Test. Results showed that both interaction styles caused improvement in children's cognitive level, but when interaction with an adult was divided into two categories, i.e., interaction with the higher group and interaction with the lower group, the latter experienced decline in cognitive level. Regardless of sex, interactions within the Zone of Proximal Development and with the object were found to be effective methods for children's cognitive improvement.
