직사각형 리튬 이온 전지의 일체형 안전장치 제조 공정에 관한 연구 (Manufacturing Integral Safety Vents in Prismatic Lithium-ion Batteries)

  • A safety vent is crucial to protect its user from unpredictable explosions caused by increasing internal pressure of the lithium-ion batteries. In order to prevent the explosion of the battery, a safety vent rupture is required when the internal pressure reaches a critical value. In conventional manufacturing, the cap plate and the safety vent are fabricated separately and subsequently welded to each other. In the current study, a manufacturing process including a backward extrusion and coining process is suggested to produce an integral safety vent which also has the benefit of increasing production efficiency. FE simulations were conducted to predict the rupture pressure and to design the safety vent using a ductile fracture criterion and the element deletion method. The critical value, C, in the ductile fracture criterion was obtained from uniaxial tensile tests with an annealed sheet of 1050-H14 aluminum alloy. Rupture tests were preformed to measure the rupture pressure of the safety vent. The results met the required rupture pressure within 8.5±0.5 kgf/cm2. The simulation results were compared with experimental results, which showed that the predicted rupture pressures are in good agreement with experimentally measured ones with a maximum error of only 3.9%.

오스테나이트계 내열 구상흑연주철의 고온 특성 (Elevated Temperature Properties of Austenitic Heat-resistant Ductile Irons)

  • A new form of austenitic heat-resistant ductile iron was developed and its microstructures and elevated temperature properties were compared to those of Ductile Ni-Resist D5S. According to JMatPro calculations, it was predicted that Mo-rich carbides would be crystallized before the eutectic reaction starts in the developed alloy. At the austenite cell boundaries of the developed alloy, both Mo-rich carbides and Cr-rich carbides were found. In addition, Ni-silicides were found adjacent to Cr-rich carbides in D5S specimen and were identified as $Ni_2Si$. The developed alloy also had greater yield strength and lower tensile strength levels with less elongation due to the dissolution of Mo atoms into the austenite matrix and the precipitation of Mo-rich carbides. From the results of elevated temperature tensile tests and stress-rupture tests, it was found that the developed alloy had elevated temperature properties superior to those of D5S. This was due to the pinning effect of the dissolved Mo atoms in the austenite matrix.

액상확산접합한 Ni기 단결정 초내열합금의 크리프 파단 및 피로특성 (Creep-Rupture and Fatigue Properties of Transient Liquid Phase Bonded Joints of Ni-Base Single Crystal Superalloy)

  • The creep-rupture and low cycle fatigue properties of transient liquid phase bonded joints of Ni-base single crystal superalloy, CMSX-2 was investigated using MBF-80 insert metal. The (100) orientation of bonded specimen was aligned perpendicular to the joint interface. CMSX-2 was bonded at 1523K for 1.8ks in vacuum, optimum bonding condition. The creep rupture strength and rupture lives of the joints were the almost identical to ones of the base metal. SEM observation of the fracture surfaces of joints after creep rupture test revealed that the fracture surfaces classified three types of region, ductile fracture surface, cleavage fracture surface and interfacial fracture surface. The low cycle fatigue properties of the joints were also the same level as those of base metal. The elongation and reduction of area values of joints were comparable to those of base metal while fell down on creep rupture condition of high temperature.

펀치형상이 팽창튜브의 파단불안전성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Punch Shapes on Failure Instability of Expansion Tube)

  • The rupture of an expansion tube is mainly affected by the expansion ratio and the external shape of the punch used to expand the tube. In order to prevent the tube from rupture, the effect of the external shape of the punch should be considered in the design. The aim of this paper is to confirm the effect of key design parameters of the punch on rupture of the tube using a finite element analysis with a ductile damage model. The results of the analysis indicated that the expansion ratio of the tube was mainly affected by variation of the radius of the punch. However, the rupture was more affected by variation of the punch angle than the radius of the punch. The existence of a specific punch angle at which rupture did not occur, even if the radius of the punch was increased, was found from the results.

인코넬 690 합금의 크리프거동 (Creep Behaviours of Inconel 690 Alloy)

  • Inconel 690 alloy has widely been used in power plant and high temperature facilities because it has high thermal resistance and toughness. But we have little design data about the creep behaviors of the alloy. Therefore, in this study, an apparatus has been designed and built for conducting creep tests under constant load conditions. A series of creep tests on Inconel 690 alloy have been performed to get the basic design data and life prediction of inconel products and we have gotten the following results. First, the stress exponents decrease as the test temperatures increase. Secondly, the creep activation energy gradually decreases as the stresses become bigger. thirdly, the constant of Larson-Miller Parameters on this alloy is estimated about 10. And last the fractographs at the creep rupture show both the ductile and the brittle fracture according to the creep conditions.

But, we have little design data about the creep behaviors of the alloy. Therefore, in this study, creep tests under four constant stress conditions have been conducted with low different temperature conditions. A series of creep tests had been performed to get the basic design data and life prediction of titanium products and we have gotten the fallowing results. First, the stress exponents decrease as the test temperatures increased. Secondly, the creep activation energy gradually decrease as the stresses became bigger. Thirdly, the constant of Larson-Miller parameter on this alloy was estimated as about 7.5. And for the last, the fractographs at the creep rupture showed the ductile fracture due to the intergranullar rupture.

보강혼합토의 압축 크리프 특성 (Compressive Creep Properties of Reinforced Soil Mixture)

  • This study was performed to provide basic data for development and construction of reinforced soil wall that mixed with reinforcements such as calcium carbonate, monofilament fiber. In order to determine proper moisture content and mixing ratio by weight of reinforcement, Poisson's ratio and compressive strength tests for sandy soil had been conducted. Model tests for long-term behavior of reinforced soil wall were carried out to investigate the effect of reinforcement during loads and under static loads. The results of creep and model tests for sandy soil compared with clayey soil. Reinforced sandy soil mixed with calcium carbonate and cement showed brittle rupture by shear but that of mixed with monofilament fiber showed ductile rupture due to the tension force of fiber. It was shown that when age increased, creep strain of reinforced soil under sustained load approached constant values.

Al-Zn-Mg 3원계 알루미늄 합금의 크리프 거동 (Creep Behaviour of Al-Zn-Mg Ternary Aluminum Alloy)

  • To make practical applications of Al-Zn-Mg ternary aluminum alloy effectively in various field, a series of static creep tests under the 16 temperature-stress combination conditions had been performed. The creep tester with constant stress loading was designed and made by the authors and used in this study. The higher the creep temperature rose, the less the stress exponents became. The bigger the applied stresses became, the less values the creep strain activation energy showed. The life prediction constant of Larson-Miller parameter was calculated as about 2.3. In the fractography, the ductile fracture with dimples by intergranular breakage was primarily observed. We can make practical use of these test data in the design, the life prediction and the prevention of the accidents of the thermal facilities, etc.

유사연성 하이브리드 FRP 시트를 이용한 RC 보의 휨 보강 (Pseudo-Ductile Hybrid FRP Sheet for Strengthening Reinforced Concrete Beams)

  • 철근콘크리트 휨 부재 보강에 자주 사용하는 탄소섬유 대신 탄소섬유 및 유리섬유 두 가지를 동시에 사용, 보강된 콘크리트 휨 부재의 강도 및 연성을 증진시키는 방안을 연구하였다. 두 가지 섬유의 혼합비가 적절한 경우, 탄소섬유가 선파단하고 보다 큰 변형 및 응력에서 유리섬유가 순차적으로 파단하는 소위 유사연성거동을 보일 수 있다. 본 연구에 사용된 두 가지 섬유가 유사연성거동을 보일 수 있는 이론적인 혼합비는 4.62 : 1 (체적비)로 나타났다. 두 가지 섬유로 보강한 무근콘크리트보의 휨 실험에서 탄소섬유 :유리섬유 = 6.8 : 1 이상인 경우 유사연성거동이 나타남을 확인하였다. 체적비 8.8 : 1의 유리섬유-탄소섬유 하이브리드 시트를 제작하고, 철근콘크리트보를 보강한 후 휨 실험을 수행하였다. 하이브리드 시트 1겹 및 2겹으로 보강한 보에서 모두 무보강 보에 비하여 강도가 증진하는 반면에, 연성이 유지되는 결과를 확인하였다. 하이브리드 시트를 사용하면 탄소섬유를 사용한 보강에 비하여 보다 경제적이면서 탄소섬유와 동등 이상의 강도 및 보다 우수한 연성을 나타내었다. 하이브리드 시트를 사용한 휨 부재 보강에서 한 가지 섬유만을 사용하는 기존의 설계 방법을 적용하여도 보수적인 설계가 가능하였다.
