  • 현대 시대에 광통신 시스템은 안정적이고 높은 단일 모드를 갖는 광원을 필요로 한다. 이 조건을 만족하는 λ/4 phase shifted DFB는 높은 단일모드 생성을 보였으나 high spatial hole burning문제점을 가지고 있다. λ/4 phase shift를 사용하지 않은 dual-pitch grating DFB가 소개되었지만 제작상의 어려움을 가지고 있다. 또 다른 구조인 selection-free tapered stripe DFB lasers가 제안되었는데 제작이 간단하면서도 높은 단일모드 생성을 보였다. State detection of explosive welding structure by dual-tree complex wavelet transform based permutation entropy

  • Recent years, explosive welding structures have been widely used in many engineering fields. The bonding state detection of explosive welding structures is significant to prevent unscheduled failures and even catastrophic accidents. However, this task still faces challenges due to the complexity of the bonding interface. In this paper, a new method called dual-tree complex wavelet transform based permutation entropy (DTCWT-PE) is proposed to detect bonding state of such structures. Benefiting from the complex analytical wavelet function, the dual-tree complex wavelet transform (DTCWT) has better shift invariance and reduced spectral aliasing compared with the traditional wavelet transform. All those characters are good for characterizing the vibration response signals. Furthermore, as a statistical measure, permutation entropy (PE) quantifies the complexity of non-stationary signals through phase space reconstruction, and thus it can be used as a viable tool to detect the change of bonding state. In order to more accurate identification and detection of bonding state, PE values derived from DTCWT coefficients are proposed to extract the state information from the vibration response signal of explosive welding structure, and then the extracted PE values serve as input vectors of support vector machine (SVM) to identify the bonding state of the structure. The experiments on bonding state detection of explosive welding pipes are presented to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we propose a flexible turbo decoding algorithm for a high order modulation scheme that uses a standard half-rate turbo decoder designed for binary quadrature phase-shift keying (B/QPSK) modulation. A transformation applied to the incoming I-channel and Q-channel symbols allows the use of an off-the-shelf B/QPSK turbo decoder without any modifications. Iterative codes such as turbo codes process the received symbols recursively to improve performance. As the number of iterations increases, the execution time and power consumption also increase. The proposed algorithm reduces the latency and power consumption by combination of the radix-4, dual-path processing, parallel decoding, and early-stop algorithms. We implement the proposed scheme on a field-programmable gate array and compare its decoding speed with that of a conventional decoder. The results show that the proposed flexible decoding algorithm is 6.4 times faster than the conventional scheme.

A High-Power Step-up Converter with High Efficiency and Fast Control-to-Output Dynamics

  • A new high-power step-up based on the two-module parallel-input (PISO) modular dual inductor-fed push-pull converter is proposed. The proposed converter is operated at a constant duty cycle and employs and auxiliary circuit to control the output voltage with a phase-shift between two modules. It shows a high efficiency due to the greatly reduced switch turn-off stress. It also shows a high and linear voltage conversion ratio, low current stress in the output capacitor, and fast control-to-output dynamics. The operation principles and the mathematical models of the proposed converter are presented. Features of the proposed converter are discussed in comparison with the two-module PISO modular dual inductor-fed push-pull converter. Also, experimental results from a 50kHz, 800W, 350 Vdc prototype with an input voltage range of 20-32 Vdc are provided to confirm the validity of the proposed converter. The new converter compares favorably with the conventional counterpart, and is considered well siuted to high-power step-up applications.

  • This paper presents the new method to recognize the 2D patterns dynamically by rotating the input patterns according to the difference vector. Generally neural network with many patterns leads to various recognition ratio. The dynamic management of input patterns means that we can move pixels to desired locations controlled by the difference vector. We divide dual neural network model into two parts at learning phase, respectively. And then we combine them to construct the total network. Our model has some good results such that it has less number of patterns and reduced learning time. At present, we only discuss the four way movement of input patterns. The research for the complex movement will be fulfilled later.

  • 본 논문은 DC/DC 위상천이 풀브릿지 컨버터의 과도상태 개선을 위한 듀얼모드 제어를 제안한다. 기존의 discontinuous conduction mode (DCM)과 continuous conduction mode (CCM)을 이용하여 운용하는 위상천이 풀브릿지 컨버터는 각 모드의 상이한 전압게인의 특성을 고려하지 않아 급격한 로드 변동시 출력 전압의 언더슈트 혹은 오버슈트가 크게 발생한다. 제안하는 듀얼모드 제어는 DCM과 CCM 각 모드 별개로 제어가 적용되고 출력 전류의 변화에 대응하는 적응형 feed-forward 제어가 적용되어 컨버터의 과도상태를 개선할 수 있다. 듀얼모드의 제어 방법의 성능과 타당성을 시뮬레이션을 통해 입증한다.

  • In this paper, a bidirectional power supply charger is proposed. This system used a solar cell panel to generate electricity and used super capacitors to store these energies, which can be used for the robot cleaner or some other electronic products. This system include a phase-shift controlled bidirectional dual active bridge (DAB) converter, solar panel super capacitors and DSP controller. In the daytime it can charge to the super capacitors to store the energy generated by the solar cell panel and in the night it will release the energy stored in the super capacitors to loads. A prototype of the proposed bidirectional power supply charger system was designed which can achieve 18V to 30V input, 10V/20W output to super capacitors and 9V/6.5W output when it acts as a charger for the robot cleaner. The system is verified to be sTable and reliable by both the simulation and experimental results.

  • Electronic speckle contouring(ESC) is the optical method for measuring shape by using fringe-projection techniques in electronic speckle pattern interferometry. It has the advantage of being non-contacting and can also give a field view of the surface under investigation. Fringes in ESC represent the difference in depth along the view direction between the master wavefront and the test component. The contour maps of three-dimensional diffuse objects are obtained by small shifts of optical fiber carrying the dual-object-beams and 4-frame phase shift. We proposed the contouring method by shifting the collimated illumination beams through optical fiber in order to obtain the contour fringe patterns. And also, we performed addition of incremental addition of images and experiments based on it. we obtained both quantitative increment without decorrelation effect and qualitative improvement by reducing the noise of contour fringes.

  • Dual-layer differential codebook using 8-PSK (phase shift keying) constellation as its codeword elements, is proposed for Long term evolution (LTE) and/or LTE-Advanced systems. Due to the temporal correlation of the adjacent channel matrices, the consecutive precoding matrices are likely to be similar. This approach quantize only the differential information of the channel instead of the whole channel subspace, which virtually increase the codebook size to realize more accurate quantization of the channel. Especially, the proposed codebook has the same properties of LTE release-8 codebook that is, constant modulus, complexity reduction, and nested property. The mobile station can be designed by using less expensive non-linear amplifier utilizing constant modulus property. Computer simulations show that the capacity of the proposed dual-layer codebook performs almost 1.2dB better than those of any other non-differential codebooks with the same amount of feedback information.

Improved Rainfall Estimation Based on Corrected Radar Reflectivity in Partial Beam Blockage Area of S-band Dual-Polarization Radar (S밴드 이중편파레이더의 부분 빔 차폐영역 내 반사도 보정을 통한 지상강우추정 개선)

  • A correction method of reflectivity in partial beam blockage (PBB) area is suggested, which is based on the combination of digital terrain information and self-consistency principle between polarimetric observation. First, the reflectivity was corrected by adding the radar energy loss estimated from beam blockage simulation using digital elevation model (DEM) and beam propagation geometry in standard atmosphere. The additional energy loss by unexpected obstacles and non-standard beam propagation was estimated by using the coefficient between accumulated reflectivity ($Z_H$) and differences of differential phase shift (${\Phi}_{DP}$) along radial direction. The proposed method was applied to operational S-band dual-polarization radar at Jindo and its performance was compared with those of simulation method and self-consistency method for six rainfall cases. When the accumulated reflectivity and increment of ${\Phi}_{DP}$ along radial direction are too small, the self-consistency method has failed to correct the reflectivity while the combined method has corrected the reflectivity bias reasonably. The correction based on beam simulation showed the underestimation. For evaluation of rainfall estimation, the FBs (FRMSEs) of simulation method and self-consistency principle were -0.32 (0.59) and -0.30 (0.57), respectively. The proposed method showed the lowest FB (-0.24) and FRMSE (0.50). The FB and FMSE were improved by about 18% and by 19% in comparison to those before correction (-0.42 and 0.70). We can conclude that the proposed method can improve the accuracy of rainfall estimation in PBB area.
