  • Effect of coulomb friction and backlash on the single loop posit ion control has been studied for the precision position control. We studied and showed the limit cycle on the single loop system which used a ball screw that had the backlash. Also, We made an inner loop with a classical velocity and torque controller which was forcing the $i_d$ current to be zero by using a permanent-magnet synchronous motor and composed the outer loop with linear sensor for sensing a position of the loader. We have been shown a good result by using the dual loop through numerical simulation method.

  • 지폐 인식 자동화기기가 여러 분야에 보편화되면서 다양한 지폐를 고속으로 처리할 수 있는 고속지폐 인식 자동화 기기가 요구되고 있다. 하지만 대부분의 지폐 인식 자동화 기기가 고속화에 적합하지 않은 구조로 설계되어 있고 신권 추가가 용이하지 않다. 본 논문은 고속 Paper Currency 인식 시스템에 적합한 범용 하드웨어 시스템과 Bayes Rule 기반의 고속 인식 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 범용 하드웨어 구조는 고속의 CIS(Contact Image Sensor)와 DSP(Digital Signal Processor) 그리고 Dual Memory System으로 구성되었다. Bayes Rule에 기초한 고속 인식 알고리즘은 기존의 Paper Currency 인식 시스템에 사용되었던 기계학습 방법에 비해 신권 추가가 쉽고 적은 연산으로 권종을 판별할 수 있어 고속 지폐 인식 자동화기기에 적합하다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 방법들을 실제 자동화기기로 구현하여 그 유용성을 검증한다.

  • Vehicle clutch measurement for disc cushion variation was developed for the production of high quality Dual clutch transmissions. The developed device is composed of load cells for load measurement and LVDT for measuring the distance variation measurement in cushion variation. The servo motor-driven electric press for flexible loads that was developed was controlled by a PC-based HMI system, LabVIEW, and the device was able to continuously record real time measurement data with the accuracies of ${\pm}0.1\;kgf$ load and ${\pm}5{\mu}m$ cushion amount, which is far above the requirements of commercial vehicle standards.

Maximizing Network Utility and Network Lifetime in Energy-Constrained Ad Hoc Wireless Networks

  • This study considers a joint congestion control, routing and power control for energy-constrained wireless networks. A mathematical model is introduced which includes maximization of network utility, maximization of network lifetime, and trade-off between network utility and network lifetime. The framework would maximize the overall throughput of the network where the overall throughput depends on the data flow rates which in turn is dependent on the link capacities. The link capacity on the other hand is a function of transmit power levels and link Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise-Ratio (SINR) which makes the power allocation problem inherently difficult to solve. Using dual decomposition techniques, subgradient method, and logarithmic transformations, a joint algorithm for rate and power allocation problems was formulated. Numerical examples for each optimization problem were also provided.

  • In this paper, the swept source-optical coherence tomography system using frequency domain mode locked(FDML) laser has realized. The FDML swept source laser showed 55.03 kHz sweeping speed, 125 nm sweeping range, and 9 mW output optical power, which are the superiority of FDML laser compared to previous swept source lasers. Also, through the cross-sectional image captured at 5 frames per second for a mirror, a 1 mm-thickness glass plate, and a thumb bottom, the performance of the system has demonstrated.

  • The most basic form of a direct-drive linear motor is the voice coil motor(VCM). The voice coil motor employs a stationary permanent magnet field assembly in conjunction with a moving coil winding assembly to produce a force proportional to the current applied to the coil. Voice coil motor provide motion capable of extremely fine position sensitivity, limited only by the feedback sensor used to close the control loop. This paper presents dual-servo voice coil motor for improvement of driving range and position resolution. The voice coil motor is a cylindrical shape to improve reliability of a nanoindenter.

  • We describe a calibration method to improve the accuracy of interferometric snapshot spectroscopic ellipsometry employing a dual-spectrometer sensor scheme. Conventional spectral wavelength calibration of a spectrometer has been performed by using a calibration lamp having multiple peaks at specific wavelength. This paper shows that such a conventional spectrometer calibration method is inappropriate for the proposed interferometric snapshot spectroscopic ellipsometry to obtain highly accurate ellipsometric phase information. And also, systematic error analysis of interferometric snapshot spectroscopic ellipsometry is conducted experimentally.

  • 노령층의 증가로 인하여 독거 노인층이 점점 증가하고 있다. 독거 노인은 외부의 침입이나 갑작스런 건강상의 문제로 위험에 처해질 가능성이 매우 높다. 따라서 독거 노인의 의료복지에 대한 관심이 날로 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 독거 노인의 의료 복지에 적용할 수 있는 활동량 모니터링 시스템을 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 저 전력으로 동작하는 지그비 임베드 네트워크와 DTMF(Dual Tone Multi Frequency) 전화 시스템으로 구성되어, U-Health 케어 개념으로 활동량과 혈압 등의 인체 정보를 일상 생활 속에서 병원 및 보호자에게 전송할 수 있다. 또한 본 연구 결과는 미래의 독거 노인 원격진료 시스템에 적용될 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 입력전류를 센싱 받지 않아도 역률 보상을 하는 새로운 단일단 브리지리스 AC-DC컨버터를 제안한다. 제안하는 컨버터의 스위치는 전구간에서 ZVS(Zero Voltage Switching) 턴 온을 성취하며, 다이오드는 전구간에서 ZCS(Zero Current Switching) 턴 오프를 성취한다. 제안하는 컨버터의 넓은 범위의 출력전압 제어와 간단한 전력 제어를 위해 SDAB(Semi-Dual Active Bridge)기반의 모듈레이션 기법을 적용하였다. 1kW급 50kHz의 스위칭 주파수를 갖는 시작품을 통해 본 논문의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • Wireless sensor network (WSN) can be usefully used in battlefields requiring rapid installation and operation by enabling surveillance and reconnaissance using small sensors in areas where any existing network infrastructure is not formed. As WSN uses battery, energy efficiency acts as a very important issue in network survivability. Layer-based routing protocols have been studied a lot in the aspect of energy efficiency. Many research selected LEACH and PEGASIS protocols as their comparison targets. This study examines the two protocols and LECEEP, a protocol designed by combining their advantages, and proposes a new protocol, A-LECEEP, which is more energy efficient than the others. The proposed protocol can increase energy efficiency compared to the existing ones by eliminating unnecessary transmissions with multiple chains configuration.
