  • For visual navigation, mobile robot can use a stereo camera which has large field of view. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to detect and recognize human face on the basis of such camera system. In this paper, a new coarse to fine detection algorithm is proposed. For coarse detection, nearly face-like areas are found in entire image using dual ellipse templates. And, detailed alignment of facial outline and features is performed on the basis of view- based multiple appearance model.   • 본 논문에서 제안하는 시스템은 Ladle 나탕의 상태를 카메라를 사용하여 Ladle 탕면을 관측하고 획득한 영상데이터를 주조정장치로 보내게 되는데, 이러한 영상데이터를 보내기 위해서는 유선 송수신 방식은 Ladle의 회전 특성상 사용하지 못하므로 무선 송수신 방식을 사용한다. 또한 초고온 환경이므로 고온에 견딜 수 있도록 Housing 기술을 이용한 Dual 영상카메라 장착 관측시스템을 구축하고, 탕면 거리, 버블 영상 등을 통해 그 크기를 산출하는 알고리듬을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리듬에 따라 20분의 연주시간에 대하여 19.25Cm의 지름을 가친 Bubble의 크기를 계산할 수 있었다.

Structured Light 기법을 이용한 이동 로봇의 상대 위치 추정 알고리즘 연구 (A Study on the Relative Localization Algorithm for Mobile Robots using a Structured Light Technique)

  • This paper describes a relative localization algorithm using odometry data and consecutive local maps. The purpose of this paper is the odometry error correction using the area matching of two consecutive local maps. The local map is built up using a sensor module with dual laser beams and USB camera. The range data form the sensor module is measured using the structured lighting technique (active stereo method). The advantage in using the sensor module is to be able to get a local map at once within the camera view angle. With this advantage, we propose the AVS (Aligned View Sector) matching algorithm for. correction of the pose error (translational and rotational error). In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm, experiments are performed in real environment.

Gamma Camera Based FDG PET in Oncology

  • Positron Emission Tomography(PET) was introduced as a research tool in the 1970s and it took about 20 years before PET became an useful clinical imaging modality. In the USA, insurance coverage for PET procedures in the 1990s was the turning point, I believe, for this progress. Initially PET was used in neurology but recently more than 80% of PET procedures are in oncological applications. I firmly believe, in the 21st century, one can not manage cancer patients properly without PET and PET is very important medical imaging modality in basic and clinical sciences. PET is grouped into 2 categories : conventional(c) and gamma camera $based_{(CB)}$ PET. $_{CB}PET$ is more readily available utilizing dual-head gamma cameras and commercially available FDG to many medical centers at low cost to patients. In fact there are more $_{CB}PET$ in operation than cPET in the USA. $_{CB}PET$ is inferior to cPET in its performance but clinical studies in oncology is feasible without expensive infrastructures such as staffing, rooms and equipments. At Ajou university Hospital, CBPET was installed in late 1997 for the first time in Korea as well as in Asia and the system has been used successfully and effectively in oncological applications. Ours was the fourth PET operation in Korea and I believe this may have been instrumental for other institutions got interested in clinical PET. The fellowing is a brief description of our clinical experience of FDG CBPET in oncology.

  • In the contemporary world, the breakthrough of the ultra-modern technologies has been blessed with the camera. This device has become omnipresent either integrated on with other devices such as smartphones, notebooks, laptops, handheld devices and so on. In addition, digital signage, display and monitors have also become very widespread around us everywhere. These types of scenarios have made imaginable to imagine about the consuming of the unused resources. The dual use of displayed contents can make it possible to use it as an advertisement as well as a transmitter for camera based communication. In this study, a digital watermarking algorithm based communication method has been analyzed. We have introduced Binary Pattern (BP) based a new message extracting algorithm to extract message in an efficient way from the watermarked image compared to other algorithms. Besides, the previous works using camera and display have been illustrated using comparative analysis. This paper has demonstrated an advantageous overview using the experimental results which reveals that the proposed methodology significantly reduces the complexity while augmenting the advantages of the proposed scheme. Moreover, the simulation results have shown the advantages of the proposed scheme over the other schemes.

  • 최근 열상장비의 수요가 점차 증가하고 있으며, 고성능 고밀도 적외선 검출기의 개발이 진전되면서 고 분해능 열상카메라의 개발이 가속화되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 8$\mu\textrm{m}$~12$\mu\textrm{m}$ 파장대역에서 두 가지로 배율전환이 가능한 열상카메라를 설계하고 이에 대한 광학계의 민감도(sensitivity)를 분석하였다. 민감도 분석이란 이론적으로 설계된 광학계에 인위적으로 제작 및 조립상의 오차를 발생시켜서 광학계의 성능 변화를 예측하고 해석하는 일이다. (중략)

  • A light field (LF) is a field for expressing the intensity and direction of light reflected from a subject in a 3D space. Dual LF cameras are equipped in smart phones in Korea, mainly those by Samsung and LG. Lytro, Apple, Nvidia, MIT Media Lab, Magic Lip, and NHK are also developing LF camera technologies. LF displays are being researched by ETRI, Samsung Electronics, KIST, KAIST, SNU, MIT Media Lab, USC, HP, Apple, Microsoft, SeeReal, Musion Eyeliner, Dimenco, and Holografika.

  • 본 논문에서는 입체영상 기법과 파노라마 영상 기술을 접목한 입체 파노라마 영상을 애너그리프 방식의 실린더 형태로 구현할 때, 애너그리프 합성 후 파노라마 스티칭 하는 방법과 파노라마 스티칭 후 애너그리프 합성하는 방식 두 가지로 각각 구현 해보고, 두 결과 영상의 Depth map 을 생성하여 입체감 형성 정도 및 왜곡 정도를 분석한다.

  • 영상 관제 시스템을 구성할 때 카메라 감시영역 간의 중첩된 영역이 발생한다. 이러한 중첩된 영역을 설정해놓고 카메라를 서로 연동시킬 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 와이드뷰 카메라와 PTZ 카메라의 연동에 의한 실시간 오브젝트 트래킹 시스템을 구현하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 다수의 카메라의 연동으로 확장될 수 있다.
