  • Drone-mounted hyperspectral sensors (DHSs) have revolutionized remote sensing in agriculture by offering a cost-effective and flexible platform for high-resolution spectral data acquisition. Their ability to capture data at low altitudes minimizes atmospheric interference, enhancing their utility in agricultural monitoring and management. This study focused on addressing the challenges of radiometric and geometric distortions in preprocessing drone-acquired hyperspectral data. Radiometric correction, using the empirical line method (ELM) and spectral reference panels, effectively removed sensor noise and variations in solar irradiance, resulting in accurate surface reflectance values. Notably, the ELM correction improved reflectance for measured reference panels by 5-55%, resulting in a more uniform spectral profile across wavelengths, further validated by high correlations (0.97-0.99), despite minor deviations observed at specific wavelengths for some reflectors. Geometric correction, utilizing a rubber sheet transformation with ground control points, successfully rectified distortions caused by sensor orientation and flight path variations, ensuring accurate spatial representation within the image. The effectiveness of geometric correction was assessed using root mean square error(RMSE) analysis, revealing minimal errors in both east-west(0.00 to 0.081 m) and north-south directions(0.00 to 0.076 m).The overall position RMSE of 0.031 meters across 100 points demonstrates high geometric accuracy, exceeding industry standards. Additionally, image mosaicking was performed to create a comprehensive representation of the study area. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of the applied preprocessing techniques and highlight the potential of DHSs for precise crop health monitoring and management in smart agriculture. However, further research is needed to address challenges related to data dimensionality, sensor calibration, and reference data availability, as well as exploring alternative correction methods and evaluating their performance in diverse environmental conditions to enhance the robustness and applicability of hyperspectral data processing in agriculture.

  • This study examines the history of Korean aviation industry and presents the investment strategy based on the evidence and the 4th industrial revolution. Looking at the evolution of the Korean aviation industry and its technological development will be a great help to support industrial and technological innovation in the future. The modern aviation industry is divided into stages of development, focusing on maintenance of equipment introduced in advanced countries, localization through license assembly, production of products based on technology, and international joint development. The development of aeronautics technology has been progressing towards a general improvement of economic efficiency, aircraft safety efficiency through environmental-friendliness, unmanned operation, and downsizing. The Korea Aerospace Research Institute has secured key technologies through development of several aircrafts such as Experimental Aircraft Kachi, EXPO Unmanned Airship, Twin-engine Composite Aircraft, Canard Aircraft, Multi-Purpose Stratosphere unmanned-airship, Medium Aerostats, Smart UAV, Surion, EAV-2H, KC-100, and OPV. The development strategy is discussed at the level of the evidence-based investment strategy that is currently being discussed, and so the investment priorities in aircraft is high. Current drone usage and development direction are not only producing parts using 3D printer, but also autonomous flight, communication (IoT, 5G), information processing (big data, machine learning). Therefore, the aviation industry is expected to lead the fourth industrial revolution.

  • This study analyzes the current status and prospects of Iran's air defense network, focusing on the Russian-made S-300 system, and derives implications for the development of South Korea's air defense network. Iran's air defense network exhibits strengths such as long-range detection and interception capabilities, multi-target processing, high-altitude interception, and electronic warfare response. However, it also reveals weaknesses, including lack of mobility, difficulty in detecting low-altitude targets, obsolescence, training level of operating personnel, and vulnerability to electronic warfare. Real-world cases confirm these weaknesses, making the system susceptible to enemy evasion tactics, swarm drone attacks, and electronic warfare. Drawing from Iran's case, South Korea should establish a multi-layered defense system, strengthen low-altitude air defense and electronic warfare capabilities, foster the domestic defense industry for technological self-reliance, and enhance international cooperation. By addressing these aspects, South Korea can establish a robust air defense network and firmly protect its national security. Future research should aim to secure and analyze materials from the Iranian perspective for a more objective evaluation of Iran's air defense network and continuously track Iran's efforts to improve its air defense network and the trend of strengthening drone forces to predict changes in the Middle East security situation.

  • In the recent farming industry, there is a growing diffusion of drones, which are recognized as a crucial technology of the 4 th industrial revolution to cope with aging. Especially, filming and pest control using drones are representative fields that have different age groups for obtaining a national license of multicopter that is a ultra-light flying device, and can create profits after getting a license. However, pest control technology using drones has different spray effects depending on levels of operational proficiency, since this highly relies on an operator's operating skills. It is anticipated that if this issue is supplemented, the use of drones for pest control in the farming industry will diversify. For analysis of spraying characteristics of agricultural pest control drones, this study aims to formulate effective spraying hours and effective spraying intervals and suggest an algorithm, which facilitates an accurate calculation of pest control area depending on the kinds of pest control drones. This algorithm can be used in the field of pest control by improving scatterling issues caused by drone flight methods of drone pest controllers and building an optimum pest control manual in future.

  • Globally, owing to the rapid expansion of radio stations overseas, the frequency coordination system is managed as a preconditioning system. As a result, it is predicted that many types of radio stations will be established for domestic purposes, such as 5G, low-power IoT devices with long distance, based on licenses and non-license in the future. Many problems such as unnecessary launching of radio resources and spectrum-sharing technology exist, and it is necessary to consider the introduction of the abovementioned system and other plan system. In this paper, we explore the outline of radio station licensing and introduce the contents of the survey on another industry licensing. The plans were studied by discussing problems that may occur in future, through comparative analysis of radio stations and other industry licensing. Moreover, the differences were compared and analyzed using graphs. Finally, we discussed the problems convergence products such as drone may offer in the future.

  • In this study, topographic change analysis was performed on the Nak-dong River estuary area. The factors affecting the changes in the bathymetry of the Nak-dong River estuary were analyzed using data from the discharge, suspended sediments, and rainfall of the Nak-dong River barrier as analysis data. As a result, erosion and sedimentation are judged to appear repeatedly due to complex effects such as discharge of the estuary barrier of the Nak-dong River and invasion of the open sea waves, and it is judged that there is no one-sided tendency. However, as a result of checking the data in the second half of 2020, it was possible to confirm a large amount of erosion, which is different from the past data. It is clear that this is a result beyond the trend of erosion in the first half and sedimentation in the second half. In the summer of 2020, the rainy season lasted for more than a month and torrential rains occurred, which seems to be due to about three times higher rainfall than other periods, and erosion is believed to have occurred as the discharge increased rapidly compared to the time deposited by river water outflow. In addition, compared to other times, the influence of many typhoons in the summer of 2020 is believed to have affected the topographical change at the mouth of the Nak-dong River.

  • The stratospheric drones are developed to perform missions such as weather observation, communication relay, surveillance, and reconnaissance at 18km to 20km, where climate change is minimal and there is no worry about a collision with aircraft. It uses solar panels for daytime flights and energy stored in batteries for night flights, providing many advantages over existing satellites. The electrical and power systems essential for stratospheric drone flight must ensure reliability, efficiency, and lightness by selecting the optimal circuit topology. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the circuit topology of various types of multi-level inverters with high redundancy that can ensure the reliability and efficiency of the motor driving power required for stable long-term flight of stratospheric drones. By quantifying the switch element voltage drop and the number and weight of inverter components for each topology, we evaluate efficiency and lightness and propose the most suitable circuit topology for stratospheric drones.

  • We consider the problem of autonomously flying a quadcopter in indoor environments. Navigation in indoor settings poses two major issues. First, real time recognition of the marker captured by the camera. Second, The combination of the distributed images is used to determine the position and orientation of the quadcopter in an indoor environment. We autonomously fly a miniature RC quadcopter in small known environments using an on-board camera as the only sensor. We use an algorithm that combines data-driven image classification with image-combine techniques on the images captured by the camera to achieve real 3D localization and navigation.
