This study examines the power generation characteristics of a vehicle rooftop photovoltaic module with urban driving conditions. Actual test data with an illuminometer and a thermometer were used to analyze the power generation characteristics of the vehicle rooftop photovoltaic module. In addition, the power generation characteristics were analyzed in terms of urban driving conditions, irradiance, ambient temperature, and photovoltaic module temperature. This study also analyzes the power generation characteristics of the vehicle rooftop photovoltaic module with urban driving conditions through a wavelet transform filtering method. The power generation characteristics of the vehicle rooftop photovoltaic module with urban driving conditions depend on the change in irradiance rather than that in photovoltaic module temperature.
In this paper, we manufactured high flux LED module with Through Hole type. and we measured electrical, optical and thermal properties by driving type. LED module was composed with 8*8 arrangement form by using the glass epoxy PCB. Also, we measured the most suitable driving type with static voltage driving type and static current driving type. As a result, the LED Module of static voltage driving type showed high luminance characteristic than the static current driving type by suppling enough bias. However, the static current driving type showed more stable driving properties because of fast decreasing properties about brightness by increasing the surrounding temperature in the static voltage driving type. Also, due to Quantum confined Stark effect from piezoelectric field, the wavelength of bule peak shifted to long wavelength direction by increasing the surrounding temperature in the static voltage driving type.
Display devices are becoming increasingly important as an interface between humans and machines in the growing information society. In display devices, PDP (Plasma Display Panel) has many advantages in that it has wide screen, wide viewing angle and is light weight, thin. In PDP driving method, if the brightness of input image is high, applying the fixed sustain pulse to the PDP panel will raise the PDP power consumption and may damages the PDP panel. To overcome these problems, the Plasma AI driving method was introduced by the Matshushita co. in Japan. The Plasma AI driving module calculates the peak value and average value of 1 frame image and adjusts the gradation and sustain pulses for 1 frame sustain. In this paper, the proposed PDP driving module is based on the Plasma AI driving module. The proposed driving module calculates peak value and average value, and the brightness distribution of 1 frame image. Using brightness distribution, the proposed driving module divides 1 frame input image into 15 image patterns. For each image pattern, minimum sustain pulses and sub-frames are used for the brightness of 1 frame image and the sustain weight for 64, 128, 192 gradation is proposed. Therefore, the sustain power consumption can be reduced.

A current autonomous vehicle determines its driving strategy by considering only external factors (Pedestrians, road conditions, etc.) without considering the interior condition of the vehicle. To solve the problem, this paper proposes "An Optimal Driving Support Strategy(ODSS) based on an Genetic Algorithm for Autonomous Vehicles" which determines the optimal strategy of an autonomous vehicle by analyzing not only the external factors, but also the internal factors of the vehicle(consumable conditions, RPM levels etc.). The proposed ODSS consists of 4 modules. The first module is a Data Communication Module (DCM) which converts CAN, FlexRay, and HSCAN messages of vehicles into WAVE messages and sends the converted messages to the Cloud and receives the analyzed result from the Cloud using V2X. The second module is a Data Management Module (DMM) that classifies the converted WAVE messages and stores the classified messages in a road state table, a sensor message table, and a vehicle state table. The third module is a Data Analysis Module (DAM) which learns a genetic algorithm using sensor data from vehicles stored in the cloud and determines the optimal driving strategy of an autonomous vehicle. The fourth module is a Data Visualization Module (DVM) which displays the optimal driving strategy and the current driving conditions on a vehicle monitor. This paper compared the DCM with existing vehicle gateways and the DAM with the MLP and RF neural network models to validate the ODSS. In the experiment, the DCM improved a loss rate approximately by 5%, compared with existing vehicle gateways. In addition, because the DAM improved computation time by 40% and 20% separately, compared with the MLP and RF, it determined RPM, speed, steering angle and lane changes faster than them.

We reported the algorithm of driving scheme that enhances moving picture property by improving gray-to-gray response time. Here, we report result of simulation for estimation of driving voltage to reduce response time, and experimental result. We investigated optimization of algorithm so that minimum size of LUT can support to reducing the gray-to-gray response time within 1 frame period, and with single algorithm it is possible to apply the algorithm to various kinds of LC material. So in our system there is no external EEPROM.
In this paper, we have developed a module that prevents a driver from using mobile phone while driving. The module is equipped with a vibration sensor to determine if the vehicle is running, a BLE module to transmit the status of the module and a speaker to transmit audible/unaudible sound to the mobile terminal where GUI application is installed. If the vehicle is judged to be moving, the application is activated and the touch function of the mobile phone is blocked. Other data are also transmitted depending on the state of the module, which informs forced module removal, battery failure, or sleep mode of the module.
In this paper, we were confirmed the optical characteristics of LED module by changing ambient temperature and driving current. When we supplied same driving current, the brightness quality drops due to an increased ambient temperature. The difference of brightness properties came out more large according to an increased driving current. Moreover, peak wavelength become shifted by long wavelength and declined output power by increasing driving current.
This paper represents an adaptive Region of Interest (ROI) decision for real-time performance in an autonomous driving perception module. Since the whole automated driving system consists of numerous modules and subdivisions of module occur, it is necessary to consider the characteristics, complexity, and limitations of each module. Furthermore, Light Detection And Ranging (Lidar) sensors require a considerable amount of time. In view of these limitations, division of submodule is inevitable to represent high real-time performance for stable system. This paper proposes ROI to reduce the number of data respect to computation time. ROI is set by a road's design speed and the corresponding ROI is applied differently to each vehicle considering its speed. The simulation model is constructed by ROS, and overall data analysis is conducted by Matlab. The algorithm is validated using real-time driving data in urban environment, and the result shows that ROI provides low computational costs.
Finite element analyses are carried out to provide results usable in the design of airbag module that consists of inflater, cushion, cover, mounting plate, etc. In the first phase, a deployment process of airbag module is analyzed to evaluate the pressure waveform of developed airbag and deployment characteristics, and is compared with the test results. Interaction between head form and inflated airbag module is investigated in the second phase. In the last stage, sled test with rigid dummy, airbag midule, driving system and car interior part are simulated to investigate the influence of airbag design factor on the behavior of dummy with seat belt. The procedures can be provided as a guideline for airbag module design and improvement of airbag module performance.
