This article proposes a new technique for the reduction of vibration and noise in the geared system by adjusting the distance between gear shafts. The vibration and noise may be produced by the abnormal force applied to the tooth face. And the force may be the cause of ununiform velocity in the driven shaft. If the velocity is obtained to be uniform by adjusting the distance between shafts. the vibration and noise may be reduced to some extent. In order to review, a dynamic analysis model for the gear train used in a mill turret and a test rig are developed. The velocities in the driven shaft are calculated by dynamic simulations for the model and noises in the test rig are measured with varying of the distance between shafts. The comparison of simulation and test data shows that the distance between shafts at the most uniform velocity has the lowest level of noise.
The Vibration signals of a gear driving system is often associated with gear tooth faults. Many studies have been done on the detection of impulsive vibration signals, which characterize the breaka ge of a gear tooth. Also, most of the studies on gear fault diagnosis are only about the fault existence at one gear-pair. This study concerns on the several possible faults of a geared motor that has three gear pairs. The measurement and analysis on the vibration signals of a running geared motor shows the relationship between the gear faults and the vibration signals. This study also shows that adaptive interference canceling technique can be appropriately applicable to detect which gear-pair has the fault, and that wavelet is better than spectrogram to figure out the gear fault.
Selection of gear reduction ratio is essential for machine design to ensure suitable power and speed during agricultural operations. The goal of the study was to evaluate the gear reduction ratio for a 1.6 kW four-wheel-drive (4WD) multi-purpose agricultural electric vehicle platform using workload data under different off-road conditions. A data acquisition system was fabricated to collect workload (torque) of the vehicle acting on the gear shaft. Field tests were performed under three driving surfaces (asphalt, concrete, and grassland), payload operations (981, 2,942, and 4,903 N), and slope conditions (0 - 4°, 4 - 8°, and 8 - 12°), respectively. Commercial speed reduction gear phases were attached to the input shaft of the vehicle powertrain. The maximum required torque was recorded as 37.5 Nm at a 4,903 N load with 8 - 12° slope levels, and the minimum torque was 12.32 Nm at 0 - 4° slope levels with a 981 Nm load for a 4 km/h speed on asphalt, concrete, and grassland roads. Based on the operating load condition and motor torque and rotational speed (TN) curve, the minimum and maximum gear reduction ratios were chosen as 1 : 50 and 1 : 64, respectively. The selected motor satisfied power requirements by meeting all working torque criteria with the gear reduction ratios. The chosen motor with a gear reduction ratio of 1 : 50 was suitable to fit with the motor T-N curve, and produced the maximum speeds and loads needed for driving and off-road activities. The findings of the study would assist in choosing a suitable gear reduction ratio for electric vehicle multi-purpose field operations.
The stable driving condition of high speed gear is approached by shape modifications of a gear tooth. Recently, many gear designers are using FEM for the design and the manufacture of a high precision gear. In this paper, it is aimed to drive in stable sound level through the modification of the tooth and the shape of a gear. The simulation is used to understand the effect of holes for the decrement of weight and the stress variation for the tooth modification. Beam elements used to simulate the same condition as a real gear drive by FEM. The driven gear is simulated to 60,000rpm for the tooth modification.
The wear particles is released from the moving surfaces in gear systems of transmission and its morphology is directly related to the damage and failure to gear system from which the particles originated. It is the effective method for damage condition estimation of automobile transmission gear to observe wear debris in gear oil. We tested with new transmission and took out gear oil according to driving distance. To be applied to damage condition of gear system in transmission of automobile,4 shape parameters of wear particles in gear oil were calculated and wear volume were presumed with the image processing system.
The characteristics of vibration and sound signals which occurs at the driving system of electric train are investigated in this study since the vibration of driving system is one of the main sources of vibration and sound in electric train. The vibration signals are changed its signal patterns during the transmission from the source to passengers due to noise or several unknown factors. To avoid the complexity of actual signals of electric train, signals from experimental apparatus of motor/gear driving system are analyzed to find the appropriate method of analysis and to characterize the signal patterns. The used methods are waterfall diagram, transfer function and modal analysis. The results shows that the vibration signals are usually originated from motor bearing and gear meshing and these signals are transmitted to bottom or bogie. Also, the sound signal is similar to the vibration of bottom or bogie, but it is not so clear to figure out the source of vibration.
Conventional method to transform vehicle driving condition to engine operation mode is to use vehicle road load under neutral gear and mechanical efficiency of drivetrain. But this method requires additional measurement of efficiency of drivetrain on a test rig. And this measurement is normally done at fixed speed and thus estimated accuracy of engine operation mode is not considered to be high enough. This study suggests new method to calculate engine operation mode for prescribed driving mode such as NEDC using vehicle coastdown test under gear engaged condition without measurement of mechanical efficiency of drivetrain. Coastdown test was done under neutral and gear engaged condition for comparison and also trial to extract mechanical loss of drivetrain was carried out. Calculated engine torque by conventional and newly suggested method was compared with actually measured torque of a vehicle on a chassis dynamometer during NEDC. Newly suggested method showed slightly higher accuracy of accumulated brake work during NEDC.
Using a magnetic gear, the speed and torque of the driving axis can be decreased and increased, respectively, similar to a mechanical speed reducer. In particular, because the driving side can be isolated mechanically from the load side, the magnetic gear was developed for application with environmental constraints. Of the existing topologies used for the magnet gear, the filtering method of a specified magnetic component is the most competitive. In this paper, a novel unified harmonic modulator is applied to filter the specified component. The torque conversion method using this modulator is described in detail, and the key factors of the modulator are derived from the influence on the resulting torque. The experimental setup was constructed and its torque transmission efficiency measured for varying loads. The transient characteristic from an excessive load is compared with the theoretical simulation.
Even through the problem of misalignment is of great importance, not much work has been reported in the literature on the effect of misalignment on the vibrations of the gear-bearing systems. Therefore, the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of the gear drive system due to misalignment are investigated in this work. Transmission error for helical gear and bearing nonlinear stiffness is calculated. The equation of motion of the gear drive system is modelled using the time-varying gear meshing stiffness, bearing nonlinear stiffness, and bearing pre-load due to the housing deformation. Numerical analysis lot the gear drive system show the result of misalignment effect - sub-harmonic component, bearing pre-load effect, and another nonlinear phenomenon. And the numerical analysis are verified by the experimental result.
Reduction Gear Box where from productive site uses the gear with power delivery with high mechanical efficiency of power a deceleration and as the mechanical element union product which has the velocity ratio which is various together is produced with the power occurrence motor and leads gets a high driving force is plentifully used. The above occurs from gear drive issue sound Whine, Noise and Vibration as occurring from the rim process which the gear will bite mainly is delivered with the case etc. gear drive whole which leads the axis and the bearing. The productivity falls with the going straight rate decrease which with like this problem point is caused by with rework the problem point where the cost of production rises under improving boil many kinds analyzed the plan and investigates the resultant acceleration sensor which and a frequency analysis system and was made to apply.
