유조선의 상태평가계획 검사를 위한 이동로봇의 개발 (Development of Mobile Robot for CAS inspection of Oil Tanker)

  • It is dangerous that an inspector overhauls defects and condition of the inner parts of an oil tanker because of many harmful gases, complex structures, and etc. However, these inspections are necessary to many oil tankers over old years. In this study, we proposed the design of mobile robot for inspection of CAS in oil tanker. The developed CAS inspection mobile robot has four modules, a measurement module of oil tanker's thickness, a corrosion inspection module, a climbing module of the surface on a wall, and a monitoring module. In order to get over at a check position, the driving control algorithm was developed. Magnetic wheels are used to move on the surface of a wall. This study constructed a communication network and the monitoring program to operate the developed mobile robot from remote sites. In order to evaluate the inspection ability, the experiments about performance of CAS inspection using the developed mobile robot have been carried out.

Comparison of TDC Circuit Design Method to Constant Delay Time

  • This paper describes the design method of Time-to-Digital Converter(TDC) to obtain the constant delay time and good reliability. The reliability property is described with delay elements. In TDC the time signal is converted to digital value which is based on delay elements for the time interpolation. To obtain the constant delay time, the first and the last delay elements have different structure compared to the middle delay elements. In the first and the last delay elements, the driving ability could be controlled for the different delay time. The delay element can be designed by analog and digital devices. The delay time of the element using analog devices is not sensitive to process parameters than that of the element using digital devices. And the TDC circuit by the elements using analog devices shows better reliability than that by the elements using digital devices also.

  • The switched reluctance motor(SRM) drive system provides a good adjustable speed and torque characteristics. However, it also has some drawbacks such as relatively high torque ripple and acoustic noise which are caused by the torque production mechanism. To reduce torque ripple and to have precise speed control, PLL technique is adopted. The PLL system in conjunction with dynamic dwell angle control scheme has good speed regulation characteristics. Digital control system with a 80c196kc micro-controller is used to be realized this drive system. Test results show that the suggested control system has the ability of dynamic and precise speed control.

Electrothermal Analysis for Super-Junction TMOSFET with Temperature Sensor

  • For a conventional power metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET), there is a trade-off between specific on-state resistance and breakdown voltage. To overcome this trade-off, a super-junction trench MOSFET (TMOSFET) structure is suggested; within this structure, the ability to sense the temperature distribution of the TMOSFET is very important since heat is generated in the junction area, thus affecting its reliability. Generally, there are two types of temperature-sensing structures-diode and resistive. In this paper, a diode-type temperature-sensing structure for a TMOSFET is designed for a brushless direct current motor with on-resistance of $96m{\Omega}{\cdot}mm^2$. The temperature distribution for an ultra-low on-resistance power MOSFET has been analyzed for various bonding schemes. The multi-bonding and stripe bonding cases show a maximum temperature that is lower than that for the single-bonding case. It is shown that the metal resistance at the source area is non-negligible and should therefore be considered depending on the application for current driving capability.

  • Nowadays, there are required more speed and accurate machining in order to improve the productivity through the reduction of cutting and non-cutting time. In this study, the high-speed HMC is specially designed to do remote control and high-speed mechanism with 30000rpm, 50000rpm, 40m/min, 100m/min and bridge type structure. Every structural deformation and vibration that is generated from all of factor is analyzed being based on the virtual manufacturing technologies: thermal characteristic analysis, machine-ability, tool wear measuring system, driving characteristic of linear motor and so on. As the application of these results had been consisted of three axes to move slight and rigid finally. Therefore, table errors that are resulted in change of work weight can be removed.

  • This paper describes current controlled PWM technique of PM synchronous motors for a wide variety of speed control applications. They are however limited in their ability to operate in the power limited regime where the available torque is reduced as the speed is increased above its base value. This paper reviews the operation of the PMSM drives when they are constrained to be within the permissible envelope of maximum inverter voltage and current to produce the rated power and to provide this with the highest attainable rotor speed. The optimal field-weakening control algorithm is the use of phase current and d-axis current feedback to reduce of error between the d-axis current command and real current and to improve the torque characteristics. The improved torque characteristics of speed control strategy with optimal field weakening control algorithm is analyzed and the performance is investigated by the computer simulation and experimental results.   • U-Channel Bridge is effective bridge type, because its edge beam performs role of barrier and enables to reduce additional dead loads. Nevertheless, there is possibility of bridge collapse under impact load due to car crash. Also, edge beam must have ability to induce safe driving and prevent falling accidents. Therefore, this study carries out analysis of behavior of edge beam and slab and evaluation of structural stability under impact loads, based on Korean Highway Bridge Design Specifications and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification. According to analysis result, the maximum stress of edge beam and slab satisfies specification of allowable stress.

  • We have studied new hole blocking layer for effective organic light emitting diodes. The device having a structure of ITO/2TNATA/$\alpha$-NPD/DPVBi : Rubrene(0.7%)/DPVBi/New Hole Blocking layer or BCP/$Alq_3$/LiF/Al has been used. The driving voltage of OLED with BCP(2,9-dimethyl-4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline) or New HBL were 5.5V and 4.4V, respectively. As a result, new HBL rather than BCP has a good hole blocking ability.

  • Piezoelectricity is defined as the ability of certain materials to produce electric signals when mechanically stressed or to deform when an electrical potential is applied. Piezo technology is becoming increasingly crucial as intelligent devices use vibration sensors to detect vibrations in consumer electronics, the automotive industry, architectural design, and other applications. A wide range of applications is now possible with piezoelectric sensors, such as skin-attachable devices that monitor health and detect diseases. In this article, copper nanoparticles are used in the piezoelectric sensor as the driving agent of the magnetic field. Magnetic nanocatalysts containing copper nanoparticles are used due to their cheapness and availability. Considering that the increase of the electric field acting on the piezoelectric increases the damping (As a result, damping materials reduce radiation noise and increase material transfer losses by altering the natural vibration frequency of the vibrating surface). Among the advantages of this method are depreciating a significant amount of input energy using high energy absorption capacity and controlling slight vibrations in the sensors.

  • A study on the need for a safety system using driver's biometric information, vehicle automatic emergency braking system, and the e-call system that in the event of an unexpected situation such as loss of driving ability due to sudden physical abnormality of elderly drivers and drivers with health problems, and the improvement of laws for the spread of this system were studied.
