Actual Situation Analysis of Walking Environment in Chongqing, China - Case Studies of First Experimental Elementary School and Zaozilanya Elementary School -

  • This study is about the investigation of the walking environment of the First Experimental Elementary School in Shapingba District of Chongqing City and the Zaozilanya Elementary School in Yuzhong District and the analysis of the pedestrian's consciousness. The improvement plan is obtained by comparing and analyzing the walking environment around the school. The survey results are as follows. According to the survey results of the walking environment around the school, the sidewalks of the two schools are relatively narrow, and there are more pedestrians crossing the road. There is a phenomenon of parking in both schools. The phenomenon of parking in Zaozilanya Elementary School is even more serious. In investigating the most important elements of the school's pedestrian environment, the setting of the signpost, the setting of the crosswalk and signal lights, the setting of the fence, the setting of the vehicle's deceleration facilities, and the control of the school gate are all necessary. Therefore, in order to create a safe and comfortable improvement plan for the surrounding environment of the school, first of all, in the improvement of the facilities around the school, the setting of the fence, the setting of the speed bump, the improvement of the crosswalk and the signal light. Second, in terms of restrictions, the scope of protection around the school needs to be expanded, and restrictions on parking and restrictions on vehicle traffic need to be implemented. Third, in terms of education and publicity, it is not only necessary to provide safety guidance for students to go to school, but also to provide drivers with driving safety education and publicity.

Development of Caravan Sway Reduction System using the Hitch Angle Control Algorithm (히치 각도 제어 알고리즘을 통한 카라반 스웨이 저감 장치 개발)

  • Caravans are easily affected by external physical factors and often cause dangerous situations for passengers. Therefore, in order to secure the stability of the passenger, there is a need to develop a sway reduction device capable of preventing the sway phenomenon in advance. This paper aims to minimize the hitch angle between the tow vehicle and the caravan. Specifically, the initial instability of the caravan is detected through an IMU sensor mounted on each of the tow vehicle and the caravan, and a control value is calculated to reduce errors from the Hitch angle and Hitch yaw rate using a PID controller. Different braking torques are generated, distributed, and controlled on the left and right brakes of the caravan according to the calculated control value. It could be verified through the driving experiment that the hitch angle was decreased compared to the case where the performance of the sway reduction device was not controlled, and the transverse stability improvement rate was improved by 94.49% compared to before control.

  • With the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, education on artificial intelligence is one of the important topics. However, since existing education is aimed at knowledge, it is not suitable for developing the active problem-solving ability and AI utilization ability required by artificial intelligence education. To solve this problem, we proposes PBL-based education method in which learners learn in the process of solving the presented problem. The problem presented to the learner is a completed project. This project consists of three types: a classification model, the training data of the classification model, and the block code to be executed according to the classified result. The project works, but each component is designed to perform a low level of operation. In order to solve this problem, the learners can expect to improve their computational thinking skills by finding problems in the project through testing, finding solutions through discussion, and improving to a higher level of operation.

  • The current road traffic signal controller developed in the 1990s has limitations in flexibility and scalability due to power supply problems, various communication methods, and hierarchical black box structures for various equipment and devices installed to improve traffic safety for road users and autonomous cooperative driving. In this paper, we designed a road traffic safety facilities equipment and devices integrated management system that can cope with the rapidly changing future traffic environment by solving the using direct current(DC) and power supply problem through the power over ethernet(PoE) technology and centralized data-driven control through message broker technology. In addition, a data-driven real-time control method for road traffic safety facilities equipment and devices operating based on time series data was implemented and verified.

Study on Obstacle Avoidance Algorithm of Autonomous Mobile Robots Using Infrared Sensor and Camera (적외선센서와 카메라를 이용한 자율주행로봇의 장애물회피 알고리즘 연구)

  • This paper proposes an algorithm for autonomous mobile robots to effectively navigate obstacles. In order to detect obstacles infrared sensors and cameras are employed. The infrared sensor is utilized to calculate the distance to obstacles while the captured images from the camera are used to determine the width of obstacles. To compute obstacle width, binary image processing, contour detection, and the minimum area rectangle technique are employed. Using the distance to obstacles and obstacle width, the avoidance angle is calculated, and this angle is incorporated into steering control. The proposed obstacle avoidance algorithm was implemented on an autonomous robot, and experimental results demonstrated a maximum reduction in avoidance time by 8.5 seconds compared to using only infrared sensors when the obstacle width is 30cm.

  • The importance of connected technology that connects products or systems is increasing. Connected technology is a concept that can communicate with surrounding objects and connect to each other through a network to operate as one system. In particular, it can be implemented using wireless communication, and various conditions are required depending on the application system, such as communication distance and speed. In this study, we analyzed trends in communication technology for the implementation of connectivity between mobility devices such as self-driving cars, drones, UAVs, and shared mobility devices. The communication distance, speed, wired and wireless status, etc. of the latest communication methods currently commercialized or under development were investigated, with a particular focus on low-power operation. We identified the element technologies needed to build a low-power long-distance communication (LPWAN) system, and initially developed a plan for constructing a connected drone. The analysis results showed that it was possible to implement a connected system using the LoRa system, and an example configuration method was presented.

  • Recently, the paradigm of the aircraft industry, not only domestically but also globally, has been changing significantly starting with the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. With the convergence of new technologies such as ICT and AI, the drone market, centered around the military, is expanding its overall services to include the civilian market. Additionally, drones operate by being equipped with batteries, and for product lines that use batteries, lightening the product is one of the critical factors. This is because the lighter the aircraft, the less battery consumption and maximum efficiency. Therefore, recently, composite materials have been used to reduce the weight of the aircraft. To not only reduce weight but also achieve high functionality, it is being applied to most areas such as propellers, airframes, interior materials, floor plates, driving devices, and battery housings, and is emerging as a core technology. In this paper will utilize ceramic fiber composite materials, which have recently emerged for lightweight. It aims to improve noise and strength by targeting propellers, one of the most important factors in drones. In addition, the performance of the propeller developed through the low-noise design will be verified.

  • Even if the HF band SSB maritime data communications service company has operating a target Of the member ship, because of unprepared. the radio link protocol that has been question accordance with increase of calling redundancy at traffic overload. Although free signal has operating for traffic of the next ship, but cannot avoid the collision in mutual calling ships. In feature of HF band SSB channel that radio link must be established by automatical, stability and adaptive at over load. In this factor, this paper is studied the new radio protocol by 3 step sequency driving of free access, group free access and polling access.

A Study on Establishment of Discrimination Model of Big Traffic Accident (대형교통사고 판별모델 구축에 관한 연구)

  • Traffic accidents increase with the increase of the vehicles in operation on the street. Especially big traffic accidents composed of over 3 killed or 20 injured accidents with the property damage become one of the serious problems to be solved in most of the cities. The purpose of this study is to build the discrimination model on big traffic accidents using the Quantification II theory for establishing the countermeasures to reduce the big traffic accidents. The results are summarized as follows. 1)The existing traffic accident related model could not explain the phenomena of the current traffic accident appropriately. 2) Based on the big traffic accident types vehicle-vehicle, vehicle-alone, vehicle-pedestrian and vehicle-train accident rates 73%, 20.5% 5.6% and two cases respectively. Based on the law violation types safety driving non-fulfillment center line invasion excess speed and signal disobedience were 48.8%, 38.1% 2.8% and 2.8% respectively. 3) Based on the law violation types major factors in big traffic accidents were road and environment, human, and vehicle in order. Those factors were vehicle, road and environment, and human in order based on types of injured driver’s death. 4) Based on the law violation types total hitting and correlation rates of the model were 53.57% and 0.97853. Based on the types of injured driver’s death total hitting and correlation rates of the model were also 71.4% and 0.59583.

  • In this paper proposed the solar tracking system to use a fuzzy based on PC in order to increase an output of the PV array. The solar tracking system operated two DC motors driving by signal of photo sensor. The control of dual axes is not an easy task due to nonlinear dynamics and unavailability of the parameters. The fuzzy control made a nonlinear dynamics to well perform and had a robust and highly efficient characteristic about a parameter variable as well as a nonlinear characteristic. Hence the fuzzy control was used to perform the tracking system after comparing with error values of setting-up, nonlinear altitude and azimuth. In this paper designed a fuzzy controller for improving output of PV array and evaluated comparison with efficient of conventional PI controller. The data which were obtained by experiment were able to show a validity of the proposed controller.
