119 구급대 구급차 교통사고 현황 분석 (Analysis of traffic accidents involving 119 emergency)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate both the occurrence status of emergency vehicles traffic accidents and contents of the experiences of emergency medical technicians (EMTs) in fire station. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 451 EMTs in fire stations in 6 cities provinces from February 9, 2017 to February 27, 2017. Results: Of 451 EMTs, 207 (45.9%) had traffic accidents experience. Regarding environment-related features, results indicated hour (12~18 hours), place (national highway), traffic flow (smooth), weather (clear), season (winter), and day (Friday). Regarding correlation analysis of differences in the number of ambulance traffic accidents pursuant to general features of accident-experienced drivers as a human factor, there were no significant differences in recruitment, driving careers of regular cars, driving careers of fire engines, and class but there were significant differences in fire-fighting careers. Accident experience in the group with careers over 6 years and less than 10 years higher than in the other groups. Conclusion: Efforts to expand fire engine driving education programs for the prevention of traffic accidents involving 119 emergency vehicles are required.

  • 자율주행차량을 신뢰하고 탑승하도록 하기 위해서 자율주행 차량에 탑승하는 이용자를 위한 고민이 필요해지고 있다. 자율주행 차량 주행 행태에 대한 선호도를 평가하여 이용자의 자율주행차량 탑승 만족도를 높이는 주행행태를 찾아내고자 한다. 실험환경은 드라이빙 시뮬레이터에 공격적인 운전과 방어적인 운전 두 가지 자율주행 성향을 구현하고, 체험할 수 있도록 하였다. 탑승시 생체데이터를 수집하고, 탑승 전·후 설문조사를 실시하였다. 운전 습관에 따라 2그룹으로 분류하고, 수집한 생체데이터와 비교 분석하였다. 공격적인 성향의 운전자와 조심운전 성향의 운전자 모두 자율주행차량의 조심운전 주행행태를 선호하였다.

가속도 기반 자율주행 패턴에 대한 이용자 만족도 평가 연구 (A Study on User Satisfaction Evaluation of Acceleration-Based Automated Driving Patterns)

  • 자율주행 기술이 빠르게 발전함에 따라 자율주행 기술을 직·간접적으로 체험할 수 있는 기회가 대중에게 제공되고 있지만, 이용자 관점에서 편안한 승차감을 기대할 수 있는 선호하는 자율주행 패턴에 대해서는 연구가 미비하다. 본 연구에서는 주행 시뮬레이터와 자율주행이 가능한 실험차를 활용하여 종·횡방향 가속도에 대한 이용자 측면 만족도 평가를 수행하였다. 주행 실험을 통하여 도출한 5가지 종·횡방향 가속도 값을 활용하여 자율주행 패턴을 가상환경 시뮬레이션으로 구현하였으며, 그 중 3가지 값에 대해서는 실차 기반 자율주행으로 구현하여 만족도 및 불안감 수준 평가실험을 추가 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 실험 참가자들은 종방향 가속도에 비하여 횡방향 가속도에 더 민감한 평가를 하였으며, 불안감 수준도 높게 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 이용자 측면 자율주행 패턴 평가연구 필요성과, 시뮬레이터 기반 평가방법의 적정성을 제시하였다.

  • This paper describes the development of a software that has the man expert knowledge, experience and inference. This software is helpful for selecting the motors and driving systems which are best fit for the applications. Developed software can automatically select the most reasonable motor driving systems, only if a semi-skilled engineer inputs the performance criteria for the applications and mechanical data. Expert system inference engine and knowledge-base are implemented by C programming language. Data-base was implemented from manufacturer's catalogues for DC motors and brushless DC motors. Efficiencies of the various motor driving systems are compared reference on the average efficiency depends on the operating profiles. Developed expert system was tested in various of applications to verify the reliability, quick and easy selecting of the motor driving systems.

Comparisons of Traffic Collisions between Expressways and Rural Roads in Truck Drivers

  • Background: Truck driving is known as one of the occupations with the highest accident rate. This study investigates the characteristics of traffic collisions according to road types (expressway and rural road). Methods: Classifying 267 accidents into expressway and rural road, we analyzed them based on driver characteristics (age, working experience, size of employment), time characteristics (day of accident, time, weather), and accident characteristics (accident causes, accident locations, accident types, driving conditions). Results: When we compared the accidents by road conditions, no differences were found between the driver characteristics. However, from the accident characteristics, the injured person distributions were different by the road conditions. In particular, driving while drowsy is shown to be highly related with the accident characteristics. Conclusion: This study can be used as a guideline and a base line to develop a plan of action to prevent traffic accidents. It can also help to prepare formal regulations about a truck driver's vehicle maintenance and driving attitude for a precaution on road accidents.

운전확신수준의 변화가 연령별 운전행동에 미치는 영향 (Influence of the change of driving confidence level upon driving behavior in the age groups)

  • 본 연구에서는 연령에 따른 운전자의 운전확신수준 변화가 운전행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 운전확신수준을 측정하기 위해 운전확신수준 설문지를 사용하였으며, 조사대상자들의 운전경력, 주행거리, 운전일수, 법규위반(음주, 과속), 교통사고경험(가해, 피해)을 함께 조사하였다. 조사대상자는 만 19세부터 만 80세까지였으며 총 1,055명이 연구에 참여하였다. 운전확신수준의 구조를 알아보고자 요인분석을 실시하였다. 각 연령(29세이하, 30-39세, 40-49세, 50-64세, 65세이상)의 운전확신수준을 비교하고, 운전확신수준과 운전행동과의 관계를 알아보았다. 그 결과, 운전확신수준은 '상황둔감성', '불안전운전', '주의집중소홀', '운전자신감'의 네 요인으로 이루어져 있었으며, 연령의 증가와 함께 운전확신수준은 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 또한, 운전확신수준은 연령과 가해교통사고, 피해교통사고, 운전기간, 음주운전, 과속운전, 운전경력 등과 상관관계를 가지고 있었다. 연구에 참여한 운전자 집단을 음주운전집단, 과속운전집단으로 나누어 운전확신수준과 운전행동의 차이를 알아보았는데, 음주운전이나 과속운전 경험이 없었던 운전자 집단과 음주운전이나 과속운전을 경험한 운전자 집단의 운전확신수준과 운전행동이 유의한 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다.

  • This paper investigates the effects of age, gender, and situational factors on take-over performance in automated driving. The existing automated driving systems still consider a driver as a fallback-ready user who is receptive to take-over requests. Thus, we need to understand the impact of situations and human factors on take-over performance. 34 drivers drove on a simulated track, consisting of one baseline and four event scenarios. The data, including the brake reaction time and the standard deviation of lane position, and physiological data, including the heart rate and skin conductance, were collected. The analysis was performed using repeated-measures ANOVA. The results showed that there were significant age, gender, and situational differences in the takeover performance and mental workload. Findings from this study indicated that older drivers may face risks due to their degraded driving performance, and female drivers may have a negative experience on automated driving.

  • Given recent accidents involving autonomous vehicles, driver monitoring technology related to the transition of control in autonomous vehicles is gaining prominence. Driver status monitoring systems recognize the driver's level of alertness and identify possible impairments in the driving ability owing to conditions including drowsiness and distraction. In autonomous vehicles, predictive factors for the transition to manual driving should also be included. During traditional human driving, monitoring the driver's status is relatively straightforward owing to the consistency of crucial cues, such as the driver's location, head orientation, gaze direction, and hand placement. However, monitoring becomes more challenging during autonomous driving because of the absence of direct manual control and the driver's engagement in other activities, which may obscure the accurate assessment of the driver's readiness to intervene. Hence, safety-ensuring technology must be balanced with user experience in autonomous driving. We explore relevant global and domestic regulations, the new car assessment program, and related standards to extract requirements for driver status monitoring. This kind of monitoring can both enhance the autonomous driving performance and contribute to the overall safety of autonomous vehicles on the road.

소비자의 도덕적 동기와 주행 거리가 전기 자동차의 유용성 지각 및 구매의도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Moral Motivation and Driving Distance on the Perceived Usefulness and Purchase Intention of Electric Vehicles)

  • Purpose - This study examines the effect of consumers' motivations on the perception and purchase intentions of electric cars. Specifically, it empirically analyzes how moral motivations based on personal environmental values and norms in car usage and purchasing influence the perceived usefulness and purchase intentions of electric cars. Furthermore, it investigates whether the influence of moral motivations on perceived usefulness and purchase intentions varies according to the user's driving characteristics. Design/methodology/approach - An online survey was conducted with 234 respondents, by setting criteria for participants as car owners or primary car users within their households, ensuring the sample composition was not biased in terms of the presence or absence of experience with eco-friendly cars. Findings - The research findings indicate that perceived usefulness mediates the effect of consumers' moral motivations on their intention to purchase electric cars. The results of the moderating effect of driving distance on perceived usefulness revealed a significant interaction effect; however, there was no significant interaction effect on purchase intentions. Specifically, for individuals with shorter driving distances, as consumers' moral motivations increase, their perception of the usefulness of electric cars also increases. In contrast, for those with longer driving distances, the increase in perceived usefulness due to moral motivations shows a decreasing trend. Research implications or Originality - This study considered individual driving characteristics that previous research on electric vehicle adoption overlooked, and suggested that setting specific communicating points for electric cars according to driving distance levels might be effective. Lastly, it proposes directions for future research that motivations influencing eco-friendly vehicle purchases may differ based on driving characteristics

차량용 음성대화 인터페이스의 Barge-in 기능이 주행 경험에 미치는 효과 연구 - 내비게이션 및 음악서비스 중심으로 - (The Effect of Barge-in Function of In-Vehicle Voice Conversational Interface on Driving Experience - Focus on Car Navigation and Music Services -)

  • 운전 중 주행목적 외에 기기를 손으로 조작하는 행동은 사고위험을 높이는 주된 요인이며, 이를 보완할 수 있는 차량용 음성대화 인터페이스의 디자인이 최근 활발히 연구되고 있다. 이 연구는 차량용 음성대화 인터페이스의 Barge-in 기능의 사용이 사용자 경험에 미치는 영향을 확인하고자 하였다. 실험참가자를 대상으로 모의 주행을 하면서 내비게이션 조작과 음악재생 맥락으로 나누어 두 가지 태스크를 수행하도록 하도록 하였다. 각 참가자의 태스크 수행 후 기능 사용자 경험 측정을 위한 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 사용자 경험 요인으로 유용성, 사용성, 만족도, 감성을 측정하였다. 그 결과 대부분의 경험 요인에서 Barge-in 기능을 사용할 경우가 더 낫다고 평가되었다. 내비게이션 조작에서는 사용성 차원, 음악재생에서는 사용성, 감성 차원에서 유의미한 차이가 나타나 Barge-in 기능이 실제 사용자의 사용성과 감성 차원의 긍정적인 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다.
