  • This paper makes a trial to build the model of car-following in the state of starting to stable driving on the basic of driver's knowledge that is easily characterized by linguistical cognition. There are three main steps in building the model. Firstly, each driver's rule of three testees is studied in linguistical experssion by the interview and questionary surveys that are repeated once a day for ten days. Secondly, quantification of the linguistical expression is investigated by driving experiments that includes the questionary survey to the testee in the test vehicle, and the membership functions of variables of rule are obtained. Thirdly, implicaton and composition of fuzzy inference is made by Max-Min Methods and defuzzification by gravity method. It can be said that the proposed model of car-following based on driver's knowledge is practically allpicable to the estimation of drivering of car-following on trunk roads in urban area.

  • Speeding has been the most common traffic violation which increases the risk of accidents. The purpose of this study is to examine drivers' behaviors on the speeding intention and speeding action and to identify the relationship between those causes and effects. Effects of behaviors and human characters of drivers on speeding are analyzed through a Driver Behavior Questionnaire and the cause and effect among behavior characters, speeding intention and speeding behavior are validated through the structural equation model. In order to validate the hypothesis of the study, a path analysis is conducted through structural equation model. As the result, Driver Behavior Questionnaire property that influences the speeding is revealed to be the violation while Driver Behavior Questionnaire properties that influences the speeding behavior are lapse, mistake, and violation. And the speeding intention influences the speeding behavior. The study results are compared with previous studies to reveal that Driver Behavior Questionnaire properties influencing the speeding behavior are in the order of violation, mistake and lapse. Three properties of Driver Behavior Questionnaire, lapse, mistake and violation, are behavior scales in agreement with previous studies. The results of this study based on a Driver Behavior Questionnaire are expected to be utilized as a way to predict and validate driving behaviors.

  • Nowadays, the Designated Driver Services employ dynamic pricing, which adapts in real-time based on nearby driver availability, service user volume, and current weather conditions during the user's request. The uncertain volatility is the main cause of price increases, leading to customer attrition and service refusal from driver. To make a good Designated Driver Services, development of a demand forecasting model is required. In this study, we propose developing a demand forecasting model using data from the Designated Driver Service by considering normal and peak periods, such as rush hour and rush day, as prior knowledge to enhance the model performance. We propose a new methodology called Time-Series with Conditional Probability(TSCP), which combines conditional probability and time-series models to enhance performance. Extensive experiments have been conducted with real Designated Driver Service data, and the result demonstrated that our method outperforms the existing time-series models such as SARIMA, Prophet. Therefore, our study can be considered for decision-making to facilitate proactive response in Designated Driver Services.

  • This paper proposes the new type LED driver modularization for illumination LED driver. The proposed LED driver circuit insulates a hot GND of AC input power and a cold GND of LED driver part by using a fly-back converter. In order to control easily the current of the LED, the fly-back converter is operated in the discontinuous mode with excellent dynamic characteristics, and the characteristics of the LED are verified after the closed loop control is performed using a KIA2431. The LED driver module allows the wide AC power input ranges and realizes the burst dimming function which directly regulates a PWM control IC. This paper describes the operation principle of the LED driver module and it is proved the usefulness through the real model with experimentation. Besides, this paper proposes the multi-channel LED driver which the miniaturized and modularized LED driver module are connected by parallel, and verified its propriety by experiments.

  • Steering system is typically one of the vehicle parts that may injure an unrestrained driver in a frontal collision. Therefore, the engineers of vehicle safety parts researched the allowable injury criteria such as HIC(head injury criterion). chest acceleration and knee impact force. From their research, they recognized that development of energy absorbing steering system was necessary to protect the driver. Energy absorbing parts of steering system consist of shear capsule, ball sleeve and shaft assembly. We performed the modelling and dynamic analysis of the energy absorbing steering column with the unrestrained driver model. The conclusions of this study are as follows. 1) The variation of column angle has an important effects on the dynamic responses of steering system and driver behavior. 2) The energy absorbing steering system satisfies the safety criterion of FMVSS 203, 208, but not the safety criterion of FMVSS 204.

  • In subtractive hybridization, target sequences in the tester are enriched by hybridizing with an excess amount of driver, followed by removing the tester hybridized with the driver. All of existing subtractive cloning methods are designed to remove the tester/driver hybrid. The removal of hybrid, however, is often unsatisfactory For various reasons. In this study we developed a subtractive enrichment protocol in which the tester/driver can be completely removed by selecting only the tester/tester after hybridization. In this protocol both the tester and driver DNAs are ligated with same linker DNAs and amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The tester DNA is then digested with two different enzymes and used in subsequent hybridization with an excess driver. After hybridization, the DNA is ligated with the adaptor that is only compatible with the tester/tester. Since only the tester/tester can have the new adaptor, no tester/driver can be amplified by PCR in this protocol. Unlike other methods, a 100% subtraction efficiency can be achieved even though the enzymatic treatments used in the enrichment procedure are incomplete. Furthermore, only the hybridized tester DNA can have the new adaptor and be amplified by PCR, resulting in 100% denaturation in effect. The efficacy of this novel method was verified with the model system in which a known amount of the target sequence is included.

  • Even though there have been many efforts on driver's route recommendation, driver still should get involved to choose the driving path in a manual manner. Uncertain traffic information provided to the driver delays his arrival time and hence may cause diminished economic values. One of the solutions of reducing the uncertainty is to provide various kinds of traffic information, rather than send real-time information. Therefore, as the wireless communication technology improves and at the same time volume of utilizable traffic contents increases in geometrical progression, selecting traffic information based on driver's context in a timely and individual manner will be needed. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to propose a methodology that efficiently sends the rich traffic contents to the personal in-vehicle navigation. To do so, driver preference is modeled and then the recommendation algorithm of traffic information contents was developed using the preference model. Secondly, ontology based traffic situation analyzation method is suggested to automatically inference the noticeable information from the traffic context on driver's route. To show the feasibility of the idea proposed in this paper, an open API service is implemented in consideration of ease of use.

  • Simple spring-damper-mass models have been widely used to investigate whole-body vortical biodynamic response characteristics of the seated vehicle driver. Most previous models have not considered the effect of wobbling masses; i.e. heart, lungs, liver, intestine, etc. In this study, 4 -DOF seated driver model including one non-rigid mass representing wobbling visceral mass, 5-DOF model including intestine, and 10-DOF model including five lumbar vertebral masses were proposed. The model parameters were identified by a combinatorial optimization technique. simulated annealing method. The objective function was chosen as the sum of error between model response of seat-to-head transmissibility and driving point mechanical impedance and those of experimental data for subjects seated erect without backrest support. The model response showed a good agreement with the experimental response characteristics. Using a 10-DOF model, calculated resonance frequency of lumbar spine at 4Hz was matched well with experimental results of Panjabi et al.

  • To analyze the risk according to accident types by novice and experienced drivers, it is used the accidents data which occurred for 2 years(2005~2006) in Korea. It is defined that novice driver is a people who is not passed 1 year after getting a driving licence and experienced driver is a people who is passed 1 year in this study. It is used a risk model to compare and analyze about the risk between two groups. The risk model is developed to apply together two variables which is accidents frequency and severity. Then it is used a conceptual weight to find that proper rate between accident frequency and fatal accident frequency. It is found a weight($\omega=0.6$) to suitable value to apply a risk model. The results showed that collision with obstacles, angle collision($90^{\circ}$) types to novice driver group have bigger risk than experienced driver group.
