수자원(水資源) 오염 특성에 의한 불량매립지(不良埋立地) 예비평가모형(豫備評價模型) 정립 (Establishment of Landfill Site Preliminary Assessment Model Based on Contamination Characteristics of Water Resources)

  • To assess preliminarily the contamination potential of water resources including groundwater owing to the hydrogeological characteristics of landfill site and the potential impact to humans and animals through contamination of water resources by leachate, "Landfill Site Preliminary Assessment Model(LASPAS)" was contrived. LASPAS could help them proritization of remediation of landfil sites by the convenient and relatively simple evaluation method of landfill site features. LASPAS was designd to aliot numerical ratings to landfill site related factors undermentioned; 1) hydrogeological factors such as hydraulic conductivity of aquifer, thickness of confining layer over aquifer, topographical slope, net recharge, and subsurface containment 2) water resources contamination factors of impacts on receptors such as proximity to drinking water supply, substitutability of drinking water supply, type of use of water resources, known impact on drinking water supply, and flood potential.

지하수 세균 군집의 유전적 다양성 (The Genetic Diversity of Bacterial Communities in the Groundwater)

  • 서울시 소재 지하수 중 중금속으로 오염되어 음용수 이외의 생활 용수로 사용하고 있는 1개 정점과 음용수로 사용하고 있는 1개 정점, 대조군으로 강화도 천연 동굴의 1개 정점을 대상으로 실험을 실시하였다. 지하수 세균군집의 유전적 다양성의 변화를 보기 위해 지하수 세균 군집에서 16SrDNA를 증폭하는 primer로 PCR(polymerase chain reaction)을 실시한 후 ARDRA(amplified ribosomal DNA restriction analysis) 지문 분석으로 비교하였다. 16S rDNA를 증폭하여 제한효소 지문분석을 한 결과 in situ와 음용수에서 유전적 다양성이 상대적으로 크게 나타났다. 지하수 세균 군집의 ARDRA지문 분석은 상이한 환경과 서식지를 반영한 유전적 차이를 빠르게 비교 분석할 수 있었으며 지하수의 오염도에 따른 미생물의 다양성(천연 동굴>음용수>오염수)을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Until 1960 water pollution was caused by virus but now in according to industrial develop cent it has been continued environmental pollution by surfactant heavy metal, and hazardous chemical substance erst.. It is possible to Prevent contamination by virus owing to development of antibiotic but not to dissolve basely health effect by hazardous chemical substances because it takes very long time, about 5-40 years, average 20 years, in appearing a disease after exposure by then To maintain human life for 75 years, it need 55 ton of water. In the experiment of Public Health Institute, Tokyo, they reported that over 200 chemical substances can be detected in case of human being to drink tap water of Tokyo(1989) continuously. In our country, elevation of life style and development of industry result in increase of water use and overappreciation of pesticides in farm land a(sects drinking water quality. We estimated analytical item of drinking water hygienically by dividing into 5 groups such as physical effect item health hazardous inorganic item and health hazardous organic item ect. based on hygienic purpose.

-부농촌지역이 상하중 위생실태조사 (A Survey on the Sanitary Condition of Water Source and Toilet in Korean Rural Area.)

  • Main objectives of this survey were to find out general sanitary status of water source, draining status and toilet in Shindong Myun, Chungseong Gun. Interviewers of fourteen students visited 1,775 households in this Myun, filled the survey form and checked sanitary conditions of the areas from September 1 to November 30, 1974. Results are summarized as follows: 1. Draining state of pumps is better than that of wells and also the the quality of water sources are better in pumps than in wells. Wells and pumps of 54.1% were constructed more than five years ago. 2. About 66.7% use pump water, 10.5% well water and 8.3% simple piped drinking water system and average water consumption is 22.7l per day per capita. Private water system is 66.0% while public system 27.1%. 3. Water is used for drinking, washing body and cleaning at 53.8% while only for drinking at 7.4%. 4. Nearest pollution sources of drinking water are mainly toilets and stables, and average distances between them are less than ten meters. 5. Toilets of 78.3% are used only by one households and those of 12.9% by two. 6. Toilets of 10.9% are inside main building while those of 85.4% outside main building. 7. Toilet tanks are covered only at 6.3% households while not covered at 95.4%. The contents of tanks are removed about twice a month (40.2%), and 84.1% use them as fertilizer on their own farm and contents of 10.1% are removed by other people. 8. Excreta are utilized on the vegetable farm by 38.2% households, on the vegetable and barley farms by 19.7% and on the paddy fields by 8.2%.

자연공원내 주요 음용수의 수질환경평가 (Water Quality Assessment of Major Drinking Waters in Natural Parks)

  • 본 연구에서는 자연공원내 주요 음용수에 대한 수질특성을 평가하여 기초정보를 제공함과 적절한 관리방안을 제언하는데 그 목적이 있다. 분석결과 미생물은 자연공원이라는 지리적 특성상 대부분 검출되는 것으로 나타났고, 일부 대상지에서는 현재 자외선살균기 및 오존처리를 시행하고 있듯이 기타 주요 음용수에도 확대하여 사용하는 것이 적절한 것으로 판단된다. 또한 가정에서 음용시 끓여 마심으로 자연소독을 하는 것이 적절한 것으로 판단되며, 탁도 등이 일부 먹는 물 수질기준(샘물)을 초과하는 것으로 나타났으나, 음용수 주변의 환경정화 등으로 개선할 수 있는 것으로 판단된다. 전반적으로 자연공원내 주요 음용수는 먹는물 수질기준(샘물)에 적합한 것으로 나타났고, 청소 등의 정기적인 관리와 개선이 필요한 것으로 판단된다.

캄보디아 쁘로얍 지역과 랭뜰 지역 거주민의 먹는물 현황 (Status of Drinking Water in Pproyap and Langthle, Cambodia)

  • 캄보디아는 동남아시아 지역에서 대표적인 저개발 국가이다. 수자원의 관점에서 캄보디아는 풍부한 수량을 갖고 있지만, 농촌지역에서는 안전하지 않은 식수와 처리되지 않은 분뇨에 의하여 공중 보건의 문제가 이어지고 있다. 본 연구는 캄보디아 지역에서의 물 원조 프로그램을 위한 신전략수립과 준비를 위해 현지조사, 검토 및 농촌지역에서의 물 오염현황분석, 그리고 해당지역의 물 순환을 분석하였다. 조사 대상지역은 푸르사트주에 있는 쁘로얍과 랭뜰을 조사 대상지로 정하였다. 연구대상 농촌지역의 사람들은 식수전용 웅덩이, 빗물 항아리, 관리되지 않은 우물물 등 지표수에 의존하고 있었다. 분석은 분원성 미생물(TTC)과 일반항목으로 크게 두 가지로 하였으며, 대상지역에서 채수한 시료들을 분석/평가하였다. TTC는 수인성 배설물 오염의 세균 지표인데 26개의 시료중 단 한개만이 WHO가 규정한 TTC 허용한계인 불검출/100 mL의 기준을 충족시켰다.

경북 지역 먹는 물의 은 검출 특성 (Silver Contamination in Drinking Water of Gyeongbuk Area in Korea)

  • 나노물질에 대한 연구와 산업화가 급격히 진행되면서 수환경으로 유출되는 나노물질의 양도 점차 많아지고 있다. 특히 은나노물질의 경우 은의 항균성으로 인하여 다양한 분야에서 사용되고 있으며 환경으로 유출되어 입자상태와 용해된 상태로 존재할 수 있다. 은나노물질과 은이온은 생태환경에 악영향을 줄 수 있으며 미국에서는 2차 먹는물 규제 항목(secondary drinking water standards)으로 정하고 있으며 규제농도는 0.1 mg/L로 정하여 관리하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 경북지역의 지하수와 소규모 먹는 물 공급시설을 대상으로 은의 농도를 측정하였으며 오염 정도를 미국 EPA 기준과 비교하고 시료를 채취한 지역의 특성, 물의 사용 목적 등을 고려하여 분석하였다. 총 293개의 시료 중 EPA의 secondary drinking water standards를 초과한 시료는 2개이며 비율로 0.6 7%이다. 검출률은 마을 상수도와 소규모 급수시설에서 상대적으로 높으며 농도 기준으로는 지하수에서 상대적으로 높은 농도를 보여 인위적 오염원과 지질적 기원이 동시에 작용한 것으로 판단되었다.

  • Chlorine disinfection has been used in drinking water supply to disinfect the water-borne microbial disease which may cause to serious human disease. As Chlorination is still the least costly, relatively easy to use, chlorination is the primary means to disinfect portable water supplies and control bacterial growth in the distribution system. However, chlorine also reacts with natural organic matter (NOM), which presents in nearly all water sources, and then produces disinfection by-product (DBps), which may have adverse health effects. Although the existent DBPs have been reported in drinking water supplies, it is not feasible to predict the levels of the various DBPs due to the complex chemistry reaction involved. The objectives of this study were to investigate seasonal variation of DBPs formation and difference of DBPs concentration in the plant to tap water. The average concentration of THMs was 20.04 ${\mu}g/{\ell}$, HAAs 8-15 ${\mu}g/{\ell}$, HANs 2-4.5 ${\mu}g/{\ell}$ respectively. Distant variation of DBPs formation is that THMs concentration increase by 17% at 2 km point from the plant and by 28% at 7 km and HAAs, HANs also increase each by 16%, 32%, at 2 km from the plant and 35%, 56%, at 7 km. DBPs increase in water supply pipe continually. The seasonal occurrence of DBPs is that in May and August DBPs concentration is very high then in March, in May DBPs concentration is highest. The temperature is main factor of DBPs formation, precursor also. Precursor which was accumulated for winter flowed into the raw water by flooding in spring and summer and produced DBPs. Therefore for the supply of secure drinking water, it is required to protect precursor of flowing into raw water and to add to BCAA and DBAA to drinking water standards.

서울시 거주 청소년과 성인의 수돗물 불소농도조정사업 의식에 관한 조사연구 (Knowledge of adolescents and adults about water fluoridation among the residents of Seoul)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to understand and compare the knowledge of the adolescents and adults among the residents of Seoul metropolitan city about water fluoridation program. Methods : A total of 613 adolescents and adults between the age of 15 and 31-49 was surveyed by the questionnaire. Among them, the source of drinking water, the source of cooking water, awareness of caries prevention effect of water fluoridation program, awareness of cost benefit of health insurance of water fluoridation program, approval of water fluoridation program, awareness of health safety of water fluoridation program were surveyed. Results : 85.5% of adolescents and 88.9% of adults were surveyed to use public water supply for drinking water, and 95.3% of adolescents and 96.8% of adults were surveyed to use public water supply for cooking water. But only 14.0% of adolescents, comparing to the 42.1% of adults, were surveyed to be aware of the caries prevention effect of water fluoridation, and only 6.0% of adolescents, comparing to the 24.6% of adults, were surveyed to be aware of the caries prevention effect of water fluoridation to reduce to health insurance expenditure. About 82.6% of adolescents, comparing to the 92.1% of adults, were surveyed to vote for the fluoridation program, and only 6.8% of adolescents, comparing to the 28.6% of adults, were surveyed to be aware of health safety of water fluoridation program. Conclusions : Extensive oral health education program to the adolescents are necessary about using water fluoridation to prevent the dental caries.

식수의 수질중 미네랄성분과 음이온을 이용한 지수에 관한 연구 (Study on the Drinking Water Index with Minerals and Anions)

  • It is well known that we should take 2L of drinking water per day to maintain our health. The drinking water quality is becoming worse owing to sewage discharge and industrial wastewater. Surface water is polluted by various kinds of contaminants and ground water were known as clean and unpolluted water, but through recent many reports the ground waters are also contaminated by waste disposal and intrusion of organic and bacterial movement. This research was undertaken to make a water index of water contamination by referringcations cations and anions. NH$_{4}$, Fe, Mn, and Pb are chosen as cations and $NO_3$, Cl, and $SO_4$ ions are chosen as anions to make a index, and the following water index was made as the contamination index. (Fe+Mn+Pb)/0.7+$(NH_4+NO_3+Cl+SO_4)$/10.5<6.0 By using ton Chromatography the cations and anions are rapidly analyzed and plotting the analyzed data to the equation, we can easily get the degree of contaminations by avoiding analysis of over 37 water parameters in several days. Of course this index of water contamination is not perfect and detail one, but in case of emergent case or to know the overall trends of contamination, it is convenient to use this index. Among the tested 5 kinds of samples the ground water showed contamination index of 6.87. Authors used the already published healthy index and tasty index and differentiated their degrees in detail.
