마이크로 Deep hole 가공 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the characteristic of micro deep hole drilling)

  • Micro drilling is used in the production of fuel injection nozzle, watch, camera, air bearing and pinted circuit boards(PCB) are demanded for high precision. Recently industries of precision production require more small hole, high aspect ratio and high speed working for micro deep hole drilling. But the undesirable characteristics of micro drilling is the small signal to noise ratios, wandering motion of drill, high aspect ratio and the increase of cutting force as cutting depth increase. So in this paper to obtain the optimization of cutting condition a study on the characteristics of micro deep hole drilling used Tool dynamometer is proposed.

  • 절삭가공중에서 DRILL가공은 일반기계가공 공정중에 23 .approx. 25% 정도의 비율을 점우하고 있는 중요한 위치의 작업의 하나이고 또한 요구되는 정밀도를 만족하기 어렵고, 높은 생산성이 요구되는 가공법이다. 기계가공의 무인화, 자동화, 고능률화 및 정도향상 이라는 측면에서 더욱 이에 대응할 수 있는 가공방법 즉 공작물, 공구재료, 공구형상 및 절삭조건등에 걸쳐 광범위하게 연구개발 되어 져 가고 있다. 이 작업중 특히 곤란한 것은 깊은 구멍가공(DEEP HOLE DRILL)으로서 깊이/직경의 비가 극히 높은(약 5배이상) 절삭가공 의 경우에는 CHIP의 배출, 절삭날부의 윤활, 공구의 진동등의 문제로 인하여 일반적인 절삭가공 공법으로는 가공이 여려운 경우가 많다. 본 연구는 Solid BTA Drill(Mlti-tip Drill Head with Brazed Tips)에 의하여 가공에요구되는 절삭성 분석과 절삭조건의 변화에 따른 공작물의 가공정도 즉, 가공구멍의 직경의 변화, 표면거칠기. 진원도의 변화상태 및 공구의 마모된 현상에 대하여 실험조사하여 공구에 제한된 수명을 연장하고, 제품에 요구되는 품질수준을 확보하는가에 대하여 본 실험을 통하여 분석하도록 하였다.

BTA드릴의 절삭 기구와 마모 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Cutting Mechanism and Wear Character for BTA Drill)

  • So far,in deep drilling process there are several manufacturing problems such as hole deviation, hole over size, circularity,straightness and surface roughness. Whit regard to these problems, we atudied the abrasion process on carbided tip of BTA drill and got the follow test results through the abrasion characteristic test and analysis on cutting mechanism for the drill tooth and guide pad. 1) In SM55C drilling process, the most stable and reasonable drilling speed range for optmum abrasion characteristic of drill tooth was 60m.min. 2) The total drilling torque was about 60kg .deg.cm on condition drilling speed 60m/min and 0.15mm/rev. These results show that the theoretical burnising torque is well accord with the tested torque which is working on guide pad.

BTA드릴에 의한 SM55C의 심공가공시 최적절삭조건과 공구수명에 관한 연구 (A Study on Optimum Cutting Conditions and Tool Life in Deep Hole Drilling for SM55C by BTA Drill)

  • The deep hole drilling has an increasing demands because of its wide range applications and its good productivity. The BTA drills are capable of machining for having a large length to diameter ratio in single pass to higher degree of accuracy and surface finish. It's really necessary that the investigation for the deep hole drilling by the BTA drill because its required quality should be satisfied with single pass. This thesis deal with the experimental results obtained during single tube BTA system machining on SM55C steel for different machining conditions. The results of the investigation on the optimum cutting condition selecting and tool life reveals as follows. (1) The optimum cutting condition was cutting speed, V = 42 m/min and feed speed. F = 90 mm/min and the tool life was about 10 meters. (2) Surface roughness was $12\mum$ and the roundness was less using $16mum$single edge BTA drill in testing cutting condition.

고다층 보드 신뢰성 확보를 위한 베어보드 EMC 특성 연구 (A Study on the EMC Characteristics of Bare PCB for Reliability of High-Multilayer PCB)

  • In the case of high-speed data transmission on high multilayer boards, signal coherence is a problem, especially due to the via hole, and a solution to improve return loss or insertion loss by applying a back drill to the via hole is being proposed. In this paper, Near-Field Electromagnetic measurements were made on a high multilayer board to determine how the presence or absence of back drill affects signal consistency. For this purpose, we used a signal generator, spectrum analyzer, and EMC scanner on a test board to determine if it is possible to distinguish between areas with and without back drill in the via holes of the stubs on the board. Also, we analyzed the measured value of S11, S21 and EMC etc. for how much it improves the signal attenuation of the stub with back drill. Through this, we knew that less electromagnetic waves are generated the stub via with back drill. At future research, we will analyze how much it improves the signal loss and electromagnetic waves due to the depth of back drill.

PCB드릴링용 공기베어링 스핀들의 런아웃(RunOut)에 따른 가공 홀의 형상변화 (Drilled Hole Variation of Air Bearing Spindle for PCB according to RUNOUT)

  • In this study, we measured cylindricity and Runout of the air bearing spindle, and tested PCB(printed circuit boards) drilling with 0.4mm micro drill at 90,000rpm and 110,000rpm in order to obtain drilling hole error. Results are as follows; The air bearing spindle's Runout was not so high within $10\mu{m}$ from 20,000rpm to 80,000rpm but it grew after 80,000rpm. Drilling hole size error was 9% at 80,000rpm and 12% at 110,000rpm because of spindle's Run out. Drilled hole shape falsified more 110,000rpm than 90,000rpm.

  • Recently micro deep hole drilling is required in the whole industry. However, micro deep hole drilling has still much difficulty because of the lack of drill rigidity and the interruption of chip. We treated a micro deep hole(diameter 0.35mm, depth 3mm) used in a connector jack pin. Therefore, a surface roughness is very important. In this paper, we studied on the variation of the surface roughness for cutting conditions during micro deep hole drilling of Be-Cu material. Most of all, we tried to drill on CNC for the realization of automatization.

알루미늄 홀 가공용 버니싱 드릴의 제작 및 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fabrication and Evaluation of Burnishing Drills for Aluminum Hole Making)

  • Recently, the use of aluminum components in the reduction of the vehicle weight to improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon dioxide emissions has increased. In the aluminum machining cutting process, hole-making is an important process that accounts for 30% of the machining process. Although many studies have been conducted using the continuously advancing hole processing technology, studies on the machinability of the tool depending on the type of chuck on the workpiece are still lacking. In this study, the machining performance of cemented carbide burnishing drills was compared and analyzed according to chuck type. The burnishing drill was used to create a hole in the AL6061 workpiece, and the surface roughness and dimensional accuracy of the hole were examined according to the type of chuck while monitoring the spindle load.

방전 드릴링에서 전극 소모량 예측 및 보정 (A Study of Electrode Wear Estimation and Compensation for EDM Drill)

  • Electric discharging machining (EDM) is commonly adopted to machine the precise and tiny part when it is difficult to meet the productivity and the tolerance by the conventional cutting method. The die-sinking EDM method works well to machine the micro-parts and the perpendicular wall of die and mould, whereas EDM drilling, called super drill, is excellent to machine the deep and narrow hole regardless the material hardness and the hole location. However, the electrode wear is rapid compared to the conventional cutting tool and makes it difficult to control the electrode feeding and to machine precisely. This paper presents an efficient method to estimate the electrode wear using hole pass-through experiment while the stochastic method is used to compensate for the estimation model. To validate the proposed method, the commercial EDM drill machine is used. The experiment result shows that the electrode wear amount can be predicted very precisely.

  • BTA drilling among the deep hole drilling is using for the improvement of productivity and the high-efficient working. As the deep hole drilling with BTA drill is satisfied with the required quality by one-pass processing, more deeper hole depth, the accuracy of materials is affected by bending vibration and cutting speed. This paper is studied that the shapes of material (surface roughness, roundness) is affected by cutting condition compared actual roundness with lobe shape with modeling of computer through the experiments in the BTA drilling system with BTA drill.
