  • The solenoid valve case of an 8-speed automatic transmission plays a role in maintaining the valve seal, which prevents an inflow of foreign substances into the transmission. The seal increases the reliability of the automatic transmission's performance. As a solution to pollution-related problems and to reduce fuel consumption, transmissions are being made with more gears to work more economically and have reduced fuel consumption. These newer transmission require greater dimensional tolerances and need to be manufactured with more precision. In the current study, the design of a multistage drawing considering both the product's height and limit draw ratio (LDR) of the material was performed using both a theoretical analysis and the expertise of industrial experts. The finite element modeling (FEM) simulation was performed using the commercial software, PAM-stamp, and tests of the dimensional measurements for a prototype were performed to verify the optimal progressive process.

  • In this thesis, a strip layout drawing of LCD S/C (shield case) was prepared. In the press die, strip layout drawing is a major factor that decides the mass production of a product. The 3D CAD/CAM system was applied for the easy correction of the interference factor with other parts to be mounted. The material use ratio was enhanced to 60.17% by optimizing the blank layout and strip layout in double width array. Furthermore, the flatness of the product was made to fit the requirements by adding the bidding process intensively on the notching part where the occurrence of the change in shape is expected owing to the thin material. For the 3D CAD/CAM software, Unigraphics NX3.0 was used. The strip layout drawing was prepared in 12 processes.

  • In this thesis, the drawing was prepared for the strip layout of the pickup frame In the press die, the drawing for press layout is a major factor in determining the mass production of the product. The 3D CAD/CAM system was applied to easily correct interference factors with other parts to be mounted. This study improved the material utilization ratio to 28.49% by optimizing the blank layout and strip layout in wide-width arraying. The 3D CAD/CAM software used is Unigraphics NX 4.0, and the strip layout drawing was prepared in 12 processes.

Enhancement of the Ionic Conductivity and Mechanical Strength of Micro-porous Separator by Uni-axial Drawing

  • A new porous separator based on poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC)/poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoro-propylene) (P(VdF-co-HFP)/poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) was prepared by a phase inversion method. To enhance mechanical property, the membrane was stretched uniaxially at high temperature. Tensile strength and ionic conductivity were measured for various draw ratios. The tensile strength and ionic conductivity were increased with increasing draw ratio. The tensile strength of the separator reached 52MPa after stretching to draw ratio of 5, and the ionic conductivity of the separator was increased from $1.9Xs10^{-4}S/cm\;to\;4.6X10^{-4}S/cm\;at\;25^{\circ}C$. The stretched separator immersed in liquid electrolyte was electrochemically stable up to 4.7 V. The cell based on the stretched separator was maintained at about 99% of the initial discharge capacity after 10th cycle operation at 0.2C rate.

  • The temperature-entropy diagram of water or vapor displays graphically the thermophysical properties, so it is very conveniently used in various thermal systems. On general T-s chart of water, there are temperature, pressure, quality, specific volume, specific enthalpy, specific entropy. However, various state and process values besides above properties can be plotted on T-s diagram. In this study, we developed the software drawing twenty six kinds of properties, that is temperature, pressure, quality, specific volume, specific internal energy, specific enthalpy, specific entropy, specific exergy, exergy ratio, density, isobaric specific heat, isochoric specific heat, ratio of specific heat, coefficient of viscosity, kinematic coefficient of viscosity, thermal conductivity, prandtl number, ion product, static dielectric constant, isentropic exponent, velocity of sound, joule-thomson coefficient, pressure coefficient, volumetric coefficient of expansion, isentropic compressibility, and isothermal compressibility. Also, this software can analyze and print the system values of mass flow rate, volume flow rate, internal energy flow rate, enthalpy flow rate, entropy flow rate, exergy flow rate, heat flow rate, power output, power efficiency, and reversible work. Additionally, this software support the functions such as MS-Power Point.

A Study on the Effect of corner Angle on Cup Drawing (코너각이 용기에 성형에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Trapezoid cups and square ones have been deep-drawn to 45mm in depth. Displacements and strains have been analysed by FEM and experiment. Strains and effective strains in the corner flanges of trapezoid cups have been compared with those in square cups. The results have shown that because of shear strains on the corner flange, it is necessary to adopt effective strain for comparing strains, mean vale of effective strains in the corner flange with a corner angle of 72 degrees is narly equal to those with a corner angle of a right angle and mean value of effective strains with a corner angle of 102 degrees is smaller than those with a corner angle of a right angle.

  • Solid-state extrusion technique was employed for the improvement of mechanical properties of polylactic acid (PLLA) widely used as biodegradable internal fixation devices currently. Cylindrical billets were machined out from the vacuum compression-molded PLLA to have various diameters, and solid-state extrusion of the billets was performed at various drawing rates and at the extrusion temperature of $130^{\circ}C$. Throughout the whole processes the decrease in molecular weight was significantly suppressed to be about $10\%$. Flexural modulus and strength of PLLA increased up to 8.3 GPa and 221 MPa, respectively. Studies on the orientation and crystallinity of extruded PLLA could reveal the effects of billet morphology, draw ratio, and drawing rate on the flexural strengths of PLLA.

  • This study is aimed to analyze present states of computer education in interior design dept. and therefore to offer basic data in order to establish middle and long term plan on computer education. According to results of analysis, computer education course accounts for 10.1 percent in total curriculum. But this component ratio has great difference between university and jumopr college. Namely computer education course of college is much more weighter than that of university. It seems to be results from college's characteristic strategies. But this results to unsuitable curriculum allocation. To solve this problem, further examination of linking computer's course with drafting and drawing course should be required. And to heighten more effect of computer education, other circumstance as well as educational facility should be improved and common CAD laboratory should be produced.

  • The objective of this study is to optimize the section of RC box culvert and develop a CAD system for drawing. This paper consists of three parts. In the first part, the external load conditions are systematized by using the literatures and specifications. In the second one, the RC box culvert is optimized using the SUMT algorithm. Sizing variables, and steel ratio are taken as design variables, and a cost function as the objective function. The stress and side constraints are derived from the Korea Concrete Specifications for the ultimate strength design. Finally, a data base and CAD system is developed for the drawing of the optimized section of RC box culverts.

  • Square cups have been drawn to 20mm~60mm in depth and displacements and strains have been analysed by FEM and experiment. Displacements and strains on the corner flange of square cups have been compared with those of cylindrical cups. The results have shown that shear strains take place on corner flanges of square cups, it is necessary to adopt effective strain for comparing of stains and the effective strains on the corner flange in square cups are smaller than those in cylindrical ones.
